The great wise wizard of the double bass! This world will miss you dearly Mr. Peacock but your name and your legend will live on forever as you’ve earned your place in that pantheon reserved to the very few. May your beautiful music guide you to your ascension!
As an aspiring musician myself, Gary Peacock has been an inspiration to me. His musicianship and creativity have gotten me through the darkest of times, and I am deeply grateful to exist on the planet at the same time as such a true genius.
peacock and lafaro. iam glad peacock is still with us. following him since early sixties. a giant!!!...i wonder what kind of bass he is playing and how long has he had it?
Front side of the beat. He talked about this in theory class. He also really understood the M.O. of every other significant bassist. Like Charlie Haydan landed on the middle of the beat.
None taken, but i gotta ask, do you play the upright bass? Even the pros go out of tune from time to time. We have good days and bad days, nature of the beast.
RIP Gary Peacock. Such a master musician, great person.
Not dead....
@@contrebassearchet he is now

I'm a bassist, I have more rights than you
Why didn't he talk about balls when he talked about body relaxation techniques
"Base on Balls"?
No offense, but am I the only one to think that his playing is sometimes out of tune when he demonstrates the C major scale?
