I built specialists on Ares the other day thinking about how the mana sustain and CDR would be really nice at the beginning, and justifying it with the fact that almost all his damage comes from DoTs, so I was almost guaranteed 6 stacks per rotation. Where it really shined, though, was when the movement speed kicked in. You hit your chains and you can just run circles around people.
Talisman is good for extended teamfights. Talisman of energy is also exceptionally great in Assault or game modes where you cannot return to base, for the situation being that mp5 you still gain for your entire team as they clear waves and as long as they are near to get the stacks. The thing is heartward amulet is good for that steady stream of mp5 for your team but talisman just provides a burst of mp5 along with movement speed. Also on assault, build talisman of energy and then heartward your team will never run out of mana as long as they aren't throwing all 3 abilities out off cooldown. Hell even if you manage to run into minions on the way while chasing a god, kill them as long as you have the damage to one hit them without basic attacking them and you'll eventually catch up. Too long didn't read (tldr); Talisman: Good for burst mp5, extended teamfights and teamfights in general. Good for escapes and chases, even better sustain if paired up with heartward amulet. A staple when the situation requires it or want to build it over heartward. Or both if your going double protection your mages will thank you, especially healers.
Sheezers. I usually ignored some items because I thought enemies meant that it activated only on gods, but now I feel like so many more options are available to me! Talisman of Energy is really good for Assault, I should research items more
What's funny is all of the auras you mentioned are items I WOULD use more often if I had more friends to play the game with, but since I dont trust randoms within 20 feet of me, the only aura I end up building regularly is mystical mail
The best item no one built was Shamans Ring. They removed it because no one built it, but that shit was OP af! Every god could benefit from it heavily, especially once they added cooldown instead of speed. It was lowkey one of, if not THE strongest item in the game, yet no one used it. My theory was that due to it being under rings, and the strange stacking mechanic on it, no one bothered picking it up. 110 power, 10% cdr, and 10% extra damage was super strong. Even single hit gods like scylla could benefit, hit a root and get a 10% extra damage crush. I hope one day they bring back shamans ring, and revert magus back to what it was. Magus is just a more niche shamans ring now.
Shamans was only that good when it had movement speed, when they removed the MS and gave it CDR im pretty sure it was just a worse Spear of Deso that you had to stack to be good
If I'm picking up Spear of the Magus it's usually to assist with burning objectives or if the enemy team has an aggressive dive. I love Specialist Blessing in Assault if I die before I return with enough gold to build boots. Winged Blade is a tricky one. The last few seasons there has been such a strong emphasis on building like a glass canon or Hybrid tank and the unique utility of Winged Blade doesn't really fit in to those kind of builds too well. Bulwark is great when you're in solo lane vs a mage cos usually means there are two mages on the team. Talisman is another item I love in Assault.
I aurea with all of these items and wanna add these; 1. Charon's Coin 2. Contagion 3. Soul Ester 4. Witchblade 5. Midgardian Mail 6. Emperor's Armor 7. Stone of Binding (people abandon the item after nerfs but actually its still great for that price) 8.Pridwen 9.Magic Shell(people still buy meditation cloak omg) 10. Runeforged Hammer (50 physical power 200+ health and amazing passive) Actualy hammer tree in general very underrated.
I agree, the only way I see the new stone of fal working is if you have another tank in the team that is already building defense for tanking then you can use it to become tankier. Other than that if everyone is just doing offensive it would be pretty much useless.
Stone of Fal is supposed to be build by mages imho. If the enemy team has a heavy magical damage comp, you can leech even more magical defense from your tank who, most likely, already built Thebes and Heartward to help you out. The item is good but it' VERY situational. Works really well on Assault where you sometimes see 4 mage comps due to bad luck on rerolls. For the item to be good in any situation, some changes are necessary tho.
@@moonjune29 the problem is that in the actual meta no one is gonna have a heavily focus magic damage team, as % pen on mages are shit, and so is flat. if you build 3 items of magic defense, the mages can only see you and surrender (if they re not scylla, as she has more % defense reduction in her 2 than any magical item) but yes, it can give you up to 105 magic defense (magic defense caps at 325, which 20% is 65 + 40 base)
In joust for a god like ah puch it can be really helpful with a aura tank who gave u so much defence combine with this passive. But in the other hand god like artio who are not all the time near you it's useless
Atalanta's bow is just an item that after using it so much with Heimdallr I just wanna use it on most other ADCs just because that extra speed that can save you using your dash/escape to keep chasing someone. Plus that attack speed is always nice to have.
I often build talisman of energy on support. Situationally a much better support item if you're ahead even slightly. Gets your team snowballing very quickly.
I completely agree with this entire list. I use a lot of these items because they are all so good. Caduceus Shield and Talisman of Energy are two great items that make the solo laneing warrior more effective in late game team fights.
I wish I had a recording of the first time Talisman of energy was released because I wish I could have shown you it. Literally used it for the movement speed. Literally kept quoting run jokes from different movies.
You can think of "Bulwark of Hope " as an item with 600 hp at max level that doesn't get countered by quin' s sais and heartseeker. Just a beautiful choice .
People simply don't build those items as much because they don't have as much offensive and most are somewhat focused on support or counter building. Talisman of energy is truly really good for support when combined with other speed boosts like the winged shoes relic or heartward amulet for increasing the mp5 even further. But honestly I agree overall but I would also add many of those items are also niche items.
I hadn't realized that Energy Talisman gave quite that much MP5. But Stone of Gaia is definitely underrated. People think it sucks because Antiheal is so strong, but it really doesn't.
Never use it much in other modes, but Talisman of Energy is nearly always a must buy for me on Assault. I don't think I have to explain why the passive is good in that mode, but.. you pretty much get infinite mana.
@@devonhoward8620 that's what I thought, but I swear I remember Duke mentioning that it wasn't supposed to work against lifesteal or something like that and now I can't find video.
The hell? I've been building this items. MAINLY cad shield. It's god tier item in any warrior whit a Heal. It makes Mulan unstopabble, her heals get insane midgame. I think playing only conquest limits the sight of the players too much, some of these items are SSS tier in other modes, such as Gaia in Assault, Tal of energy in arena. Conquest players unlearned a fundamental aspect of this game: counterbuilding. smh
@@barrelrolljones3837 Lifesteal isn't that good on Jorm. Both his autos and abilites are AoE so he only gets 33% lifesteal from his kit. Check the Word of Thoth smite mechanics guide.
Im honestly surprised Oni's didnt get at least a mention. I never see it built (except when i build it) and it's actually pretty good, it gives 20% anti CC, mana sustain, 60 (i think) magical def and 100 hp which by itself is not bad at all, but on top of that u get 3% mitigation for each enemy nearby, max 3 so basically 9% mitigation if u can afford to go in that makes u pretty tanky so it's likely u will be able to do so. Idk if it's just my personal experience but that's how i see it, maybe it has to do smth with the fact that i play mostly joust, but this item is even better in that gamemode so idk. Is there something i'm not seeing that makes it a bad item? Just an anecdote: last time i used it with a friend we were doing double warrior frontline (KA + Achilles, aka double A for us) and we convinced the enemy herc to build it through complete abuse of it. it's so funny we managed to mitigate almost 120k dmg in a 30 min joust and every enemy player had penetration
I think shoguns is still undervalued. I almost never see people buy it, and it can be a really strong item in solo lane especially. It's strong enough that it can even be good in duel, where you aren't making use of the aura.
I build most on this list, but sometimes i likes to build Sylvanus or Artio with Specialist blessing for the lulz and it works. And, again, just for the meme, i like to build Odín or Nike full shields, so i build Bulwark and Urchin, plus Shell, and the other shield i forgot the name, with dice shields barely anything can kill me:v Artio with Talismán of Energy works sometimes too.
mate, why are you putting atalanta's as an alternative to hastened? you build both on a vamana, maybe with some crit (wind demon), and you go turbo on his ult
I alwyse build atalantas bow instead of Obow, i think it is stronger specially on hunters as a sixth item. You can combine atalantas with toxic Star and reach sole level of hastened fatalis effect, can he increased using frostbound yet it is not that viable. Thanks for the rrcommendations, i deffinitively will ve building this ítems more now.
I build Staff of Myrddin on Aphro and Artio.....Aphro can get either a double heal or a double stomp off and it kills, and Artio can get a double stun with the bear’s roar
Maybe its cuz i mainly play duel (D2), and its a healer/hunter meta...but i literally build all of these (at least 1 per game/matchup) almost every game i can think of. But like i said, it may be cuz i play an underrated gamemode based on counterplay. But nice vid
Jokes on you, I'm a Ganesha main I build alot of these things all time. Talisman of Energy specifically has been a brutal power play people don't see coming.
Yeah Cad Shield is great, and using it on someone like Horus or Guan or even Chaac is amazing because if your healer gets Rod of Tauhiti instead of asclepius their healing will go through the roof. Granted that's in combat and below 50% hp. It's nasty. Thanks @FineOkay for preaching it every time he picks it up.
Your attacks ignore a specific amount of the target's armor. In the case of 15 flat pen, you ignore 15 points of defense that whatever god you're hitting has.
So if someone has 70 magical protections and i have 30 pen then only 40 protections would be effective. That seems like it would be better against squishies than tankier targets
That's correct in the case of flat pen. 30 flat pen would bring 70 prots down to 40, 80 to 50, and so on. Flat pen is generally used against units that don't build much in the way of armor, such as ADCs. Percentage penetration (%) on the other hand removes a percent amount based on the targets prots, so as an example, 20% percentage pen would take 200 prots down to 160, and is generally used against tanks and other units that tend towards building more armor, with the trade off being that you're getting little bang for your buck against squishies.
If in doubt, buy stone of Gaia, that's my rule. And if I build it, I go attack and attack and attack. NB: It's not about conquest but about other maps.
All these items are just situational. That’s why people don’t build them. People blindly follow a meta and then just call gods broken when they get beat by the same build, when they could just use counter items
What was the comp if you remember? I played against double nox double Hercules in infinite assault and I wanted to kill myself. It never really occurred to me though that you can do full healers in Conquest but shouldn't be that hard :) got Yemoja, Terra, Sylvanus, Guan Yu, Horus, Aphrodite, Hel, Chang'e, Cupid, and Baron Samedi. They could make a sensible team, ignoring Gods with more self-sustain. I'd include an assassin for fun but I can't think of one with team heals.
Rawk Hawk Yemoja, Hades, Thanatos, Chaac, and Skadi. As you can see almost all heals. Despite this I got hate for saying they should consider anti-heal. Duo got complete stomped btw.
Dude those are my favorite games. Especially when you just type "antiheal please?" Trying not to sound like a dick, and just get spam laughed everytime I died cause nobody wanted to help 😬
I like theory crafting, but I'm often afraid if I build anything that is a typical or not meta I'll get flamed. Glad I'm not the only one that sees ToE as good.
Your teammates can be salty as long as you aren't the direct reason for a loss. It happens in every single competitive game when a meta exists. You can't get away from it, even if meta is 1% better
Would it be more "efficient" to translate [Stone of Fal] current effects into a flat, additive magical %percentage% defense per allied 'nearby' god; say that as an example the receiving subject gains 1-3% magical protections per allied god within 70 to 100 base units? From each magical protection pool of each allied nearby god, as opposed to just the 20% of the highest value magical protection allied target nearby? Or see that, per nearby god (allied/enemy) the receiving equipped subject gains flat magical protections per? Or even slightly more complex, per enemy god nearby the receiving equipped subject gains slightly less additive magical percentage 'mitigations', but in turn receives a larger block of multiplicative percentage magical 'protections' per nearby allied god (within reason)? Just a thought. I've known the futility of [Stone of Fal] for ages.
it weird i dont fallow item metas? I just buy like 2-3 popular items and slap whatever dh the situation calls for ooooor i'm tryin to have fun, ffs i usually build a tnk anubis just 2 see if i can get away with it (which i usually do SOMEHOW)
Everything's perfect except that Specialist's Blessing is not a good option for joust. At least in higher ranks where it really matters how much pressure you have in very early game. Especially with last Mage's Blessing buff - there are better options even for healers rly
Could you start putting a list of what you talk about in the descriptions. Sometimes I just want to know what the items are without hearing an explanation for em.
I use these all the time lol just depends on what god I'm using and who I'm against. Thing is, there are more commonly used god with every game you play so most of the time it doesn't call for particular item when you're trying to counter build.
Staff of Myrddin IS OP FOR ARES , I Swear if you have that move plus the Pendant as well it becomes super OP Because Ares is support anyway so imagine getting hit my SIX CHAINS LMAOOO I do it all the time , it’s soo Fun and to make it more op you can attach that one move that reduces 3s from all your cool downs when you get a God assist or Kill as well so those 3 moves plus your Shoe , and 2 Auras of your choosing is Mad OP
I think the main reason people don't build cadecues shield is because how devastating anti heals are. You get in a team fight and they run anti heals it's passive and any lifesteal you have is trash. My gf plays aphro and if the enemy team runs anti heals I've seen her heal tick go from 130+ to 20.
*me with my boy Chaac having transcendence, caduceus shield, and even a heartseeker if its super late and I can get away with it and don't need more defense* *me with Chaac's 3 healing about half my health every 10 seconds while smacking around all them* >:)

I aurea with all of these items and wanna add these;
1. Charon's Coin
2. Contagion
3. Soul Ester
4. Witchblade
5. Midgardian Mail
6. Emperor's Armor
7. Stone of Binding (people abandon the item after nerfs but actually its still great for that price)
8.Pridwen
9.Magic Shell(people still buy meditation cloak omg)
10. Runeforged Hammer (50 physical power 200+ health and amazing passive) Actualy hammer tree in general very underrated.
Stone of fal is even more shit now I miss the old passive where a single magical ability can't 1 shot u
@@moonjune29 the problem is that in the actual meta no one is gonna have a heavily focus magic damage team, as % pen on mages are shit, and so is flat. if you build 3 items of magic defense, the mages can only see you and surrender (if they re not scylla, as she has more % defense reduction in her 2 than any magical item)
but yes, it can give you up to 105 magic defense (magic defense caps at 325, which 20% is 65 + 40 base)
In joust for a god like ah puch it can be really helpful with a aura tank who gave u so much defence combine with this passive. But in the other hand god like artio who are not all the time near you it's useless
That was the Season 4 version
Atalanta's bow is just an item that after using it so much with Heimdallr I just wanna use it on most other ADCs just because that extra speed that can save you using your dash/escape to keep chasing someone. Plus that attack speed is always nice to have.
I often build talisman of energy on support. Situationally a much better support item if you're ahead even slightly. Gets your team snowballing very quickly.
I completely agree with this entire list. I use a lot of these items because they are all so good. Caduceus Shield and Talisman of Energy are two great items that make the solo laneing warrior more effective in late game team fights.
if Pythagorem IS GIVEN BACL THE CDR...
it would be amazing :)
come on HIREZ
GIVE THE CDR BACK !!!
Duke, great video as per usual. What do you think could be done/added/altered to Mail of Renewal to make it more viable or see any genuine play?
Ata Bow+Frostbound on an AA based Nemesis with either Crit or Pen build is amazing
Talisman of Energy has been my favorite item since its release. Love building it
I'm with you on Caduceus shield, Duke. The thing feels fantastic on physicals like chaac or horus. It's almost core for me at this point!
Okay, does anti heal work against lifesteal? Didn't they change something about that a few months ago?
I believe anti heals work on any healing. Lifesteal, ability heal, percentage heal, hp Regen and all
@@devonhoward8620 that's what I thought, but I swear I remember Duke mentioning that it wasn't supposed to work against lifesteal or something like that and now I can't find video.
@@IdaKicker i think you are talking about the cad shield and rod of asclepius passives, they used to buff anti heal but not anymore
Antiheal works against lifesteal. At start of Season 7 they stopped asclepius/cad shield passive from buffing lifesteal though.
@@cocogamer91 okay awesome! that's exactly what it was. thank you very much. I knew there was something...
pythag can be good on magical bruiser/divers for both objectives and off combat sustain
Conquest players unlearned a fundamental aspect of this game: counterbuilding. smh
Does talisman of energy count as an aura in the case of area passive?
I've built Cad shield on Thanatos. It be like that sometimes.
I build specialist blessing almost everygame in assault. Perfect starting item for that gamemode
Hey pythag is good in solo for magical solo because it gives a lot you need for solo healing and health but its also good bit of damage
I don't know, I prefer going lifesteal boots into something like a breastplate of valor on solos such as baron/aphro/etc. Helps with early clear
@@stepbrother.69 well I'm talking about jorm solo its really good on him because you gain 24% life steal and you gain about 3 health per damage tick
I buy cad shield with max cool down on AMA and just never die from stance changing. Get speedy boots for extra fun
I think shoguns is still undervalued. I almost never see people buy it, and it can be a really strong item in solo lane especially. It's strong enough that it can even be good in duel, where you aren't making use of the aura.
Bulwark I usually build in solo late game as a secondary magical defense item if the enemy team has a hard hitting late game mage.
If enemies have braincells they're just gonna build ankh and poop on you :(
I build cad shield on ao Kuang. So when I'm in trouble I go invisible then detonate immediately to speed out of danger.
I thought cad shield could only be bought on physical gods?
Everytime I have built Toxic blade on Kali, I have survived atleast once with
Not bad on kali I will try it thx
I alwyse build atalantas bow instead of Obow, i think it is stronger specially on hunters as a sixth item. You can combine atalantas with toxic Star and reach sole level of hastened fatalis effect, can he increased using frostbound yet it is not that viable. Thanks for the rrcommendations, i deffinitively will ve building this ítems more now.
I build Staff of Myrddin on Aphro and Artio.....Aphro can get either a double heal or a double stomp off and it kills, and Artio can get a double stun with the bear’s roar
Also run pridwen with it, and try the same on sylvanus too, thank me later 😂
Maybe its cuz i mainly play duel (D2), and its a healer/hunter meta...but i literally build all of these (at least 1 per game/matchup) almost every game i can think of. But like i said, it may be cuz i play an underrated gamemode based on counterplay. But nice vid
Jokes on you, I'm a Ganesha main I build alot of these things all time. Talisman of Energy specifically has been a brutal power play people don't see coming.
People aren't building Pythag? It's great on an offensive Gaurdian.
I build it when I go Artio, it's solid for sure
Its a good item but its not as good anymore ever since they removed the cdr
@@lowki5768 no definitely not as viable now , but still decent enough
I see it a lot tbh
It's also great on mids who can use it that also have a Transcendence hunter on the team. I like building it after Boots on Thoth in those situations.
We need to see more frostbound hammer on adcs and maybe even auto based assassins
Talisman is perfect for assault btw🤞
Someone tell me, what is flat pen? If i got a build with 25 pen does that mean thats 25 damage that punches throigh? Whats it mean?
Was really hoping he’d talk about mail of renewal that item is under appreciated
Literally played against a full healer comp and told my team to buy antiheal. I got spammed with "No" in VGS. We lost btw.
I feel your pain man
What was the comp if you remember?
Staff of Myrdin is amazing, especiall for bruiser ult bots (cerb, xing tian etc)
It's also amazing if you also run pridwen with it on sylvanus and aphrodite, ult then dbl heal 😁
Atalantas I have to be very underrated on Rama. I think he actually makes the best use of it and it is the god I see it built on the least.
it weird i dont fallow item metas? I just buy like 2-3 popular items and slap whatever dh the situation calls for ooooor i'm tryin to have fun, ffs i usually build a tnk anubis just 2 see if i can get away with it (which i usually do SOMEHOW)
spear of the magus on kuku is so good
it only works on one ability
Stone of Gaia has never left my sight ❤
I still build Magus on Raijin :D people tell me I'm stupid for it, but I think it works
Ancile is beautiful against anubis since his grab does no damage it stops his cone attack instantly
I use most of these items frequently besides Alannas bow
bulwark of hope is the item i use on pele in solo lane
People aren't building Caduceus Shield? I hardly notice because I love it on a good amount of my builds and it feels really good to use.
Talisman of Energy is a well kept secret. That's a staple in my support builds.
I use these all the time lol just depends on what god I'm using and who I'm against. Thing is, there are more commonly used god with every game you play so most of the time it doesn't call for particular item when you're trying to counter build.
This aged like milk and I love it 😂
runeforged hammer cernunnos though. Makes winter the best season for damage
Staff of Myrddin IS OP FOR ARES , I Swear if you have that move plus the Pendant as well it becomes super OP
Because Ares is support anyway so imagine getting hit my SIX CHAINS LMAOOO I do it all the time , it’s soo Fun and to make it more op you can attach that one move that reduces 3s from all your cool downs when you get a God assist or Kill as well so those 3 moves plus your Shoe , and 2 Auras of your choosing is Mad OP
kuh·doo·see·uhs, Just gonna leave this here lol maybe more people would use it if they knew how to say it
I only build tail for my support making it easier to rotate and helping my aa gods and burst mages
I think the main reason people don't build cadecues shield is because how devastating anti heals are. You get in a team fight and they run anti heals it's passive and any lifesteal you have is trash. My gf plays aphro and if the enemy team runs anti heals I've seen her heal tick go from 130+ to 20.
Cad Shield is good for out-of-combat healing, not in-combat healing. You take poke, disengage, then heal.
I actually use a lot of these items. There are a couple tho that I don't use much if at all tho.
atalanta's bow is so good on hunters like xbalanque
Cah doosh us sheild not cah du key ah
The biggest struggles of casual conquest is the lack of wards.
Then don't play casual.
I always build items others deem to be off meta. I'm a big advocate of Emperors armor. Passive is insane, the stats are kinda bad though.
It's in so many of my assault builds, especially if the enemy has chaac, Hercules or guan
*me with my boy Chaac having transcendence, caduceus shield, and even a heartseeker if its super late and I can get away with it and don't need more defense*
*me with Chaac's 3 healing about half my health every 10 seconds while smacking around all them*
>:)
Stfu
Old bacchus? Upvote
i didn't realize talisman of energy worked with minions
I’m gonna try Staff of Myrdin on Ra and try a double heal after an ult LOL
I build specialist blessing regularly, even on non-healers. Its just a constant blue buff, which is handy on a lot of characters
People aren't building pythagorem piece?? I almost always build it if I'm unsure about a last item for my solo jorm
I always build caduceus shield on bongo and Horus
Currently losing my mind over Bongo. Are you referring to Raijin or are you from a different (vastly superior) timeline where there is a god in Smite named Bongo? I am going to start calling Raijin 'Bongo' regardless now.
Wait, is this a reference to Guan Yu?
spear of the magus is my fav item
Jokes on you. I'm new player, don't watch pro league and use most of them. In fact I didn't know about 2 of them existing, which one of them was top1, but I don't think the rest of iteams are bad, exepct the bow that grants you speed, because there are many other great iteams that can give you same efect but with other better stats or even better stats that still have great passive.
But that just my opinion of player who plays this game for only half of the year and is still learning.
I use talisman on Odin in jung really good
