Why does everyone hate me? He's insulting them saying they're hookers who shouldn't aspire to be models! *third POV is from the police, saying he's gotta do a job right? Stromae made this album thinking about things that we found in a lot of places around the world. Things like depression (L'enfer), workers (Santé) and Prostitution (this song right ere). And he mixes together a lot of different musical styles and instruments we can find around the world. On top of everything that’s already in the comments, I would just like to add a detail I haven’t yet seen: if I remember correctly Stromae said in one of his interviews that telling the sex worker’s story from all different points of view, except for the sex worker’s one, was on purpose to illustrate how society doesn’t give a voice to sex workers and doesn’t listen to them enough. Instead everyone judges them, and takes decisions (e.g.: laws) for them, instead of listening to them and their needs, and to actually fulfil their demands. E.G.: I don’t know about Belgium, but I have heard that in France some years ago a law passed that doesn’t criminalise sex workers’ jobs, but criminalises the clients. The intention of this law was to “protect” the sex workers, but, first, it doesn’t make any sense, and, apart from this, there are two negative points to it. 1: Clients are discouraged, since it is now illegal, so sex workers have less work, earn less money and it becomes more difficult for them to survive; but most importantly, 2: the job becomes way more dangerous than it was before, because the clients that still come despite the law making it illegal for them are usually not the “nicest ones”, whereas, before, more respectful and thus safe clients would come and everything would go well. So this puts sex workers in great danger and, on top of this, since they earn less money, they don’t have the choice of refusing clients they consider unsafe, because they wouldn’t survive otherwise. The result has been an increase in hate crimes (violence and murders) committed against them. But society doesn’t care. Sex workers have demanded multiple times for the law to be changed, but from what I know nothing has changed yet, and this awful situation still remains the same. There are a few documentaries on this topic on TH-cam but they are in French unfortunately, and I don’t think they have English subtitles, but I might be wrong. Apart from this, excellent reaction video! I’m glad you liked the song and the video, which I really like as well. I also hope you were able to dig a bit more into the meaning.
Well, this is YOUR very personal point of view about prostitution and laws, it's not the point of the song. In the song, Stromae denounces the hypocrisy of everybody for putting all the blame on the prostitute when she belongs to a system where they all play a role : the pimp, the client, the police officer (Eva Avila). He gives voice to her son, who stands for his mother with pride to say to the word how good of a mother she was, giving him good care and joy (Fils de Joie), despite facing so much violence.
@@BeersBars sorry for my language: I am French ;-) And speaking of Belgian celebrities with Stromae, if you haven't already, drink a good dark beer made by the Trappist fathers, the 'Chimay' ;)

Nah bro he started as a rapper, and he was kinda REALLY GOOD
The beat is brazilian funk
stromae it's maestro in reverse
Thanks for you reaction to 'Fils de Joie' of Stromae.
Please, react to :

@@BeersBars sorry for my language: I am French ;-)
And speaking of Belgian celebrities with Stromae, if you haven't already, drink a good dark beer made by the Trappist fathers, the 'Chimay' ;)
Your English is better than our French, we can assure you that 🍻 Love Chimay, and more Stromae incoming this weekend!!

I think you 2 will like RM's "wild flawer" and "still life ft.anderson paak" by RM again
I also recomend "Arson" and "More" by J-hope
Both of those artistes are korean so if you actualy react to it dont forget the CC's
you could react to "cancer", a must
He’s talking about three different pov’s of how people see sex workers. The first is her , the second verse is her “pimp” and the last is about a customer belittling her. The chorus is what her son thinks of her and how he was treated because his mother was a sex worker.
Stromae is on another level, man. He’s a true artist. Also, here’s a link to a video of him talking about this song. He has one of these for every track on this album. th-cam.com/video/cgL1YXw4ENI/w-d-xo.html
On another note, it looks like y’all mostly react to hip-hop, but if you ever want to check out some rock, I’d love to watch you react to this one! th-cam.com/video/fTvJ1TYORJg/w-d-xo.html

Before exploding with "Alors on danse", he also created "les leçons de stromae", where as a beat maker and rapper, he shows how he simply create music, it worth the watch! here is lesson 1 ith-cam.com/video/QcwqgDsiyvI/w-d-xo.html
How you guys missed the funeral intor title to the song lmaaao
Si era su cabello xd
can i recommend,”jordan - fire in the booth”
Yes you can!! Added to the (lengthy) list!
I was thinking. For non-French speaking watchers/reviewers etc..., indeed it can, at times, be annoying to read both the subs as watch the scene. If you're on a chromium based browser, there are certain extensions that can position the subs. TH-cam tweaks is such an extension. Probably there are addons for firefox as well. Just sayin'.
Thanks 👍
@@BeersBars I just noticed man. You're drinking Tremens! Brewery's about 15 minutes from my place. Gezondheid!

@@BeersBarsAMEN🤤🥵😂😂
the crowd is cgi
Only the crowd though. All the dancers were real. And there were plenty.
first of all he is stromae not stromai. stro-ma-e, like Maestro you americans really have problems of pronunciation. and he is not a opera singer he is a rapper and you feel it because french sounds deep from the throat and especially because he is afro Belgian.
Great commentary, but too many interruptions.
I don’t like that you have to stop every time you want to say something. Just let it keep going and talk over it
Do you don't like Orelsan? Why???
A video react aboit Orelsan ... I would really like it....
