IMO this would make a great luxury daily commuter. You don't need much practicality for trips to and from the office, golf course, and mistresses' condo.
I don't think you could get a weekly food shop in that boot though, and that's too frustrating. Also you couldn't fit 2 people's luggage for a weekend away, so your mistress fantasy doesn't work either. In all honesty I feel that my Jag XK8 does everything this car does, but far better, and 20 years earlier.
@@logan86123 The mistress park is a callback to the review logan as he references a mistress. Plus if you're going to her condo it's not a weekend getaway and you need no luggage.
@@aceofspades6667 Just to clarify, I know it was a reference. Saying 'your' in that context isn't meant to attribute ownership of the mistress fantasy to you personally, it's just a British colloquialism to use 'your' in that context as you were discussing it. Anyway I still disagree about the mistress, you might want to take her somewhere. And my point was, owning an XK8 with totally useless back seats, having a really good sized boot is a really saving grace, and I have filled it with luggage for only 2 people a few times, and it's at least twice as big as the boot in this Lexus.
Asking for massage seats in a sports coupe GT car is absurd. And using price point as a justification that it must have massaging seats is also dumb. The base 911 is in the same price range and I've never heard anyone complain that it doesn't have massaging seats.
Me and my wife bought this car BECAUSE OF YOU SavageGeese, and let us tell you what role this car fills. My wife and I have no kids and we we didn’t want a Porsche because we never went to the track. We didn’t want a Mustang because it felt like a toy in the interior. We didn’t want a Maserati, an Audi or a Mercedes because we wanted something reliable, but unique. This Lexus is the only car on the market that makes you feel special, and is also confidence inspiring because it’s reliable. If you want to put 10,000kms on it per year, we know it will be fine; we don’t have to treat this car like a supercar. This car is absolutely perfect for us. We also have a Highlander, but we’ve put more KMs on the Lexus than the Toyota and we don’t cringe at the thought of doing so. So please, realize what this car does from the perspective of someone who’s not only paying real money to buy it, but also keep it
Anybody who complains about lack of seat massaging options or entertainment unit, should drive a hand gestured, perfume scented German machine for rest of his life, this is one of a kind luxury vehicle beyond this dude’s comprehension.
I also bought the 2018 V8 LC500 based on being impressed by goose's last review and test driving it. Although the LC will at times frustrate you, stepping into any other GT car since, has made me realise how astonishingly good it is. It is a complete car which does bring an emotional connection with the driver. The BMW 8-series feels cheap inside, Aston Martin Vantage feels like a garbage can and the engine has no character, merc S class coupe is sterile and again no character. I actually don't mind the infotainment system on the LC. It is super quick to use when used to it. Also the TC can be completely defeated with no warnings flashing to annoy you which helps in the "fun" department. I keep trying to sell it and move on to something else (I usually change weekend cars every year) but I simply can't
this car is awesome, beautiful, comfortable, and fast. You can't analyze it rationally because it is a work of art. You mention the emotional connection initially, then you try to analyze it. The split personality is you. The car is just the car, and thank God for that.
I can’t understand how you’re not at 1 million subs yet. Love your videos, the attention to detail, and the technical knowledge. Keep up the good work!
You guys cost me money last year with the CTS-V video (I bought one) now it looks like I'm going to spend even more on one of these. That was an underwhelming review for an amazing car. I think your own confusion and bias about the LC500 should be muted to yourself. This car is fantastic and deserves the utmost praise for what it is. A blended GT Sports Coupe.
Totally agree!!! He's like, "I love this car, but every time I got out of it, I couldn't help but wonder where this car sits in the market.... And because of that totally pointless thought and measurement of the cars value, I have decided that it is not a good car!!!" Like what kinda bullshit is that??? It doesn't matter where it sits in the lineup or class. If its an amazing, special car that makes you feel incredibly special. Thats ALL THAT MATTERS!!! To me it seems like an absolutely FANTASTIC vehicle!!!
Good video. One thing though, to understand what this car is you have to look at it with fresh eyes. What it is , is a beautiful ,well built, comfortable, reliable cruiser and when you want or need it has enough power to satifly for normal public roads. If your looking for a race car then get yourself a race car, if your looking for alot of space get a SUV/Truck . But if you want to feel true luxury, if you want to have beautiful craftsmanship get the Lexus. Lexus has a special feeling that makes you smile even though you know its not the fastest, it doesn't matter because people are always looking.
You're gonna buy one for the channel once you hit 300k subs aren't you lol. I can already see it. Do it! You deserve it for the content you're putting out.
This or the AM Vantage with a 4-liter AMG engine? Imagine long term repairs (and depreciation) on the Aston... MB engine in a British car. ::shudders:: Like a match made in Hell. I'll take the LC. That 5-liter engine has over 300k in a few IS-F's with nary a hiccup. I tend to prefer my cars not being pieces of unreliable, overpriced shit. The Aston is 150% the cost of the LC. Japanese engineering all DAY.
I could forgive this car for feeling a little numb. It's just so beautiful and sounds so good. As long as I have the gorgeous sound, the feeling of my body being pulled back into those lovely seats, I'd be perfectly content with this awesome machine.
@@pianofry1138 idk, i wouldnt compare this to those cars simply because theyre coupes. This car is a work of art. It's much more expensive than those two and has much more attention to detail and prestige baked into it.
Great Mr. Goose impression, but you forgot to say, “...and that’s one of the (best/worst/most frustrating) things about (driving this car, this interior, etc.).”
My 70-year old Aunt bought one of these, but the convertible. A few months after she bought it she went on vacation abroad and pretty much said have fun with it while I'm away. With only 35 miles on the ODO when I first fired it up, it was a week to remember. The first time I took it out I expected to get bored with it after an hour, bring it back, and not drive it again. I literally could not stop myself from wanting to drive it more. I took it on backroads, through the city, pretty much everywhere. This car attracts attention like you wouldn't believe. I had a guy in a Hurrican practically break his neck as I drove past him. It literally made my day. I had no trouble getting up the next day because I knew I'd get to drive it again. Long story short, by the time my Aunt returned the car had nearly 1000 miles on it, and somehow months later, the car still only has about that same milage on it that I was responsible for. I can't believe she hasn't put 5k on it already given how insanely good it is to drive. I know if it were mine it would have at least that much if not way, way more.
well in deference to your Aunt, she probably just dives her LC 500 as needed every day, she does not 'joy ride' the vehicle, so maybe you will one day inherit a nice low-milage LC 500.
Dude, if you can't have fun in this car, you can't have fun in any car. Lexus didn't spend all that time on engineering, design, performance and reliability so you wouldn't have fun. This machine exudes FUN at every level. If you want an 800 h.p. race car, don't buy this automobile. It does 0-60 in 4.4 seconds and that isn't slow, it's just not as fast as a Veyron costing $2 million dollars. As a lucky guy who owns one of these magnificent machines, I can tell you flat out that it's a car built for public roads and will do anything you want it to do except stupid stuff which usually results in death. I hate to break it to you but you are not a professional race car driver and you're not driving at LeMans. So, don't be a dipshit and tell us you can't have fun in a LC500. That simply isn't true. It's as fun as fun gets without getting naked.
I know that spending a lot of money on a car is stupid in a financial sense, but damn... every time I look outside my window and see my white Lexus RC F, it makes me happy. Now imagine it with your dream car. Be it a Lexus LC, Porsche 911, Lamborghini Aventador, etc. It just looks fucking amazing.
This car has been on the top of my list of vehicle goals since it came out. Thanks-a-million for this video and making sure everybody knows absolutely every pro+con to this car!
"Wants to kill fun" Lexus has a knack for that..... It really feels like they try to make the driving experience so "safe" that most of their vehicles will bore you to death. My show-stoppers on their car is that the infotainment interface is atrocious. BTW...Very well done video. Thoughtful comments. Much appreciated.

Sure, the trunk is small but not unusable and you can put stuff on the back seat. How much stuff do you want to bring with you? Imo it's perfectly fine as a GT car. That's just a 100% american quirk "OMG only 1 cupholder, this car is useless!!!"
You have to wonder why only 1 cup holder, why the limited space cause it lacks what a GT is. I think it tries to be jack of all trades and master of none. I do admire this car and what Toyota tried attempted to achieve with it.
Agreed, but if there is a deficiency in a vehicle and the customer complain about it, it is the obligation of the Lexus Japan staff to make these changes and not to sit on their duffs since 2017 and only introduce minor changes. The horrible track pad is one such example, so too is that of the small trunk and non-folding rear seats!
I test drove this car a few months ago, and I am still in love, sadly it is not selling well here in Germany, and new it is a bit out our my price range. but I will get one as soon as possible
These cars are made for the true car enthusiasts, for those who wants to stand out, those who look back twice after they have parked their car and those who appreciate real fundriving.
@Mansour Q.; I completely disagree with your statement. This is anything but a true car enthusiasts car. No Manual Transmission just for starters. This is a luxury GT machine for the 60 and over crowd. They don’t care nor want a manual transmission. They want quiet, reliable, sporty comfort in their new “sports car “ Lexus hit the nail on the head with this one but lack of storage space really sucks. No one will cross shop this with a Corvette or anything serious like that. 🥳
The purpose of this vehicle is to be a work of art. It impresses at the country club, the executive parking lot, and at the high class club on the weekends. I've seen them here in Scottsdale, driven by 60-ish corporate executive types and bleach-blonde trophy wives.....
The shoot when jack is accelerating and you also have the tach visible is amazing! Art! Also such a great car, such a great engine. The design is gorgeous. Truly something BMW could learn from. One of the few great Lexus left. A manual option would be perfect but I'm realistic. Somewhat. Also Lexus, get a damn touch screen and Android Auto already.
I test drove the LC500 last year. I agree:it doesn't fit a role. I wanted it as a daily driver with occasional long distance travel. But there is not enough space!!! No place to put my phone, no place to put my sunglasses, ... This car is huge but interior space feels cramped. Oh and the final nail in the coffin: the infotainment system. 1990 indeed.
Hey don't say that. There are millions of Americans stuck with that god awful infotainment system. I would know since I bought my Wife a 2019 Rx350 F-sport. She likes the infotainment system, but then again her last car didn't even have a screen.
I think the role it is supposed to fill is being the best road car ever. And when I say road car, I mean roads with speed limits. Can’t utilize the handling and speed of a Porsche or Corvette on the road making the sensations of this very satisfying

Seeing one of these cars up close is amazing. Video does it no justice. It is exceptionally elegant. Only in person you can see the width and different angles and how elegant the curves are.
PROTOSTAR I just seen one today and I must say .... this car is amazing in person .... the rear end of this car will get you lost .... it’s gorgeous car ... can’t please everyone ... there’s gonna be people who would hate money ! Why wouldn’t they hate on something so good looking like this !
Thanks to Savagegeese I bought one earlier this year as well. Love my daily commute! A couple of gremlins but nothing is perfect in life. Keep the channel up!
Don't want to lose the practicality of my GS-F, otherwise it would be my daily driver.
Maybe I should get the cab for the weekends/special occasions.
id love to own a lexus, but here in germany even used ones will cost u a kidney. a nice 2011 isf goes for 40k and a nice gsf starts at 60k and the only cars they offer these days are 2.0 hybrids.... all these lemmings buying bmw, merc and audi without even looking at different brands make it hard for lexus and us used car guys :(
if only I could have more money =[
Leviathan Damn I feel bad for you :( a 2008 Lexus ISF cost about 25k and up here
What gremlins How is it I believe Iam going to buy one the reviews made up my mind
IMO this would make a great luxury daily commuter. You don't need much practicality for trips to and from the office, golf course, and mistresses' condo.
Exactly, take your brief case to the office. Commute in typical traffic with this beaut
Exactly. You buy this to turn heads while fighting rush hour traffic. Not race Lamborghinis
Even the so-called "review experts" do not possess the capability to understand that "price point" is a fairly useless indicator.
Probably there is an option to order one with massage seats
Jack Singapore is a great speaker and reviewer like Mark and everyone else from the channel. No muss, no fuss, just honest opinions

Right I’m like are we all pretending we all didn’t hear that 😂
Me and my wife bought this car BECAUSE OF YOU SavageGeese, and let us tell you what role this car fills.
So please, realize what this car does from the perspective of someone who’s not only paying real money to buy it, but also keep it
Shahaab Sherwani well said. I would love to add the LC as a second car beside my 2010 RX!👍🏻
Please keep Jack Singapore a part of your channel. His contemplative style is reassuring - without being polarizing.
LD ODOM his intro comedy bit was cringe. It fits mr goose more and feels fake with him. His introspective takes are good
Anybody who complains about lack of seat massaging options or entertainment unit, should drive a hand gestured, perfume scented German machine for rest of his life, this is one of a kind luxury vehicle beyond this dude’s comprehension.
I would rock that car 100% for sure, especially since it sounds so good when you step on it. Reliable quality that's for sure.
Plus it won't cost you 20 plus grand over the life of the car for ridiculously expensive repairs.
What's frustrating you about the LC?
this car is awesome, beautiful, comfortable, and fast.

Sexiest Lexus ever, can imagine if Lexus put the glorious V10 😍
Aquaboy they already did cough LFA
SocraticMind89 something thats not limited production and something relatively affordable in the average salary man’s lifetime
This is a design from the heavens, and Lexus smeared it with dog poop re: the rear light cluster design.
The V10 will never happen. That was a LFA exclusive.

Wow, didn't know they changed so much for the 2019 model year! Happy to see, that they improved the ride quality.
Superb editing!... as usual. I'm a fan of your work. You Sir, with your honesty and down to earth comentary, are a breeze of fresh air in this era of giant companies and equally giant buys/bribes. Hats off to you, SIr. Greetings from Portugal.
And because of that totally pointless thought and measurement of the cars value, I have decided that it is not a good car!!!"
Like what kinda bullshit is that??? It doesn't matter where it sits in the lineup or class. If its an amazing, special car that makes you feel incredibly special. Thats ALL THAT MATTERS!!! To me it seems like an absolutely FANTASTIC vehicle!!!
It’s actually a great GT car but it’s exotic and looks like nothing on the road. It reminds me of SLR mclaren. And it was a damn super car.
I hope to pick one of these up used like 5-10 years from now.
It's been 5 years now, are you close to getting one? =)

I'm borderline in love with this car. Pics/video don't do it justice. Stunning in person. Glad we got to hear Jack's take on it.
Creating a car this good without a legacy is next to impossible.
It's legacy is the SC 400 and 430. This isn't the first Lexus coupe.
@@pianofry1138 idk, i wouldnt compare this to those cars simply because theyre coupes. This car is a work of art. It's much more expensive than those two and has much more attention to detail and prestige baked into it.
Finally, an unbiased perspective. I also appreciated the comparison to the 2018 model.
I've always thought it was such a beautiful car, especially in white
thanks guys, your honesty and in-depth research and testing are superior to any other similar site !!!

"Wants to kill fun" Lexus has a knack for that..... It really feels like they try to make the driving experience so "safe" that most of their vehicles will bore you to death. Pretty much Toyota as a whole. That's why I prefer Honda for fun
2:54 - The 1995 / 1998 Windows UI made a lot more sense than the present day one in W10. The control panel and display options especially, were all nice and tidy - everything you needed was in one spot.
In W10, they tried to make everything look and work like an internet page, but it's just one rabbit hole after another and simple task stretch out like snot, sometimes even opening up menus from older Windows systems after 10 clicks when they used to be 2 clicks away at any time.

I think the big problem this car has is the 911. The LC500 is beautiful, but the 911 is a better sports car, and also an amazing GT car. It's a great daily as well. The LC500 is more exclusive and looks great though. But the 911 seems to do everything a little better...
The benefit this car has over the 911, is that it is NOT a 911. The guy who buys this owns a Grand Seiko, not a Rolex
@@raullasvegas You've got the watch thing the wrong way round. The one thing you can say about Lexus owners is their brand focus.

@Mansour Q.; I completely disagree with your statement. This is anything but a true car enthusiasts car. No Manual Transmission just for starters. This is a luxury GT machine for the 60 and over crowd. They don’t care nor want a manual transmission.
