Love the salmon, but it's hard to call something a field watch if it's that hard to read. The legibility of the lighter colour ways without contrasting hands makes this a dress watch with a nod to historical field watches rather than the reverse; but a dress watch with a moose of a clasp.
(And the gunmetal hands appear to contrast in some light, but in other light they just disappear!)
That font on the dial looks much better on the Pathfinder than it does on the Flagship.
    Best wishes for Anzac Day.

Pegasus Bridge was a really key operation on (or immediately prior to) D Day. It was a multinational Allied effort obviously, but from the UK the Parachute Regiment playing their amazing part, as ever. The forward element of the Paras are the Pathfinders. Just a thought. Seems a great historical tribute for a field watch.

What a shame the inkjet printed style logo and Pathfinder text ruin the vintage dial.
The numerals also look really hard to see in most circumstances.

I ordered this watch with the gray dial, which I think is awsome looking. I think that this is one of the nices, non-boring field watches to look at of what's currently out there in a new design. I think the price point is excellent for this much watch. Note that I have owned multipule Hamilton Kaki's, and have sold them all...old and boring designs on most. Eventhough you can get a Hamilton, or whatever for less than AD retail on the gray market, they still list for $700 USD or more from the AD. Great review as always, Jody. Your's is one of my top favorite watch channels!

  • @duncanhamilton5841

It's fallen into the classic Micro trap of trying to cram too much in - too much going on with polished this, brushed that, five link here, knurled this, textured something, polished, bevelled, yadda yadda.
Genuinely surprising, because Elshan/Zelos are usually really tight on design language.

I haven't joined a Kickstarter campaign yet, but I just might with this one. That salmon/pink model is calling to me! My only complaints are with the movement & clasp. I wish they used a no-date movement like the NH38 or Miyota 90S5. The clasp is objectively good, but I'm bored with it; my San Martin "Sub" has it as well. I would've preferred something slimmer and more appropriate for this type of watch. Other than that, this might this year's Christmas present for myself!

As soon as you went into detail about the inscription on the caseback I started hearing The Damned's song in my head. So I brought it up in another window and used it as a backdrop for the rest of the video. And it worked! Thanks for that!
A great looking piece. Almost too well finished to consider bashing it about. And I know I'm beating a dead horse, but, Elshan, please, either give us a date complication (color-matched at the six along with a truncated Arabic '6' perhaps) or an NH38. Or give us the choice maybe?

Interesting "Dirty Dozen" homage with a colorful twist. To my eye it's seems a bit thick (considering the other measures), but it's the movement's fault after all.
The early bird price is acceptable, BUT not something to make you grab your credit card instantly.
I would probably back this project, but remaining faithful till the end of campain really depends on the proposed stench goals (if any).

Here to say, I have the copper on wrist and the dial is really something to behold. But I don't like the bracelet at all. Each microadjust setting seems to be the same measurement as a link, so I'm forced to wear it a little too loose (annoying because it's heavy) or a little too tight. Have picked up a nice-looking brown ostrich number off Etsy that I think will suit it nicely. Just a heads-up, lovely watch otherwise. For reference I have a 6.5 inch wrist, so if your wrist is slightly bigger or smaller you might be ok with the bracelet.

The style of this watch reminds me a lot of the new Alpinist; main difference being the Alpinist cost twice as much!
Not sure if the Khaki King is a good comparison? I've got one and it is a quality watch, but even though you can get one for 300 bucks, that's a deeply discounted price. This looks like a screamin good deal up to $300.

I feel that Zelos/Axios as a brand can stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Hamilton in many ways. (Where's the lume & ARC, Hamilton?). Some folks dont like the use of 'faux-tina' on a watch. This watch seems to have some 'faux-story' or 'faux-history' going on. I dont spend $$ on a watch because there is some imaginary story behind it's design or inception. I spend $$ on a watch that appeals to my eye, my sense of value, my sense of style, and the ergonomics. The use of the Pegasus and the replaying video of martial footage on the Pathfinder page are of no use to me. Show me the watch, and let the watch stand on it's own merits. Please dont muddy the waters with a faux-story. Otherwise, a good watch that I plan to purchase. I went back to JOMW, February 1, 2020 to view the Hamilton just to refresh my memory...and I prefer this 'confused' field watch over the Hamilton.

Does it have a ghost position due to the NH35?

The quote on the case back.... okay. Nothing says military field watch like a quote about keeling over.
Next dive watch they do should have a quote from that Queen song, Under Pressure... "Looking down on me!" or "mm doo baa dap".

Not long ago Vario came up with a 1918 trench watch with a nice design, but its back case was idealising and glorifying the war in my view. These watches should come with Wilfred Owen's quotes as sober reminders of what we should avoid at all costs. Thanks for the review and the history lesson!

I'm with you mate. It's a fine line between respecting the fallen and profiting from their memory.

Not to glorify but to make sure we always remember the sacrifice of others in order to remain free. We are losing that trait and are in the process of giving away our God given rights

I like it, but not sure I love it. I think for dressy, I don't want a textured dial like this. But the price is nice...

I have to admit, I didn’t them on initial view, but as the review continued I began to warm to them - don’t think I’d by one though.

A pink military watch?! That's an awful oxymoron! Otherwise really nice, good size and style.. Would buy one if only they weren't kickstarters. Damn shame. Hopefully they will appear on ebay used in the future.
    Cheers mate 👍🏻👍🏻

Beautiful watch. And I like the pegasus. But when you're not native speaker this quote doesn't mean a lot
