I know right, they did such an incredible job at brining these characters to life. I honestly can’t think of a character in gaming with as much soul as Arthur.
Want to know the beautiful thing about Arthur's final moments? He died watching the east rising sun. To symbolize the new beginning. The new life that he's given John. The only one that made it. He thought about John and Abigail in his final moments. God I love this game so much.
it always gets me too. I think Arthur believes he cant be redeemed nor do i believe he wants to be after the bad deeds that he has done. He is a very humbled man
I think its so heart breaking because Arthur is a character who tended to be so emotionally closed off and hearing him say that shows just how scared he really is
I'd like to say 2 things: 1. This game is a masterpiece and will forever be my top video game 2. Thank you for this video sir, a well deserved tribute to the greatest protagonist in gaming history (ARTHUR MORGAN)
This is undoubtedly my top video game and i dont believe any game will be able to top it too. Ive never played another game which has been remotely close to what RDR2 has to offer. Im glad you liked the video too!

@@Kiwi-gn8tf i didn't said you say that i said i dont think he would cry neither arthur or john have the habits to drop tears the only time arthur did was when he said he is affraid they both learned to keep their emotion inside and how they feel and since john has much more difficulty at expressing is feeling the only thing he had the courage of saying is "you're my brother" i never wrote you said he cryed like a baby sorry if i you thought i said it that way
For some reason this game makes me think of my father who left when I was young, I was fortunate enough to have a good relationship with him. But we never exactly said the things we should have to each other like “I’m sorry” and “I understand” he passed via cancer and he was in some rough shape when he went, couldn’t walk, couldn’t speak…but somehow in his eyes and through the words he tried so hard to mutter… I seen his REDEMPTION
I hope your father managed to find his peace and i hope you are doing alright since his passing. I think being able to relate things like this game to your dad keeps his memory alive
‘Face the setting sun’ Maybe I didn’t see it right, but it looked like he faced the rising sun, as the life and hope he helped to save and raise, before he breathed his last.
I see it as Arthur having a change of perspective as the game goes on, putting on the front of a thug to do what the gang needs to to survive, while looking back on the good times they had, and eventually he turns around and realises what's really important and turns to see the rising sun as symbolic of the new start he gave John and his family, he's thinking less about what the gang was and more toward the future he just gave John, Abigail, and Jack. It's really a fantastic character development throughout the story that we love Arthur by the end and are touched by his sacrifice and self depreciation. He really tried.
My first playthrough when the Rhodes storyline came up Arthur was hunting for alligator pelts around the Marshes when he found a man walking on the road. He got bit by a snake earlier and Arthur could tell he was going to die without help, so he put him on his horse. The nearest clinic was St Denis, a place he's never been before. The life meter was draining away as he swerved through the town not caring about who he burst through. When he got to the clinic Arthur saw this doctor take him in. The snake venom seeped in so much the doctor told him he had to amputate it. Arthur didn't have to stay and watch but he did. Least he could be there when he wakes up. He didn't get anything from him, no money, no free gun, but that was the most memorable side quest I've done in any game, and I didn't know the doctor was the same man who would tell Arthur his time on Earth was done when I got to that part. RDR2 is a gift to humanity
Fun fact..: Go back to Saint Denis some time later, he is being hanged for murdering a girl, poor guy deserved help in the moment but leaving him to die ultimately saves the innocent lady he killed
Why does it feel so long ago that this game came out, I remember when it was the shit. I miss my first play through when I didn’t know what was going to happen, my second was my 100 percent play through which felt just as fulfilling if not more. The characters and the story are all so amazingly well crafted and it makes me so sad that I’ll never experience it the same way I did when it released. I reckon I’ll do a third play through soon, I’ll give it a little time just like before I did my second one so it all feels new again.
This game along with GTA 4 were the first games to ever make me cry, this game when Arthur feels and starts to change for the good and helps the Downs family, and then Johns family, just Arthur giving his things to John and turning away for one last stand is one of the best things a game did to me, in the end John did the same, putting family first and stayed and died for the ones he loved and he got all that from Arthur
When I first played this game I got the feels. I was crying for 2 hours or more when Arthur died. Reminds me of Joel from the last of us 2. Those are my most favorite characters from those games. I cried for Joel too.

the sorrow that the violin chords so well express at 1:12 - 1:43 is gut wrenching. I felt it would be so hard to make a character that i could love in the same way as John when we went thru RDR but they did it. Arthur is amazing.
