I grew up with tiger asian parents while i was raised in an australian environment. It DOESNT work, kids will have a point in time where they will grow up and be autonomous, we are not walking trophies and life should not be filled with fear and expectations..... alot of asian kids will have ptsd and self esteem affected. More important for the kids to have the tools to deal in the real world and that they can navigate through life......
I think I can deal with tiger parents as long as they fully support and devoted their life for the sake of children's good development, not because it's their obsession that is objected to their children.
Well my parents are in between, a little westernized but also pretty strict. I love them anyways (I don’t think I will ever be able to say that out load to them tho XD )❤️
The best approach is to, 1. Instill discipline and values to your children 2. Let them know that being honest and telling the truth will always be the right thing to do 3. Find out what your child is good at and enjoy doing 4. Nurture and support them from there 5. Little by little, allow them some independence 6. Support the decisions they make 7. If you cant agree with their decision, at least respect it if they already made that decision as an adult.
In this era, we don't expect our children to take care of us when we get old. We are just praying for them to not come back to ask for money or stay in our home because they don't have a job.

It’s been three years since you made that comment. I hope that you are able to say out loud to your parents that you love them.

Well nothing rude in this but I have a feeling that the kid is going to dump them in some third class old age home. Karma.
