I actually agree with the comment, Andy. This actually isn’t my favorite Angelina video, not because of her performance (which is brilliant) but because I’m just not a huge fan of the song. I *am* a big fan of Angelina’s performances with all forms of instrumental accompaniment, right up to the full orchestra. But these “basement recordings” are the true test of someone’s raw vocal skills. We don’t see a lot of performances like this from some of the other big names out there, like the”D-word”. 😂 Angelina’s image is not manicured or manipulated. She puts herself out there, and has proven over and over that she can thrive in any setting and with any amount of accompaniment, including none. I think that may be a long-winded way of saying something roughly similar to what Mimi was saying. 😐

When she turned 12, she received this terrific Neumann microphone for her birthday present (very expensive). A few months later she recorded 3 of my all time Angelina favorites within a month of each other; each with this mike and just Ivan Mendes on the acoustic guitar. "Stay" is one of those, and it is absolutely Wonderful! Sorry Rhianna, but it's better than the original. Flipping out was a common expression in the late 1960's & thru the 70's here in the US. You will be "flipping out" many times as you listen to more of Angelina. I've been an Angelina fan for several years, so no more flipping for me. I just sit back in quiet awe of her musical brilliance and enjoy. Additionally, she is a quality human being, which adds to my appreciation of her.

I actually agree with the comment, Andy. This actually isn’t my favorite Angelina video, not because of her performance (which is brilliant) but because I’m just not a huge fan of the song. I *am* a big fan of Angelina’s performances with all forms of instrumental accompaniment, right up to the full orchestra. But these “basement recordings” are the true test of someone’s raw vocal skills. We don’t see a lot of performances like this from some of the other big names out there, like the”D-word”. 😂 Angelina’s image is not manicured or manipulated. She puts herself out there, and has proven over and over that she can thrive in any setting and with any amount of accompaniment, including none. I think that may be a long-winded way of saying something roughly similar to what Mimi was saying. 😐

She is absolutely wonderful, both as a singer and as a person. She feels the songs and conveys those feelings to the listener better than any singer I know today. When she turned 12, she received this terrific Neumann microphone for her birthday present (very expensive). A few months later she recorded 3 of my all time Angelina favorites within a month of each other; each with this mike and just Ivan Mendes on the acoustic guitar. Flipping out was a common expression in the late 1960's & thru the 70's here in the US. You will be "flipping out" many times as you listen to more of Angelina. I've been an Angelina fan for several years, so no more flipping for me. I just sit back in quiet awe of her musical brilliance and enjoy. Additionally, she is a quality human being, which adds to my appreciation of her.

This is a very beautiful song, but the Angelina's version, without mixing, recorded at home, with the simple guitar of Ivan Mendez to accompany her with much discretion (as always), it's an incredible emotional interpretation, especially considering that it's a 12 year old girl who sings it with a sweet and scratched voice, absolutely unique and without particular vowels games. 😊 ❤️ 😊
