This game pretty much just came out at the right time, and gets the job done as a family game. It's one of the only games my parents enjoyed playing with my brother and I.
I check this channel at least once a day either to see a new vid or just watch an older one (there are so many I forget if I've already watched them). Thanks, Jeremy.
The opening line was great! The only baseball game worth playing on this console is, as we all know, Ken Griffey Jr. Presents Major League Baseball. I'm pretty sure I share your lack of interest in baseball but this game was a blast.
The only reason people say Ken Griffey Jr. baseball is better is because it's got an actual MLB representation. Super Bases Loaded is a much better game.
Super Bases Loaded adds a ball marker for fielding where Bases Loaded 3 didn't. So helpful! Bases Loaded 2 on nes fielding view is whack. But all in all I enjoy the series. Sandberg is the man.
I guess it was the variable physics engine that made you hit a hard line drive every time if you just hold up on the D pad while you swing. No hate on super bases loaded though, I played this to death back in the day. I actually enjoyed the pitching and defensive side of the game just as much as batting.
Play a perfect game?! That's a ridiculous goal! A team wins the World Series every year, but sometimes it's literally DECADES between perfect games! Bases Loaded asks too much.
Got a perfect game the other night after deciding to play it for the first time since i was a kid. Took getting back into the swing of it. I don't think i ever had one when i was young. I actually got to see the credits for it. LOL
I enjoy this game, moreso now that I'm older. When I was a kid, I didn't like how much faster the pitches were compared to Bases Loaded 1 on NES. Yeah, I sucked. Still kinda do, actually. I'm certainly never going to manage a perfect game. But I'm not interested in playing through an entire pennant, either. So as someone who will only play a baseball game once in a blue moon, this game's a good choice for me.
Every Baseball game after Super Bases Loaded should have taken a cue from it. I d play this before i would play many others that came after it. And yes i've had a perfect game playing it. It's more fun to play than any other baseball simulator i've played.
I just got this game from a thrift store for $3. Figured I'd give it a shot. I never owned a SNES baseball game, but owned and played several for the NES and one for the Genesis. This one just comes across as upside-down, awkward, and doesn't play very well. Maybe if I had nostalgia with it, it would be better.
I played that game at my local recreation center in the mid-90s. It was horrible (though the best player of that game could get to around Stage 4 before dying because of AI cheapness).
So in essence Super Bases Loaded is just Bases Loaded 3 with 16-bit graphics (and even the same box art). And Ryne Sandberg probably had much to do with this game as Cal Ripken and Roger Clemens had with their respective endorsed titles. Too bad Ken Griffey Jr's game is all the way in 1994.
Looking forward to the NES Works episode on Bases Loaded this summer or this fall.
To this day Ryne Sandberg still calls his buddies over and plays this game very competitively.

My favorite baseball games on NES (and my dad) always been the BAd News Baseball one :D
Ah, I remember I had this game when I was young. I played it numerous times... I also never won a single game against the AI!

Theoly, the GOAT
Got a strong laugh out of "We question the use of the superlative 'Ultra', too". Oh Jeremy, you so shady. Hahaha
i love that evangelion ending song so much
It's from Evangelion? Huh.

Love this game.

SlyBeast Check out the Power League series for Super Famicom. Japanese baseball, damn good games.

My dad LOVED this game!
I love it too im hosting a ai tournament right now
These Jaleco sports games were so ubiquitous, will there come a day where we get a Retronauts episode proper on the subject?
I sure hope not.
Putting Kat that far down in the lineup is a mistake probably, she seems like your only athlete
Gotta be down there to pull us out of the hole for our third-inning comeback.
Huh, a Laser Disc advertisement is on the scoreboard. That's...odd
It is the ’90s, and there is time for… imminently obsolete media formats.
Japan gave it love.

6:02 lol
I see some familiar names on your custom team - also, GG on throwing the ball into the crowd
Like I said, it takes a little while to adjust to the inverted fielding screen…

so hard to play

Fun to watch as usual, even with a lackluster game. Been meaning to ask -- what is your end-of-episode music in the works videos?
th-cam.com/video/F6OXXmbWkzA/w-d-xo.html it's the episode preview song from evangelion
lackluster game? My mans this is one of the best sports game on the system
Next episode is Ultraman!? Oh no..... oh no.....
Sadly yes

Yeah, that's where I hit a wall, too. That fourth dude is some big B.S.
I should play super bases loaded and I am a Padres fan. 😀👍⚾️🎮

This is the first game I played on the SNES it's the reason I wanted the SNES. Good time's!
This game is pretty terrible but man, that soundtrack was boppin
6:00 haha, oops
That's what they call an "unforced error." Official scoring: E3.
On the Stick even if they don't have the license, it's good to see some representation of the Astros here
Hahaha, yeah, they were pretty bad in the early '90s.
wow! Ultraman comes next!! I know the game is rather lacking, but it was nice to play as the silver and red giant =')
When's Actraiser coming out?
When we reach that point in the system's chronology.
lol, Ryne Sandberg. There were far more marketable players when this game was released.
Sure more marketable than a former MVP winner and future HOFer like Sandberg wasn't the best 2B in the league
they couldn't land the coveted Bobson Dugnutt endorsement
