    Really beautiful watch. Perfect size, clean, uncluttered dial, nice indices and handset, lovely caseback, nice lume, a strap monster for sure, good water resistance. Nothing to complain about. I like the lack of date window, might prefer no ghost date, but definitely not a big deal. A win! A contender for a one-watch collection. Thank you for another great review!

    About a week and a half ago, I took delivery of a 38 mm Praesidus, A-11 homage. This is a faithful reproduction of the timepiece that WW11 Veteran Tom Rice lost as he parachuted out of a plane over Normandy. I’m very happy with this watch and, with exception of its sapphire crystal and a Seiko NH35 Auto movement, it has a vintage, simple look that I really like.

    Follow-up - Nailed the overall review. Love that Salmon dial. What makes this sub-40mm case doable is that there's no traditional crown to take up excessive space; thus the dial having a larger visual appearance.😎👍

    I think this watch is a real winner! I just ordered the same with a slate gray dial color. The only think I would have like more is the option for a date on the dial. Oh, and it a 200m water resistance, you slipped and said 100m...no soup for you!

  • @36424567254
    @36424567254 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Tbh would prefer the date on a field watch. Nothing more utilitarian than the date - it's the one complication that is really useful, beside being a chrono I guess. Besides that I love it - beautiful dial, applied indices (which is always a plus imo), near perfect size (i'm just slightly worried about the lug-to-lug being a bit long), sapphire with AR, finally a NON-oyster bracelet (I don't think they look good, not sure why people love them and put them everywhere, I suppose simply for the Rolex association?) and all for a very reasonable price while most microbrands price themselves out of my reach. A bit scared to kick start though, I usually never back anything as I've read about too many failed projects...

    The flat top brushed bezel on this is much simpler to do than the one on Serica. This one has circular brush, Serica has vertical brush. A much harder job during assembly to align the vertical brush north to south. That aside, Serica one has wider bezel. But interesting dial on this one nonetheless.

These are really beautiful pieces. Love the dial texture, the hands, the indices. I would be very happy with either of them. As people on your side of the pond say, they hit this one out of the park! Only gripe, using a date movement with no date isn't a good feel. Nothing worse than a ghost position.

    If I would have known about it when it 'kick' started at 249$, I probably would have bought one: Axios and Zelos make awesome watch cases, with, at least in my opinion, the right dimensions. The only thing where they go a little wrong, imho (especially Zelos) is their dials: They're often too 'baroque': 'Meteor' and stuff: Pfff, come on.
    For example, I like the Zelos Mako's case very much, but the only dial I somewhat appreciate is the 'Frost' version. All the other ones I consider a little too kitchy.
    Having said that, I hope they stay around, because I admire their efforts and their 'approachability' (Is that even a word? I'm not a native english speaker, so I apologize already)
    Jory, thank you for the video!
    Best regards
    PS: Are you sure about 'ThreaDDed'?

    Teal is the color of the watch wallet. Love the fact that they decided not to publish Moby Dick on the dial. Okay, I exaggerated, but take a look at the Swiss Watch Company Bunker. Wish they'd release this with a slimmer case with an ETA or Sellita inside. I agree that, for a watch to become a long-term companion, it needs to have a movement that is worth the money servicing. With an NH35, one would be inclined to swap them out, which takes away 'the soul' of the watch at each service bout.

    My kind of watches . Awesome . I have very hairy forearms so I only wear soft silicone or leather straps . I have 7" wrists and 40 mm is perfect for me . I don't like the logo , I prefer the Axios name on it .I'd buy one but I already own a Reise .
