I brought a unit from a certain storage yard in Adelaide the photos showed ps5 boxes Nikes some good looking stuff I opened it up was all empty boxes and junk lost $470 plus $200 clean up fee walked away with about $130 in sellable items it’s turned me completely off storage units so I stick to garage sales and thrifting now
@@DannyFlippingDeals I’ll keep an eye out I guess I’m just cautious.. but i live in a rural area so I prefer garage sales like last weekend I went brought a big box (removalist box) full of clothes and hand bags for $20 cos the lady want it gone it was full of like verila shoes and nude shoes some Kim K bags 2 Louis bags vintage 505’s had a few Kmart items mostly on top so brought at a risk .. comped up prices on eBay (sold items) with high sell through rate would be revenue of around $780 so after fees and postage and cost plus the fuel and such for the day should clear over $400 in profit .. I get stuff like that all the time cos where I live there isn’t many ways to resell other then Facebook or eBay and people just can’t be bothered listing
@@DannyFlippingDeals but watching your videos has given me more guidance so I truely appreciate that mate .. I wanna head down Adelaide for some of the cool garage sales down there
Qld is 10x better for sourcing. Far more quantity and quality. Was a kid in a candy store while I was there for 2 years. They even have 80 storage auctions a week compared to 5-10 in SA.
Dump. In Adelaide a mattress costs $70 to dispose of. In QLD dumping is 💯 FREE hence another reason why buying storage units in QLD is more profitable.
Bugga.! I used to buy units back in the day when they auctioned them off in front of you. What a joke that guy was saying it was personal items.? Stick to garage sales and personal picks Danny these grubs don't need your business, and they are only cutting off the noses to spite their faces as you know it's a small world in this game. Thanks for getting back to me the other day mate.
@@DannyFlippingDeals Yeah BUT when the format doesn't run to stringent guidelines covered by Common Law I am not going to trust any of these guys working for 10 bucks an hour lol. Gordon gecko once said "Greed is Good"
You can’t assume there’s anything in the box if the box isn’t in the unit.. Paying someone for information isn’t automatically a bribe. $50 can save you and make you thousands depending on the information you receive. There are plenty more tricks of the trade, these are just a couple that ‘may’ assist.

It's a good episode on the reality of Insider's rule . Not just this industry .
Plenty other shenanigans that go on..
Loving the content mate keep the vids coming lots of useful information happy hunting 👍
Legislation needs to be brought in to protect clients and people who buy abandoned units. I wouldn't store valuables in these places.

Plus I live 3 hours away so fuel and lunch and stuff plus hired a 5 by 7 enclosed so I lost big time ..
Just need to keep an eye on units. Now and then a good one pops up 😊

I don’t mind sacrificing a few dollars to educate the general public.
No drama 👍
You’ll have to let me know how you go 😊
Those cheeky buggers!
If that happened on eBay you’d get a refund..
True aye , ebay may be a bit expensive when it comes too fees etc at least if something goes wrong seller n buyer are sorted.
NEVER Buy Storage units in Australia
Some are actually really good, which is where asking questions and having contacts comes into play 🎉

You’re on the money! Point 💯
You can't assume that there are shoes in the box, though! Also, giving someone $50 is not building rapport it's a flat-out bribe.
