Hi I replaced mine with the HR parts the hub carrier side just spread apart easy but instead of spreading apart the bulkhead I took a grinder slimming the HR parts worked well over all these are a good buy👍
I agree, the HR parts are a great upgrade option. My concern grinding or shaving, be it minimal, might reduce the strength of integral suspension components. With all the bashing and high flying fun my rig has seen its still doing good. But let's face it, it's always a matter of time till we're ordering new parts in the name of FUN. Either way, a great fitment solution to keep the fun going.
I had to use a dremel tool to sand the area to make it possible to put the link with pivot ball back in. I too used pliers to help spread the area wider to help slide the link in.
I still believe they are are great, inexpensive upgrade that won't go unnoticed. Just like with alot of aftermarket upgrades, there seems to be some adjustment necessary.
To tighten or loosen them I use a small (5") crescent wrench. The same wrench or a bit larger one was also used to spread the bulkhead tabs enough to accommodate the new HR balls. It doesn't take much and CAUTION must be exercised when spreading the bulkhead tabs apart as to not break them. It was also mentioned using a dremel tool to shave a bit of the plastic away. Either way take your time and do a little at a time till you dial it in.
I just put some in my kraton. They were a little tight. I just line them up as even as possible and pressed them in with my thumbs. It was a little hard though. The secret is you need to be square on the edge because they are a hair wider.
The Big Rock was definitely more than a hair wider, at least on my rig it was. It seems with all the variances of the different rigs and the aftermarket tolerances, finding which technique works best for your specific application may vary. Thanks for the tip !
I agree. Definitely worth upgrading to these for handling. Although, I still believe for bashing we don't want our rigs too tight. Might lead to breaking more parts.
No, the the rest weren't as bad tightness wise and alot easier to overcome than the Bulkheads. The Bulkheads proved to be a bit tricky and needed to be spread carefully as to not break them. Once in and ran for a bit, removal and reinstallation was definitely easier.

Nail file the pivot 😂before you start bending, just two of them need a lil filing and slide right in!!!
thanks for the info on these I wasn't sure to buy them.

@@dmbrc4569 what type of a tool you use for the turnbuckls?

@@dmbrc4569 oh okay because I have a turn buckle bent like hell
I quickly upgraded the turnbuckles as well to the EXB steel ones and haven't bent another one yet.

I just purchased a set of these for my Big Rock V3. Much difference in your handling once swapped?

@@dmbrc4569 True. Did you have further troubles (like your first one) installing pivot balls on each turnbuckle with reattaching?

To add, all pivot balls at the 4 Bulkhead slots were a bit tedious for initial installation.
