Yes, definitely not an absolute beginner pattern. I've never made pockets like this, but I highly highly recommend following along with the Brittany J Jones sew along to help out. If you can manage the zipper, I promise you can get the pockets!

I've had this pattern for a year. I can't figure out the pockets (view D also). I thought this was a beginning friendly pattern. I was wrong.

@@LboumLike I got the pockets. I skipped the zipper just until I was sure I could actually make the pattern. The pleats, that's another story.
