Guilherme Oliveira random number generation. A good example in smite is crit chance, where you have a chance to get 5 crits in a row or none at all for 10 basic attacks. It’s basically luck/randomness, which isn’t exactly good when you want to play a skill-based game.

I think the should just remove the oval from the one, and instead of random effects it should be like this. It should automatically cycle through the protection buff and move speed buff, and hitting an enemy corrupts the buff making it a silence or slow respectively.
I just think the shapes shouldn't be that random the fact that I can play a whole game and get the Y once and the L more than 75% of the time and the oval is trash lol
Lispy Queer the oval is actually very good depending on which effect it gives if it’s an oval silence then it is actually really good because you can pretty much trap someone if there in the middle and if you throw it in a team fight it covers allot of area and silence creates allot of disruption. The oval slow is also alright.
I like the oval the most, but it feels really bad right now because it doesn't hit exactly in front of Baba, as opposed to every other shape of the 1. Making it very easy to miss. Also, 15% on return hit is terrible, for how slow the Oval is, it should be rewarding if you manage to hit something more than once with it. I like the randomness aspect, at least in the 1, the problem to me is more than the effects aren't impactful at all. Even the silence field is just a small area with no teamfight usage. Maybe if they lasted 1 more second. And ofc, as Duke said, the passive meter is not visible in a teamfight. They can double the size of the "next shape" icon, even over the top of the house icon.
Yeah as I said in another post, this character seems to be designed to be only fun to play, in a game where players goes straight for the safer pick to get easy wins. You play her in pursue of having a fun game and get destroyed by tryharders in casual. How great fun.
I recently encountered a bug I wasn't aware of that became my new favourite; I'd ult and nothing would happen (same old same old) but then after aimlessly walking around in the cabin, I could fire the bolts FROM the cabin while controlling Baba Yaga. Definitely made for some pretty unpredictable kills.
I had something similar happen in the same game where my two bugged! I couldn't use my two, but I could fire all my bolts when in cabin, then when I popped out I got to fire a second round as baba yaga! It was a funny way to make up for the bugged two
Joe same for me until i ulted and had to hold down the fire button then spam the fire button. same thing with her potions, her potions kept switching from red blue then white but wouldn’t fire and i couldn’t even consume the potions
“I don’t like having to look at the symbol between every team fight” seriously that the LEAST frustrating part of her if anything. You can use your peripheral vision to see or just quickly glance at it before you cast or before a fight, doesn’t take much effort at all to remember what symbol you have after quickly glancing
Agreed! Also I doubt it's worth waiting for the perfect potion that deals the most optimized dmg+slow and stuff. Just pop the potion on the anubis twice and watch his health fall by half. That's the fun of it lol

Define Reality yeah or make the “O” narrow like “0” and instead of it being a line drawn in a circle shape. It could feel the area of and “0” similar to Agni’s 2 to make the ability cover a zone to make some of the buffs more effectively acquired.
@@TheSageSenpai I don't think it'd be implemented that way due to the fact that it's ground AOE would differ too much from the rest of her shapes. And having a wide ground AOE might make that shape outright better than the rest overall, instead of having a situational niche like the rest do.
I wish they would remove her oval targeted and replace her protections and movement buffs with a disarm. That alone would make her significantly better.
i think they should combine effects in two versions, it's can be like the field gives movement speed AND protections at the same time or slows enemies AND silences. Or maybe combining the buff and debuff into ones, like speed/slow and def/silence, idk
I would argue that the speed buff often works similar to a he bo scroll (UNLESS IT'S THE FKN OVAL) but I agree that the protection buff is really kinda pointless cause no one's ever fighting within that tiny strip

I mean, apart from Incon who praises her support, every streamer i follow has said she's the worst god release in a long time and basically worthless in conquest.
I wish there was a way to remap her potion storing. It feels so bad on console and I've died because of it. Also is there a bug on her escape? I jumped into tower one game and I'm almost positive I wasn't facing the tower line.
So. Idk if its just cuz I'm just better on console but I've played her both on console and pc I've never had any problem with her potions on console in fact I'm like a billion times better with her on console then I am on pc. I also have never encountered the ultimate bug either yet. Perhaps the RNG gods just love me idk
honestly, after playing her so much these days (I have played around 35 games or more perhaps with her) I became pretty good with her and the randomness doesn't bother me anymore, like, you get used to it, and if they fix the bugs with her AND make everything about the ult faster she would be in a good position in my opinion, also the ult may require a bigger shield cuz holy shit you can get bursted just in the ult casting time
I completely agree I love her she's not broken but the ult needs some work honestly I'm a console player and I really don't understand why people don't like the oval and the twos hard to understand and learn at first but as you play more you realize what it to use it for
To go farther the oval isn't great it's not hard to hit you just have to put the time in to get use to it's timing I'm guessing a lot of the comments are people who have only played 1 or 2 games with her and didn't like it
Maybe make all her 1's projectiles a bit thicker and i agree the ults projectiles and fire rate need to be sped up but instead of a bigger shield maybe some mitigation aswell, on top of the current shield she already has
Idea for her 1: replace the O with a line that travels as far as the initial line of the L and Y, but then doubles back and travels the same distance past the initial casting point in the opposite direction. Also, replace the protection and movement speed buffs with a cripple and knock back/knock up. That way you won’t know how she is going to CC, but you know that she always will apply CC in an area. Idea for her 2: Just. Give. It. Charges. Making her use a consumable slot to store a potion gives her an immediate disadvantage over other gods who can use that slot for potions or wards, which she definitely doesn’t need a built in disadvantage to a skill whose effect is already decided by random chance. Idea for her 4: have the flames linger for a longer amount of time. This would increase both her damage potential and her zoning ability. Also, keep the amount of times she can throw her Witchfire at 4, but remove the delay between attacks and reduce the firing time. When she runs out of Witchfire to throw, have her leave the hut and lose the remaining shield and CC immunity. This way it leads to complex decision making. Do you want damage or do you want to escape? Do you save that last Witchfire bolt and guarantee your own safety, or do you think you can kill that ADC if you just land 1 more bolt on them?
Idk why but I feel like I’m the only one that loves the randomness. Yeah sometimes it sucks because you could’ve used another shape. But for the most part the potion does around the same amount of damage unless you get 5 eyes. So I just use them the same for the most part and the effects are an added bonus
I completely agree. The 1 isn’t a big deal for me either. She’s fun and I’m a casual player, I’m satisfied with Baba Yaga. Plus the chaos of the RNG thematically makes a lot of sense, like her throwing together random stuff she has on hand to make a deadly potion. I like it.
I disagree with the passive meter complaint, its really not that out of the way and is not hard too look at in fights. You can also prime your 1 to see what it will be based off the shape/color it shows if you really dont want to take 100 ms to look
Sure but some people play on instacast, so they can't preview the ability and it would be awkward to ask them to change that. Other than that I completely agree that it's not hard at all to look at her passive and everyone should be able to do so quickly
I want to talk about her 1 more: her 1 is a very good move during congested/cluttered fights and shines in the jungle and objective fights. I know it isnt exactly felt but it has helped out extremely and being able to make the ground you fight on change and not have it broadcast is kind of how I see they wanted it to turn out. The pathing of the ability is easy to remember since even at max cdr you have 6 seconds to look at your passive before you can fire it again. I feel her 1 is more based on how long you have played her, so you can say that it isnt really a problem but more of a learning curve. Her 2 is messy and her description of the 2 should be based on color as well since I cant tell which ingredient is what but that is also just a product of not playing her enough. Her ult needs a range buff. It feels like I should fire way farther than I can, and considering all she gets is a shield when she drops it on her and a knock up she cant even confirm a shot into, it needs some love or an added effect (maybe a built in slow or that the hut can still steal essence from nearby foes at an increased rate and it prioritizes healing?)
Make her three knock people up and make it so you can blink while channeling it. Just speed up the animation and cast time of her two I think would be good enough. To throw two potions faster and finally make her ult faster with lessening the time between the fireballs.
I’m confused why the oval is so hard to people, you just fire it at a a different angle, you turn to the right a bit since it starts the actual projectile from the right and you can hit a lot of people in a team fight. I 1v4 a team late game in conquest and almost insta kill 2 of them with one hit of the oval
To start I would say they need to speed up her animations (it takes a full second to whip out a potion from your pocket then another 2 for it to actual throw), give a small buff to her cabin healing (so she can play solo well), and not store her potions in a consumable slot (its awkward but also restricts item buying)
Everyone talks about how buggy and messed she is. But forgets the very simple point. This is the most complex god they have made. At a time when they all working from home and can't optimise. So I'd say for the time she came out pretty good
that's objectively false. The Morrigan is the most complex god they've ever made due to her literally braking games when she ults. She has to be constantly removed from use due to her ulting the game to death

Her kit is extremely simple and barebones otherwise, she's just a magic based stun burst, a weaker version of pre-nerf Loki. Invisibility, ranged debuff, close range stun. Nothing special compared to other gods of her release time. Her ult is complex only because it requires you to know the kit of who you're turning into and knowing when to time that for maximum effect. It isn't that complex a gameplay mechanic to coop a double Ares ult or even a double Poseidon ult, for example. It's difficult for the first few times you play her, and then you very quickly pick up a short priority list of who you're going to be shifting into. Baba Yaga has complicated mechanics on 3/4 of her kit, and her passive is a mechanic all its own. Having to monitor what shape and effect your 1 will be, knowing the effect of each ingredient in her 2 and optimizing your usage of the mixes she makes, making sure you time the damage mitigation of her 3 to actually escape bad hits, and making the best use of her house's stacking passive. BY's problem rn is her damage and progression. That is complex mechanics. Morrigan is not mechanically complicated, not anymore compared to the gods we get these days, and she should have lost her "Hard" rating a long time ago. Her only saving grace was stealth, and stealth gods are no longer untouchable with mechanics like Heimdallr and Camazotz floating around.
I feel like because of the bugs you're nitpicking every little thing, you can very easily look at the brightly colored passive meter telling you what your shape is. Chronos has been in the game forever and nobody complains about having to look at his passive to activate his 2, its just another thing to make the god more skillful (not that chronos is super difficult, but his 2 does have a learning curve) I think you just don't want to learn to use these abilities effectively, I haven't played much Baba Yaga but from what I've seen, yes her two is clunky, and she is buggy, and she needs work, but you're being critical to things that don't need it. I agree with what you are saying about how she doesn't fit into a role in conquest very well because she really doesn't. I think that she just isn't the type of god right now that is to be played fast, I've seen slower gameplays where they poke and then go for frags and it works great.
Look, just because for you personally it's fine, it doesn't mean it's fine for everyone. I don't particularly enjoy Chronos' passive either, but it's still a hell of a lot easier to see what's going on there are a quickly glance considering his whole passive is a massive clock. For Baba, the majority of space is taken up by the visuals of the hut which ironically don't fulfill any important function. Some aspects of some characters will always bother some people more than others and sometimes it can't be changed. In this case however it could be easily improved already by just changing the visuals of the passive so the ability shape takes up the majority of the space.
I agree totally. Here's a fix: keep the oval. Have two projectiles fire from left and right. Have them converge in the middle for double damage or some such. That way there is a reason for the 1 in 4 randomness of it.

My full damage build for Yaga ( once you get use to her and this is for arena) shoes of the magi , chronos pendant, spear of desolation (or divine ruin if against healers), doom orb, soul reaver, and rod of tahuti. This gives you a lot of damage and gives you the movement speed you need to hit abilities and chase people down more easily while in the ultimate. My conquest build is relatively the same but slightly different to adapt to situations. I run mages blessings cause she stacks it right away and btw the hut gains stacks while it’s running around the map so keep that in mind. So mages blessing, shoes of focus, chronos pendant, doom orb, rod of tahuti, and a mantle of discord, the. Sell mages blessing for the spear of desolation or divine ruin and eventually get rid of the cool down boots and go soul reaver if you want to. And for relics it’s up to you and with both these builds I do around 50k damage
With the whole potion brewing ability (correct me if im wrong), isn't sol also like that? For one of sol's abilities, you have to click the ability button, then press the basic attack button to fire it.
I get some of the criticism, but I think she is one of the most fun gods to be released in a while. Also I think her rng is just part of her learning curve. But if it were to change maybe just have a set cycle of how the 1 comes out
I actually agree that she's still fun. In games that go well, her kit is absolutely hilarious and can be very satisfying. But the experience is too often soured by her downsides imo. And learning curve is one thing, but poor visual clarity (such as the useless hut in the passive forcing the important info to be smaller) simply isn't necessary when it can easily be avoided.
I feel like one of the effects on her 1 should have been a damage over time I think they should remove the protection effect and add a damage over time effect if your in the area that maybe also adds a little protection debuff as well if there in the dot area.
1. Remove the oval or change it to a 'D' and reverse 'D' shape. 2. Her random effect in the 1 feels useless. Either increase area of effect or for how long it stays. 3. If her health shield in ult scales on health/health from items, it would feel more benificial to go this route. And a bonus suggestion: Add a lifesteal ingrediens to the 2. Overall nerf damge a bit and this would make her a more supportive mage with buff/debuff areas on the ground. Or more viable in solo.
Something that I don’t see a lot of people talk about but I also think her 1 should do tick damage. I think it would give her just a small boost to it be often I just don’t care and walk through it bc the silence and slow are so rare
If they speed up the animations and make the 1 and 2 work like Wukong's 3, I am sure Yaga would do better. Hope they learn from this and make sure the Abyss god turns out a good release.
I completely disagree with potion on instant cast. I use instant cast for 99% of abilities in smite and I love the feel of the potion because of the swapping mechanic. I understand what you said but I just haven't had any bad experiences in that regard. The bugs however, are awful.
My issue is with baba yaga is that because of her 3 is scaling the best it wants to be played like this:throw the 1and2 jump right on the enemy with her 3 and then knockult, but rightnow almost in every gamemode if you do that people just turn on you easier due to slow cast timing, ult is easily juked and there is a bigger target
I think she's perfectly fine with the rng part of the mind games is in neither not knowing what will happen next as for her damage sure she's no he bo with practically three ults but she's not slapping out zero damage
8/10 times I kept getting the damn Oval shape in Clash, that's when I decided she wasn't worth using plus her ult is slow which usually ends up killing me. She needs a rework asap, get rid of the damn Oval and make her ult faster overall.
i feel like she needs to have a slight speed boost in the hut. oval i like personally but i know all the problems it has. her ult projectile speed needs to be faster too, i like the heavier skill cap on her. She needs to lose the protection buff too, its so minor its pointless to even have it

Thank you! Everyone is whining about how her ult and the oval on her 1 but you just need to be skilful with her and predict your opponents movement. In the majority of my joust games I’ve done well with her. My build is Warlock Staff, Cooldown Boots (replaced by rod late game), Spear of Desolation/Divine, Soul Gem, Soul Reaver (or something useful for countering) and Staff of Myrdin to use your 1 twice or 2 three times.
1st spell 3 effects slow, dot, silence all paths start with a line then curves (oval makes a split then comes back) 2nd spell the spell conjures a potion that you can save or throw, if it hits an ally applies buffs (here are the protections and move speed buffs and even a heal or damage amp, dragon scale protections, eye movespeed, tooth buff for dmg) if it hits an enemy it does the actual effect, and you can throw potions even when silenced. 3rd spell this stays the same could add something for your team Ult uses your actual passive charge to apply a heal and protections to your team in aoe added to the actual effect, And she becomes a support that has the ability to scale into a heavy damage caster, we don't have that kind of support in smite all support are tanky and that is fine but other mobas have supports that can become a secondary mage nuke while not being super tanky
Maybe change the protection buff into a heal when you and your teamates walk over it and if you stand on it the heal its stronger? I know that hi-rez said she was 100% a mid laner but i hope that they dont change her to be just that. I actually really like her in solo and hybrid mages in general.
I've been building her as a bruiser in the support role with gauntlet of thebes and gem of iso and and it feels fine, I'll admit makes her hard to clear with. I agree with the oval being bad but maybe shorten it so you can at least hit the whole wave? Or make it like a out and then back in so it hits accurately?
idea for her alt what if it was like Raijin's. Baba gets in to her hut and her ability keys tern in to different effects of her aoe. 1) could be damage pool 2) could be a silents pool 3) could be a slow pool 4) could be a fear pool pushing enemy's apart. they could use the passive meter act as ammo for the # of blasts she can make. i am curious how this sounds to people i think it would put her hut passive in to play more. her secant ability could store the potions around her head and save them there for future use.
I think the 1 should rotate. Start with the Y shape, then de Ls and last the oval (although maybe the oval should be removed). As well, each shape should have a specific secondary effect attached to it. The two shoyld have a faster throw and ult should maybe give dmg reduction instead of just protections (like Baron's). Just my thoughts.
She does really well with a poke build, shes not meant for burst shes meant for long sustained fights. Think thoth but more annoying and more debuff based instead of damage. Try soul gem, soul reaver, and e-staff, works wonders on her but sell soul gem late.
Her damage is bad for the god she is trying to be... if she is so slow and have a really weird rng skill cap, the player should be compensated with a decent dmg... im srr but that ult... i think its week
Hirez called her a zoning midlane but 2/4 types of her first ability have no effect on enemies so walking through it or even getting hit doesn't do a whole lot. I saw a comment saying that her 1 should do tick damage if an enemy stands in it to make her feel more like a zoning character. All I know is, I went almost 6min and never got the silent effect and it was a big ol' feels badman
The ult should have a scaling shield based of health because 100 - 420 is basically a hunter auto, and that would really encourage that hybrid build style.

I agree on the point of the bugs. I've spent an entire match locked on my 2, with the potion ready to fire but not going off, and countless times I've ulted and not been able to fire. Rest assured, she is pretty much what players expected and were hyped to: a god with a "chaotic, uncertain" playstile (which, in a game, means rng). Her 1 is good, and everyone was excited with how unpredictable it was for the enemy, not even complaining about shapes. Passive meter-wise, there are a good number of gods that require you to keep an eye on it at all times to play soundly, so whatever. Her 2 on the other hand, does feel clunky. Maybe it could still work with rapid fire, showing the ingredients then releasing/canceling, but I don't see another way of making it faster besides changing the ability. And about builds, there really isn't an optimal build for her, but she is a good bruiser, like many people hyped her to be. What I'm saying is: we all saw how she was way back on the reveal, but the hype blinded people and now people are realising she is shitty.
Agree with this so much. Even when I’m playing her well, I feel like I barely use her abilities for the buffs bc I rarely have what I need in a fight (except for potions but that’s because you can hold a good one to save for a situation.) Her kit’s like a guardian/mage hybrid and the rng honestly just makes it worse.
I just got her to legendary almost rank 6 so I agree with you. She is definitely mostly RNG gameplay and the oval makes me want to throw myself out the window. Also do you have any update builds or suggestions? I can run full dmg and do good then do bad or go hybrid and it's the same. It's too much thinking and same with the passive meter with the shapes, shouldn't have to keep looking down at it especially when I'm getting chased by a cu cul
If you plan out your attacks it can be very strong but, currently on her own her one is a very punishing ability. I've noticed that you really can't predict her attacks easily and when they hit they do alot of damage. Now on the potion, it's slow is painstaking, I've been up agenst baba yaga support and it is so difficult to play agenst. Now I think the damage needs to get an increase there. The ult needs so many fixes from bug fixes to buffs. I find blast off to work pretty well. It does a good chunk of damage and you can get a good escape. Baba yaga is at a point where she is not great but she's nothing to sleep on but overall what she really needs is. Cool down fixes, small buffs, big changes in her ult, and maybe some more effectiveness in her passive? I'm debating about that.
I think Low-Rez made Baba Yaga have those weird abilities just so she is unique, but it doesn't feel like it connects at all to what Baba Yaga is(Oval targeter???) compared to Persephone where her whole thing revolved around an undead garden so Persephone's kit makes a lot of sense.
I completely agree, especially the comment on her being slow. It takes 10 years for her 2 to fire. It forces me to think about where they’re moving which isn’t bad but in a team fight I need everything to flow. And the spamming the double click I just try to store a potion to force the cooldown and take it back out.
*shrugs* if you don't pay attention to the passives of the fire and just use your outline of the spells before she calls it. Shes actually really good. Sure... The special isn't meant to kill but to clear from far range you can see it benefitting you greatly. Warlock staff is still really good with Charon's coin and thoths book. Shes viable but you just really need to not care about her RNG. And if its the potions. Just store 1 and then yeet the other one after cooldown. So you have two potions to abuse with various effects. Oval does complicated but its still has an okay chance to hit especially those around the oval.
I recently ran into a bug with her. I popped the ultimate and the enemy god was knocked back but the camera didn't change nor did she go into her house. I also didn't get the shield. Which in turn left me franticly running back to tower from a kill a should have gotten. unable to do anything praying it's not lag and I wasn't dead. Also I noticed when I first played her that her basic attacks feel faster than normal mages. Even though she isn't chronos I've been playing her as a kind of adc mid.
I feel like a good way to fix the oval design is to have the secondary effect be active in the center as like a field. Like it doesn't do damage, but the center can be like a silence field, or a speed field. Something like that. Best of both worlds I guess (although I haven't played Baba Yaga so I don't know how bad her oval is in practice).
oh Duke I dont know if you'll see this but If you hit awilix with baba ult while she is on suku then she dismounts not jumps suku just get stuck inside her
I slightly think that the oval should just be dual fire balls it doesn't fix the issue but it does some what make it be a better way to deal damage . I should say that dual fire ball would deal mlre dmage if both hit the same enemies it would make the oval more usable even if it would still be worse than the others . Her ult I think should be increased in damage on the burn damage being almost kukukan levels of tick rather than small damage . If I ever would to change anything on her 1 it be that instead of a movement buff I think she shkuld have a no recent effect to boost her sustain
Besides the bugs I honestly think she’s a good god damage wise like after I got use to her delays and how fast her projectiles move with the 2 I just built movement speed damage to utilize her hit and get away with it and it’s good with the ult since you have doom orb active while you ult ppl so u can catch up to ppl and hit the ult unless they try to whiff it but other than that she’s pretty balanced it just her bugs. The one is fine but yeah the oval is pretty weird but with the oval I just try to get edge for damage but in my opinion if I’m in a fight I like the silence oval. Her 3 is fine since she’s a mage who’s suppose to die but I find it funny I can use it to escape a Cerberus ult but not use it to get away from certain things like Scylla can do but I get that since u get mitigation. Btw I’m a console player
Theres no reason to play her because theres other mages that are just better. Maybe if you wanna just play her for the laughs, but honestly shes like a C tier mage.
Honestly, Hirez needs to decide if she is meant to deal damage or dish out CC. If she's supposed to be damage, replace the 1's affects with stuff like a DoT, keeping the silence and the armor reduction. Just those three. If more CC based, the affects should last AT LEAST three times as long. That would be a great zoning tool. That 2 is odd, and can EASILY not take up a consumable slot, tbh. It should have something like you can choose to throw a potion, or drink it, healing her or something random, if you NEED it to be random still. That ult... it's slow, clunky, weak, and in general feels like a weaker version of Freya's ult where you can still get his and die in.
The ult should either give her protections like Hades' ult or damage mitigation like chacc's ult if they are not going to change the damage or the speed. With the oval shape, well, that's just something you gotta get used to, it's part of learning how to use a God and with her you just have to be aware of her passive at all times wich is not that hard. And the thing with her 2, yeah, I absolutely agree, pressing the ability again should not save the potion, that one is just awkward, you should only save it if you cancel it.
Make her effects on 1 linger and be procced for some sec after leaving area, trade O shape to a T or a X shape. Also revamp the slow effect on 1 to do dmg dots aswell. (See it as a clever setup with her ult.) Like make the dot on ice 1 deal around same scaling damage as Merlins 1. Also you could have her silence buff hit a lil more dmg and have the protectionbuff last a bit longer to be actually usefull, but make prot hit 1 do less damage.
I really enjoy baba yaga atm. Her damage seems on par with most mages from my time with her on conquest and the different shapes from her one feel really good when you hit with the second part. I really don't get what the problem with the oval is, if you just look slightly off centre then you hit full wave with is and also mages that have to stand close to wave. Just play with quick casting off and you'll be fine. Apart from her ult not firing sometimes she is super fun to play with good damage as long as you can aim.
I think for her to be good she needs 3 things. 1st her ult needs to be rework in the way it works. Either make her shoot faster and pump out dmg faster OR increase her dmg and speed but she gets less shots. 2nd she should get a secondary part to her passive or when she maxxes out her 2. Whenever she slays an enemy god she gets a special potion. The potion is rng. Itll be either yellow ( when it lands it summons a 2s circle that gives cc immunity). A purple potion (silence and root). 3rd is actually all her normal potions but maxxed out on 1 of the materials so full red/green/blue. 3rd would be her 1. Buff oval. It shoots fire both ends so its her highest Dps but a skill shot. This gives it more consistency as well.
The 1 shapes randomness is bothersome but i am aggressive so line or not i can hit it. The 2 could be better but i use it more in team fights and chases. The 3 is my biggest i think instead mitigation she should be cc immune. The ult is very clunky when the house lands its a slight delay the range makes up for the slowness.
Tbh i dont have problems with the oval. I feel it like Janus 2, just a weird shape. I do think the 1's effects are clumsy, but not bad at all. What I do think is that, as a "zoner", which is what its supposed to be, it needs less cooldown, so her randomness comes more often, you can have more possibilitys to use her kit and could make for her lack of burst dmg
Her ult it's random when you're not able to cast while in the ult and if you're not able to cast during the ult from the 1st time ulting in the match then you will never be able to for the rest of the game. I'm normal cast type of player and on console so i dont have an issue with the brew although it confused me at first throwing a stored brew. They should add a health shield on baba yaga when you cast a 3 like they do with Heras ability, fix her ult, buff the damage on brew toss, make her brew cast faster and enable people to choose the type of cc they want from her ability passives by a toggle when you enter the fountain like they do with Achilles passive and add 1 setting to let the random happen or set to certain ones. Think that would be a balance and fix the issue people have with honestly.
replace the oval with a serqet zigzag line dash. her 2 is just painful to use its to slow. ult needs to be more tank and they need to fix the speed at which you throw the fireballs it takes to long. And how do you get her limited skin?
I think they should move the cc effects from her 1 to her 2 and reduce the travel time of her 2. Buff the damage of her 1 to compensate for its removed utility and nerf the damage of the 2 if necessary and maybe and some additional effects for hitting the same opponent with 2 potions. This would make her clear better, make storing a potion more intuitive and useful and make her cc easier to apply as it would no longer require enemies to stand in a specific place.
the pocketing is not that deep...i just pocket the potion with R1 as with cancelling any other skill. my difficulty lies with me not usually using potions so its clunky for me to pull out a potion but thats something i can get used to. i love her in terms of rng only because it mixed things up and it gives me a sense of fulfillment when i get a good potion. also as someone who used to play nox support i think she is fine for support. I actually end up helping my carry get kills more than youd think. she has the crowd contro for itl. you cant really place her anywhere either because her damage early game is so low its hard to stay caught up.
I want to make a quick note on the warlocks thing, it's not warlocks ramps up to slow, it's that it's just a worse version of e-staff since they changed it. I don't know how they made the item worse but they did.
i can fix baba step 1) remove the 2 add a stance switching ability similar to cern. That puts a consumable in you consumables. You only get 1 consumable you do get to make another one but the consumable got a cooldown. this ability is available lvl 1 but doesnt give u a potion until you lvl it. step 2) her 1 changes shapes based on were you look close oval furtherest the Y shape left and right L. step 3) based on the stance her 1 got a different effect step 4) clicking the potion lets you throw the potion each potion got a different effect based on the stack slow, more damage, power debuff. step 5) make the ult 3 projectiles that fire like vulcan meat balls.
I'm just spit balling here. But 1: fix the technical issues of course. That being said I feel like there could be 1 of 2 ways to fix her passed the technical problems. A) increase her scaling, with her passive helping with stacking I feel itd synchronize well. OR B) increase the utility bonuses of the 1, maybe make in linger for a longer time so she becomes more of a supportive mid laner. Shes just diluted in both situations and I personally would like to see option B for her. Make her usefull to support the team rather than another form of high burst.
If they remove the oval massively buff the 2 but dont make it storable in the consumeable slot and buff her ult a little bit with more of a shield and maybe more damage she would be fine dont know how this got through pts to be honest
As a baba III i think some points are important but some not -Oval is ok after playing her enough, although i prefer having a line one -Defense stage of 1 is useless -You are knocked up in 3 sometimes for no reason -Ult should improve one stat, damage, cd, or shield. Usually ult fells not enough, like if you should not use it but rather wait for 1 and 2 I like her, but needs some performance improvements.
I was kinda toying with this idea in my head, but it could be a little fun that maybe her potion could heal yourself and teammates while doing damage and anti heal to enemies or something to that extent since some people are looking at Baba for the support/solo role. She's tanky enough, it'd be kinda cool to make a heal for her in place of probably the slow
Im juat going to start this off by saying i almost exclusively play guardians. So firstly i love that baba yaga has a protection buff on her 1 i find it great for early game so minions cant destroy me i find it useful for when when i get dived on because that plus the 3 and my hybrid items and the house that heals and if i have to ult gives me shield makes for really good escape/tanking opportunities. Movement speed is good for closing a distance tower diving and again pairs well with the 3. Honestly the silence and slow are some of the less useful things in my opinion. The silence last like 1/2 second so it happens then the enemy just walks away from it or they just do there ability really quickly after they were silenced for a 1/2 second then bombard me or ise their escape to get away. The slow is nice in team fights but in lane i find i get very little out of it because then what am i going to do to them basic attack? I find the movement speed is a lot better because if someone is slowed they will usually just use their escape to get away but if it's the movement speed they usually wont try to use their escape because they aren't debuffed so if i slow someone they usually escape and then i miss my 3 because they used their escape. The shapes are fine except the oval the only time i find the oval useful is on the two effects i don't want to use. On the silence so that they can't just dash away and on the slow so now they are going to be forced to go through the slow field. Personally i think they should keep the oval but instead of shooting from the rightthen curving to the left it should shoot from the middle then once it reaches a certain point split into two projectiles that arc backwards towards baba yaga. Same oval better way of implementing it. The 2 i find to be so bad and is what I level last. If you really want power from your 2 you start off with really low base power and scaling on the base ability then the eye of newt is fighting with two utility options for a chance to get max damage. The utility options i find good enough to work at any level if you have two of the same ingredient. A 25% slow or a 15% power and attack speed are good enough. The cooldown is also way too high if you are trying to use it as a damaging ability and the tiny circle sucks. The 3 i love. The damage is actually pretty good slightly stronger than scylla's 1 but you also get a bit of movement speed to try to dodge and even if you do get hit you take reduced damage i find it amazing to use when you know a player is going to hit you with a strong attack. Agni spamming ults go into 3, discordia setting up for her 1 use your 3, fenrir uses his 3 on you use your 3. Its just good at trading damage which is really nice since she can just run to her house for more health if needed. The ult ii think needs extra movement speed and instead of the fireballs doing a burst damage when landing they should just do that the first time an enemy is hit by the fireballs. I think the time before you can start firing is really annoying but if they gave her more movement speed too compensate so she can chase before the enemy gets away that would be fine too. Altogether i think baba yaga is probably the first mage i have ever really liked. I think the problem is many people think of her as a high damage burst mage but i think the evidence shows that isn't really true. She wouldn't have defensive things on ALL of her abilities if she was supposed to be a scylla or thoth type. I know this is kind of cliche but i think you may need to shift your perspective on her instead of trying to make her more like the other mages. I have found success with her in solo the most then support finally mid which makes me feel like she is more a warrior mage?
They need to make the lines on the shapes a little wider so they hit more consistently and the effects are applied more often. They also need to remove the stupid 15 percent damage on the second hit of the ability. I think the potion throw is fine. Same with the cauldron jump other than it is bugged were it doesnt jump the full distance sometimes. The ult is really not bad it just needs a slight damage increase and if you run gem of isolation it makes the fire more effective and harder to run out of while making it easier for your team to chase. They really need to fix the bugs with the ult it is useless when you cast it and cant even throw the fire or you get glitched on cabrakan walls and thor walls.

Guilherme Oliveira random number generation. A good example in smite is crit chance, where you have a chance to get 5 crits in a row or none at all for 10 basic attacks. It’s basically luck/randomness, which isn’t exactly good when you want to play a skill-based game.

I think the should just remove the oval from the one, and instead of random effects it should be like this.
It should automatically cycle through the protection buff and move speed buff, and hitting an enemy corrupts the buff making it a silence or slow respectively.

Lispy Queer the oval is actually very good depending on which effect it gives if it’s an oval silence then it is actually really good because you can pretty much trap someone if there in the middle and if you throw it in a team fight it covers allot of area and silence creates allot of disruption. The oval slow is also alright.
I like the oval the most, but it feels really bad right now because it doesn't hit exactly in front of Baba, as opposed to every other shape of the 1. Making it very easy to miss.
Also, 15% on return hit is terrible, for how slow the Oval is, it should be rewarding if you manage to hit something more than once with it.
I like the randomness aspect, at least in the 1, the problem to me is more than the effects aren't impactful at all. Even the silence field is just a small area with no teamfight usage. Maybe if they lasted 1 more second. And ofc, as Duke said, the passive meter is not visible in a teamfight. They can double the size of the "next shape" icon, even over the top of the house icon.
The only thing I like about Baba Yaga is her design.

Yeah as I said in another post, this character seems to be designed to be only fun to play, in a game where players goes straight for the safer pick to get easy wins. You play her in pursue of having a fun game and get destroyed by tryharders in casual. How great fun.
I recently encountered a bug I wasn't aware of that became my new favourite; I'd ult and nothing would happen (same old same old) but then after aimlessly walking around in the cabin, I could fire the bolts FROM the cabin while controlling Baba Yaga. Definitely made for some pretty unpredictable kills.

I had something similar happen in the same game where my two bugged! I couldn't use my two, but I could fire all my bolts when in cabin, then when I popped out I got to fire a second round as baba yaga! It was a funny way to make up for the bugged two

I don't think it'd be implemented that way due to the fact that it's ground AOE would differ too much from the rest of her shapes. And having a wide ground AOE might make that shape outright better than the rest overall, instead of having a situational niche like the rest do.

honestly, after playing her so much these days (I have played around 35 games or more perhaps with her) I became pretty good with her and the randomness doesn't bother me anymore, like, you get used to it, and if they fix the bugs with her AND make everything about the ult faster she would be in a good position in my opinion, also the ult may require a bigger shield cuz holy shit you can get bursted just in the ult casting time

I completely agree I love her she's not broken but the ult needs some work honestly I'm a console player and I really don't understand why people don't like the oval and the twos hard to understand and learn at first but as you play more you realize what it to use it for
To go farther the oval isn't great it's not hard to hit you just have to put the time in to get use to it's timing I'm guessing a lot of the comments are people who have only played 1 or 2 games with her and didn't like it

Maybe make all her 1's projectiles a bit thicker and i agree the ults projectiles and fire rate need to be sped up but instead of a bigger shield maybe some mitigation aswell, on top of the current shield she already has
Idea for her 1: replace the O with a line that travels as far as the initial line of the L and Y, but then doubles back and travels the same distance past the initial casting point in the opposite direction. Also, replace the protection and movement speed buffs with a cripple and knock back/knock up. That way you won’t know how she is going to CC, but you know that she always will apply CC in an area.
Idea for her 2: Just. Give. It. Charges. Making her use a consumable slot to store a potion gives her an immediate disadvantage over other gods who can use that slot for potions or wards, which she definitely doesn’t need a built in disadvantage to a skill whose effect is already decided by random chance.
Idea for her 4: have the flames linger for a longer amount of time. This would increase both her damage potential and her zoning ability. Also, keep the amount of times she can throw her Witchfire at 4, but remove the delay between attacks and reduce the firing time. When she runs out of Witchfire to throw, have her leave the hut and lose the remaining shield and CC immunity. This way it leads to complex decision making. Do you want damage or do you want to escape? Do you save that last Witchfire bolt and guarantee your own safety, or do you think you can kill that ADC if you just land 1 more bolt on them?
Idk why but I feel like I’m the only one that loves the randomness. Yeah sometimes it sucks because you could’ve used another shape. But for the most part the potion does around the same amount of damage unless you get 5 eyes. So I just use them the same for the most part and the effects are an added bonus
I completely agree. The 1 isn’t a big deal for me either. She’s fun and I’m a casual player, I’m satisfied with Baba Yaga. Plus the chaos of the RNG thematically makes a lot of sense, like her throwing together random stuff she has on hand to make a deadly potion. I like it.
I disagree with the passive meter complaint, its really not that out of the way and is not hard too look at in fights. You can also prime your 1 to see what it will be based off the shape/color it shows if you really dont want to take 100 ms to look
Sure but some people play on instacast, so they can't preview the ability and it would be awkward to ask them to change that. Other than that I completely agree that it's not hard at all to look at her passive and everyone should be able to do so quickly
I want to talk about her 1 more: her 1 is a very good move during congested/cluttered fights and shines in the jungle and objective fights. I know it isnt exactly felt but it has helped out extremely and being able to make the ground you fight on change and not have it broadcast is kind of how I see they wanted it to turn out. The pathing of the ability is easy to remember since even at max cdr you have 6 seconds to look at your passive before you can fire it again. I feel her 1 is more based on how long you have played her, so you can say that it isnt really a problem but more of a learning curve.
Her 2 is messy and her description of the 2 should be based on color as well since I cant tell which ingredient is what but that is also just a product of not playing her enough.
Her ult needs a range buff. It feels like I should fire way farther than I can, and considering all she gets is a shield when she drops it on her and a knock up she cant even confirm a shot into, it needs some love or an added effect (maybe a built in slow or that the hut can still steal essence from nearby foes at an increased rate and it prioritizes healing?)
Also, speeding up on her ult shots animation would make her (along with the range imcrease u suggested) have a decently good ult

Make her three knock people up and make it so you can blink while channeling it. Just speed up the animation and cast time of her two I think would be good enough. To throw two potions faster and finally make her ult faster with lessening the time between the fireballs.

To start I would say they need to speed up her animations (it takes a full second to whip out a potion from your pocket then another 2 for it to actual throw), give a small buff to her cabin healing (so she can play solo well), and not store her potions in a consumable slot (its awkward but also restricts item buying)

that's objectively false. The Morrigan is the most complex god they've ever made due to her literally braking games when she ults. She has to be constantly removed from use due to her ulting the game to death

Her kit is extremely simple and barebones otherwise, she's just a magic based stun burst, a weaker version of pre-nerf Loki. Invisibility, ranged debuff, close range stun. Nothing special compared to other gods of her release time.
Her ult is complex only because it requires you to know the kit of who you're turning into and knowing when to time that for maximum effect. It isn't that complex a gameplay mechanic to coop a double Ares ult or even a double Poseidon ult, for example. It's difficult for the first few times you play her, and then you very quickly pick up a short priority list of who you're going to be shifting into.
Baba Yaga has complicated mechanics on 3/4 of her kit, and her passive is a mechanic all its own. Having to monitor what shape and effect your 1 will be, knowing the effect of each ingredient in her 2 and optimizing your usage of the mixes she makes, making sure you time the damage mitigation of her 3 to actually escape bad hits, and making the best use of her house's stacking passive. BY's problem rn is her damage and progression.
That is complex mechanics. Morrigan is not mechanically complicated, not anymore compared to the gods we get these days, and she should have lost her "Hard" rating a long time ago. Her only saving grace was stealth, and stealth gods are no longer untouchable with mechanics like Heimdallr and Camazotz floating around.
I feel like because of the bugs you're nitpicking every little thing, you can very easily look at the brightly colored passive meter telling you what your shape is. Chronos has been in the game forever and nobody complains about having to look at his passive to activate his 2, its just another thing to make the god more skillful (not that chronos is super difficult, but his 2 does have a learning curve) I think you just don't want to learn to use these abilities effectively, I haven't played much Baba Yaga but from what I've seen, yes her two is clunky, and she is buggy, and she needs work, but you're being critical to things that don't need it. I agree with what you are saying about how she doesn't fit into a role in conquest very well because she really doesn't. I think that she just isn't the type of god right now that is to be played fast, I've seen slower gameplays where they poke and then go for frags and it works great.
Her big problem is that she is a burst mage with no burst with a non existant early and midgame
Look, just because for you personally it's fine, it doesn't mean it's fine for everyone. I don't particularly enjoy Chronos' passive either, but it's still a hell of a lot easier to see what's going on there are a quickly glance considering his whole passive is a massive clock. For Baba, the majority of space is taken up by the visuals of the hut which ironically don't fulfill any important function. Some aspects of some characters will always bother some people more than others and sometimes it can't be changed. In this case however it could be easily improved already by just changing the visuals of the passive so the ability shape takes up the majority of the space.
I agree totally. Here's a fix: keep the oval. Have two projectiles fire from left and right. Have them converge in the middle for double damage or some such. That way there is a reason for the 1 in 4 randomness of it.

Hate how long it takes her to get into her ult. Feels like forever, and combined with the slow projectile they have so much time to just walk away.
My full damage build for Yaga ( once you get use to her and this is for arena) shoes of the magi , chronos pendant, spear of desolation (or divine ruin if against healers), doom orb, soul reaver, and rod of tahuti. This gives you a lot of damage and gives you the movement speed you need to hit abilities and chase people down more easily while in the ultimate. My conquest build is relatively the same but slightly different to adapt to situations. I run mages blessings cause she stacks it right away and btw the hut gains stacks while it’s running around the map so keep that in mind. So mages blessing, shoes of focus, chronos pendant, doom orb, rod of tahuti, and a mantle of discord, the. Sell mages blessing for the spear of desolation or divine ruin and eventually get rid of the cool down boots and go soul reaver if you want to. And for relics it’s up to you and with both these builds I do around 50k damage
With the whole potion brewing ability (correct me if im wrong), isn't sol also like that? For one of sol's abilities, you have to click the ability button, then press the basic attack button to fire it.

Her randomness in her 1 could be more like 72 transformations where aiming down or up could change the effect of the path at least.
I love this idea. The issue is it’s not really rng and hi Rez wants her to be more rng for some ungodly reason.
I get some of the criticism, but I think she is one of the most fun gods to be released in a while. Also I think her rng is just part of her learning curve. But if it were to change maybe just have a set cycle of how the 1 comes out
I actually agree that she's still fun. In games that go well, her kit is absolutely hilarious and can be very satisfying. But the experience is too often soured by her downsides imo. And learning curve is one thing, but poor visual clarity (such as the useless hut in the passive forcing the important info to be smaller) simply isn't necessary when it can easily be avoided.
I feel like one of the effects on her 1 should have been a damage over time I think they should remove the protection effect and add a damage over time effect if your in the area that maybe also adds a little protection debuff as well if there in the dot area.

1. Remove the oval or change it to a 'D' and reverse 'D' shape.
2. Her random effect in the 1 feels useless. Either increase area of effect or for how long it stays.
3. If her health shield in ult scales on health/health from items, it would feel more benificial to go this route.
And a bonus suggestion: Add a lifesteal ingrediens to the 2.
Overall nerf damge a bit and this would make her a more supportive mage with buff/debuff areas on the ground. Or more viable in solo.
The area of effect (buff/debuff trail) on her 1 is hard to utilize, and easy to get out of. It does little impact on team fights..
Something that I don’t see a lot of people talk about but I also think her 1 should do tick damage. I think it would give her just a small boost to it be often I just don’t care and walk through it bc the silence and slow are so rare

Honestly, I love the oval, especially the silence oval. I find it easy to hit. People live to juke, not with an oval they dont.
If they speed up the animations and make the 1 and 2 work like Wukong's 3, I am sure Yaga would do better. Hope they learn from this and make sure the Abyss god turns out a good release.
I completely disagree with potion on instant cast. I use instant cast for 99% of abilities in smite and I love the feel of the potion because of the swapping mechanic. I understand what you said but I just haven't had any bad experiences in that regard. The bugs however, are awful.
My issue is with baba yaga is that because of her 3 is scaling the best it wants to be played like this:throw the 1and2 jump right on the enemy with her 3 and then knockult, but rightnow almost in every gamemode if you do that people just turn on you easier due to slow cast timing, ult is easily juked and there is a bigger target
I think she's perfectly fine with the rng part of the mind games is in neither not knowing what will happen next as for her damage sure she's no he bo with practically three ults but she's not slapping out zero damage

8/10 times I kept getting the damn Oval shape in Clash, that's when I decided she wasn't worth using plus her ult is slow which usually ends up killing me. She needs a rework asap, get rid of the damn Oval and make her ult faster overall.
i feel like she needs to have a slight speed boost in the hut. oval i like personally but i know all the problems it has. her ult projectile speed needs to be faster too, i like the heavier skill cap on her. She needs to lose the protection buff too, its so minor its pointless to even have it

Thank you! Everyone is whining about how her ult and the oval on her 1 but you just need to be skilful with her and predict your opponents movement. In the majority of my joust games I’ve done well with her. My build is Warlock Staff, Cooldown Boots (replaced by rod late game), Spear of Desolation/Divine, Soul Gem, Soul Reaver (or something useful for countering) and Staff of Myrdin to use your 1 twice or 2 three times.
1st spell 3 effects slow, dot, silence all paths start with a line then curves (oval makes a split then comes back)
2nd spell the spell conjures a potion that you can save or throw, if it hits an ally applies buffs (here are the protections and move speed buffs and even a heal or damage amp, dragon scale protections, eye movespeed, tooth buff for dmg) if it hits an enemy it does the actual effect, and you can throw potions even when silenced.
3rd spell this stays the same could add something for your team
Ult uses your actual passive charge to apply a heal and protections to your team in aoe added to the actual effect,
And she becomes a support that has the ability to scale into a heavy damage caster, we don't have that kind of support in smite all support are tanky and that is fine but other mobas have supports that can become a secondary mage nuke while not being super tanky
Maybe change the protection buff into a heal when you and your teamates walk over it and if you stand on it the heal its stronger? I know that hi-rez said she was 100% a mid laner but i hope that they dont change her to be just that. I actually really like her in solo and hybrid mages in general.

I've been building her as a bruiser in the support role with gauntlet of thebes and gem of iso and and it feels fine, I'll admit makes her hard to clear with. I agree with the oval being bad but maybe shorten it so you can at least hit the whole wave? Or make it like a out and then back in so it hits accurately?
idea for her alt what if it was like Raijin's. Baba gets in to her hut and her ability keys tern in to different effects of her aoe. 1) could be damage pool 2) could be a silents pool 3) could be a slow pool 4) could be a fear pool pushing enemy's apart. they could use the passive meter act as ammo for the # of blasts she can make. i am curious how this sounds to people i think it would put her hut passive in to play more. her secant ability could store the potions around her head and save them there for future use.
I think the 1 should rotate. Start with the Y shape, then de Ls and last the oval (although maybe the oval should be removed). As well, each shape should have a specific secondary effect attached to it. The two shoyld have a faster throw and ult should maybe give dmg reduction instead of just protections (like Baron's). Just my thoughts.

Her damage is fine, but her abilities are slow.
She can store a potion for free when not in lane to get 4 damage abilities.

She does really well with a poke build, shes not meant for burst shes meant for long sustained fights. Think thoth but more annoying and more debuff based instead of damage. Try soul gem, soul reaver, and e-staff, works wonders on her but sell soul gem late.
Her damage is bad for the god she is trying to be... if she is so slow and have a really weird rng skill cap, the player should be compensated with a decent dmg... im srr but that ult... i think its week
Hirez called her a zoning midlane but 2/4 types of her first ability have no effect on enemies so walking through it or even getting hit doesn't do a whole lot. I saw a comment saying that her 1 should do tick damage if an enemy stands in it to make her feel more like a zoning character.
All I know is, I went almost 6min and never got the silent effect and it was a big ol' feels badman
The ult should have a scaling shield based of health because 100 - 420 is basically a hunter auto, and that would really encourage that hybrid build style.
I agree with lots of this. I think her 3 is terrible though. It’s so easy to cancel making her easily able to be picked off with no escape.

I agree on the point of the bugs. I've spent an entire match locked on my 2, with the potion ready to fire but not going off, and countless times I've ulted and not been able to fire.
Rest assured, she is pretty much what players expected and were hyped to: a god with a "chaotic, uncertain" playstile (which, in a game, means rng). Her 1 is good, and everyone was excited with how unpredictable it was for the enemy, not even complaining about shapes. Passive meter-wise, there are a good number of gods that require you to keep an eye on it at all times to play soundly, so whatever.
Her 2 on the other hand, does feel clunky. Maybe it could still work with rapid fire, showing the ingredients then releasing/canceling, but I don't see another way of making it faster besides changing the ability.
And about builds, there really isn't an optimal build for her, but she is a good bruiser, like many people hyped her to be.
What I'm saying is: we all saw how she was way back on the reveal, but the hype blinded people and now people are realising she is shitty.
Agree with this so much. Even when I’m playing her well, I feel like I barely use her abilities for the buffs bc I rarely have what I need in a fight (except for potions but that’s because you can hold a good one to save for a situation.) Her kit’s like a guardian/mage hybrid and the rng honestly just makes it worse.
I just got her to legendary almost rank 6 so I agree with you. She is definitely mostly RNG gameplay and the oval makes me want to throw myself out the window. Also do you have any update builds or suggestions? I can run full dmg and do good then do bad or go hybrid and it's the same. It's too much thinking and same with the passive meter with the shapes, shouldn't have to keep looking down at it especially when I'm getting chased by a cu cul
If you plan out your attacks it can be very strong but, currently on her own her one is a very punishing ability. I've noticed that you really can't predict her attacks easily and when they hit they do alot of damage. Now on the potion, it's slow is painstaking, I've been up agenst baba yaga support and it is so difficult to play agenst. Now I think the damage needs to get an increase there. The ult needs so many fixes from bug fixes to buffs. I find blast off to work pretty well. It does a good chunk of damage and you can get a good escape. Baba yaga is at a point where she is not great but she's nothing to sleep on but overall what she really needs is. Cool down fixes, small buffs, big changes in her ult, and maybe some more effectiveness in her passive? I'm debating about that.

I think Low-Rez made Baba Yaga have those weird abilities just so she is unique, but it doesn't feel like it connects at all to what Baba Yaga is(Oval targeter???) compared to Persephone where her whole thing revolved around an undead garden so Persephone's kit makes a lot of sense.
I completely agree, especially the comment on her being slow. It takes 10 years for her 2 to fire. It forces me to think about where they’re moving which isn’t bad but in a team fight I need everything to flow. And the spamming the double click I just try to store a potion to force the cooldown and take it back out.
*shrugs* if you don't pay attention to the passives of the fire and just use your outline of the spells before she calls it. Shes actually really good. Sure... The special isn't meant to kill but to clear from far range you can see it benefitting you greatly. Warlock staff is still really good with Charon's coin and thoths book. Shes viable but you just really need to not care about her RNG. And if its the potions. Just store 1 and then yeet the other one after cooldown. So you have two potions to abuse with various effects. Oval does complicated but its still has an okay chance to hit especially those around the oval.

I recently ran into a bug with her. I popped the ultimate and the enemy god was knocked back but the camera didn't change nor did she go into her house. I also didn't get the shield. Which in turn left me franticly running back to tower from a kill a should have gotten. unable to do anything praying it's not lag and I wasn't dead. Also I noticed when I first played her that her basic attacks feel faster than normal mages. Even though she isn't chronos I've been playing her as a kind of adc mid.
I feel like a good way to fix the oval design is to have the secondary effect be active in the center as like a field. Like it doesn't do damage, but the center can be like a silence field, or a speed field. Something like that. Best of both worlds I guess (although I haven't played Baba Yaga so I don't know how bad her oval is in practice).
oh Duke I dont know if you'll see this but If you hit awilix with baba ult while she is on suku then she dismounts not jumps suku just get stuck inside her
I slightly think that the oval should just be dual fire balls it doesn't fix the issue but it does some what make it be a better way to deal damage . I should say that dual fire ball would deal mlre dmage if both hit the same enemies it would make the oval more usable even if it would still be worse than the others .
Her ult I think should be increased in damage on the burn damage being almost kukukan levels of tick rather than small damage .
If I ever would to change anything on her 1 it be that instead of a movement buff I think she shkuld have a no recent effect to boost her sustain
Besides the bugs I honestly think she’s a good god damage wise like after I got use to her delays and how fast her projectiles move with the 2 I just built movement speed damage to utilize her hit and get away with it and it’s good with the ult since you have doom orb active while you ult ppl so u can catch up to ppl and hit the ult unless they try to whiff it but other than that she’s pretty balanced it just her bugs. The one is fine but yeah the oval is pretty weird but with the oval I just try to get edge for damage but in my opinion if I’m in a fight I like the silence oval. Her 3 is fine since she’s a mage who’s suppose to die but I find it funny I can use it to escape a Cerberus ult but not use it to get away from certain things like Scylla can do but I get that since u get mitigation. Btw I’m a console player
Theres no reason to play her because theres other mages that are just better. Maybe if you wanna just play her for the laughs, but honestly shes like a C tier mage.
Honestly, Hirez needs to decide if she is meant to deal damage or dish out CC. If she's supposed to be damage, replace the 1's affects with stuff like a DoT, keeping the silence and the armor reduction. Just those three. If more CC based, the affects should last AT LEAST three times as long. That would be a great zoning tool.
That 2 is odd, and can EASILY not take up a consumable slot, tbh. It should have something like you can choose to throw a potion, or drink it, healing her or something random, if you NEED it to be random still.
That ult... it's slow, clunky, weak, and in general feels like a weaker version of Freya's ult where you can still get his and die in.
The ult should either give her protections like Hades' ult or damage mitigation like chacc's ult if they are not going to change the damage or the speed.
With the oval shape, well, that's just something you gotta get used to, it's part of learning how to use a God and with her you just have to be aware of her passive at all times wich is not that hard.
And the thing with her 2, yeah, I absolutely agree, pressing the ability again should not save the potion, that one is just awkward, you should only save it if you cancel it.
Make her effects on 1 linger and be procced for some sec after leaving area, trade O shape to a T or a X shape. Also revamp the slow effect on 1 to do dmg dots aswell. (See it as a clever setup with her ult.) Like make the dot on ice 1 deal around same scaling damage as Merlins 1. Also you could have her silence buff hit a lil more dmg and have the protectionbuff last a bit longer to be actually usefull, but make prot hit 1 do less damage.
I really enjoy baba yaga atm. Her damage seems on par with most mages from my time with her on conquest and the different shapes from her one feel really good
when you hit with the second part. I really don't get what the problem with the oval is, if you just look slightly off centre then you hit full wave with is and also mages that
have to stand close to wave. Just play with quick casting off and you'll be fine. Apart from her ult not firing sometimes she is super fun to play with good damage as long as you can aim.
I think for her to be good she needs 3 things.
1st her ult needs to be rework in the way it works. Either make her shoot faster and pump out dmg faster OR increase her dmg and speed but she gets less shots.
2nd she should get a secondary part to her passive or when she maxxes out her 2. Whenever she slays an enemy god she gets a special potion. The potion is rng. Itll be either yellow ( when it lands it summons a 2s circle that gives cc immunity). A purple potion (silence and root). 3rd is actually all her normal potions but maxxed out on 1 of the materials so full red/green/blue.
3rd would be her 1. Buff oval. It shoots fire both ends so its her highest Dps but a skill shot. This gives it more consistency as well.
The 1 shapes randomness is bothersome but i am aggressive so line or not i can hit it. The 2 could be better but i use it more in team fights and chases. The 3 is my biggest i think instead mitigation she should be cc immune. The ult is very clunky when the house lands its a slight delay the range makes up for the slowness.
Tbh i dont have problems with the oval. I feel it like Janus 2, just a weird shape. I do think the 1's effects are clumsy, but not bad at all. What I do think is that, as a "zoner", which is what its supposed to be, it needs less cooldown, so her randomness comes more often, you can have more possibilitys to use her kit and could make for her lack of burst dmg
Her ult it's random when you're not able to cast while in the ult and if you're not able to cast during the ult from the 1st time ulting in the match then you will never be able to for the rest of the game. I'm normal cast type of player and on console so i dont have an issue with the brew although it confused me at first throwing a stored brew. They should add a health shield on baba yaga when you cast a 3 like they do with Heras ability, fix her ult, buff the damage on brew toss, make her brew cast faster and enable people to choose the type of cc they want from her ability passives by a toggle when you enter the fountain like they do with Achilles passive and add 1 setting to let the random happen or set to certain ones. Think that would be a balance and fix the issue people have with honestly.

ult needs to be more tank and they need to fix the speed at which you throw the fireballs it takes to long.

I think they should move the cc effects from her 1 to her 2 and reduce the travel time of her 2. Buff the damage of her 1 to compensate for its removed utility and nerf the damage of the 2 if necessary and maybe and some additional effects for hitting the same opponent with 2 potions. This would make her clear better, make storing a potion more intuitive and useful and make her cc easier to apply as it would no longer require enemies to stand in a specific place.
the pocketing is not that deep...i just pocket the potion with R1 as with cancelling any other skill. my difficulty lies with me not usually using potions so its clunky for me to pull out a potion but thats something i can get used to. i love her in terms of rng only because it mixed things up and it gives me a sense of fulfillment when i get a good potion. also as someone who used to play nox support i think she is fine for support. I actually end up helping my carry get kills more than youd think. she has the crowd contro for itl. you cant really place her anywhere either because her damage early game is so low its hard to stay caught up.
I want to make a quick note on the warlocks thing, it's not warlocks ramps up to slow, it's that it's just a worse version of e-staff since they changed it. I don't know how they made the item worse but they did.

step 1) remove the 2 add a stance switching ability similar to cern. That puts a consumable in you consumables. You only get 1 consumable you do get to make another one but the consumable got a cooldown. this ability is available lvl 1 but doesnt give u a potion until you lvl it.
step 2) her 1 changes shapes based on were you look close oval furtherest the Y shape left and right L.
step 3) based on the stance her 1 got a different effect
step 4) clicking the potion lets you throw the potion each potion got a different effect based on the stack slow, more damage, power debuff.
step 5) make the ult 3 projectiles that fire like vulcan meat balls.
I'm just spit balling here. But 1: fix the technical issues of course. That being said I feel like there could be 1 of 2 ways to fix her passed the technical problems. A) increase her scaling, with her passive helping with stacking I feel itd synchronize well. OR B) increase the utility bonuses of the 1, maybe make in linger for a longer time so she becomes more of a supportive mid laner. Shes just diluted in both situations and I personally would like to see option B for her. Make her usefull to support the team rather than another form of high burst.
If they remove the oval massively buff the 2 but dont make it storable in the consumeable slot and buff her ult a little bit with more of a shield and maybe more damage she would be fine dont know how this got through pts to be honest

As a baba III i think some points are important but some not
-Oval is ok after playing her enough, although i prefer having a line one
-Defense stage of 1 is useless
-You are knocked up in 3 sometimes for no reason
-Ult should improve one stat, damage, cd, or shield. Usually ult fells not enough, like if you should not use it but rather wait for 1 and 2

I was kinda toying with this idea in my head, but it could be a little fun that maybe her potion could heal yourself and teammates while doing damage and anti heal to enemies or something to that extent since some people are looking at Baba for the support/solo role. She's tanky enough, it'd be kinda cool to make a heal for her in place of probably the slow
Im juat going to start this off by saying i almost exclusively play guardians. So firstly i love that baba yaga has a protection buff on her 1 i find it great for early game so minions cant destroy me i find it useful for when when i get dived on because that plus the 3 and my hybrid items and the house that heals and if i have to ult gives me shield makes for really good escape/tanking opportunities. Movement speed is good for closing a distance tower diving and again pairs well with the 3. Honestly the silence and slow are some of the less useful things in my opinion. The silence last like 1/2 second so it happens then the enemy just walks away from it or they just do there ability really quickly after they were silenced for a 1/2 second then bombard me or ise their escape to get away. The slow is nice in team fights but in lane i find i get very little out of it because then what am i going to do to them basic attack? I find the movement speed is a lot better because if someone is slowed they will usually just use their escape to get away but if it's the movement speed they usually wont try to use their escape because they aren't debuffed so if i slow someone they usually escape and then i miss my 3 because they used their escape. The shapes are fine except the oval the only time i find the oval useful is on the two effects i don't want to use. On the silence so that they can't just dash away and on the slow so now they are going to be forced to go through the slow field. Personally i think they should keep the oval but instead of shooting from the rightthen curving to the left it should shoot from the middle then once it reaches a certain point split into two projectiles that arc backwards towards baba yaga. Same oval better way of implementing it.
The 2 i find to be so bad and is what I level last. If you really want power from your 2 you start off with really low base power and scaling on the base ability then the eye of newt is fighting with two utility options for a chance to get max damage. The utility options i find good enough to work at any level if you have two of the same ingredient. A 25% slow or a 15% power and attack speed are good enough. The cooldown is also way too high if you are trying to use it as a damaging ability and the tiny circle sucks.
The 3 i love. The damage is actually pretty good slightly stronger than scylla's 1 but you also get a bit of movement speed to try to dodge and even if you do get hit you take reduced damage i find it amazing to use when you know a player is going to hit you with a strong attack. Agni spamming ults go into 3, discordia setting up for her 1 use your 3, fenrir uses his 3 on you use your 3. Its just good at trading damage which is really nice since she can just run to her house for more health if needed.
The ult ii think needs extra movement speed and instead of the fireballs doing a burst damage when landing they should just do that the first time an enemy is hit by the fireballs. I think the time before you can start firing is really annoying but if they gave her more movement speed too compensate so she can chase before the enemy gets away that would be fine too.
Altogether i think baba yaga is probably the first mage i have ever really liked. I think the problem is many people think of her as a high damage burst mage but i think the evidence shows that isn't really true. She wouldn't have defensive things on ALL of her abilities if she was supposed to be a scylla or thoth type. I know this is kind of cliche but i think you may need to shift your perspective on her instead of trying to make her more like the other mages. I have found success with her in solo the most then support finally mid which makes me feel like she is more a warrior mage?
They need to make the lines on the shapes a little wider so they hit more consistently and the effects are applied more often. They also need to remove the stupid 15 percent damage on the second hit of the ability. I think the potion throw is fine. Same with the cauldron jump other than it is bugged were it doesnt jump the full distance sometimes. The ult is really not bad it just needs a slight damage increase and if you run gem of isolation it makes the fire more effective and harder to run out of while making it easier for your team to chase. They really need to fix the bugs with the ult it is useless when you cast it and cant even throw the fire or you get glitched on cabrakan walls and thor walls.
