These windows are awful. Hard wind and rain left water leaking down our walls and letting all sorts of dirt and water come inside my house. Our awful, old, cheap windows didn't do this! I don't know anyone else who has had this problem with their windows. Don't panic if water is getting inside your house! This is normal. No. Sorry Anlin, this is NOT normal. I do not recommend these windows at all.
I get the logic of weep holes as a method of drainage. But, I don't get what is the point of double pane windows for better insulation if there is going to be a hole directly to the outside allowing cold or hot air (including bugs) to get into the house ??? Can someone enlighten me with an answer ?
I just had impact windows installed in my condo. There is extreme condensation on the outside of the windows each morning. There are weep holes in the track, but it is on the inside of the track where the water is draining. Did they install the window track backwards? I’m concerned that the water will overflow onto my carpet during our summer rains and hurricanes. And that I will need to keep wiping the track with paper towels to maintain. None of the weep holes are clogged.
How do I clean these if there is a clog deeper in the channel that cannot be reached with a pipe cleaner due to the 90° turn it would have to make? I spent hours yesterday taking the door off, pulling up the cover, and trying to clean it with pipe cleaners/compressed air. There is no visible blockage from the top or outside, but the track is full of water and the weep holes are completely dry.
Why do some have caps on. My front door drainage hole had a cap on it. So water could not drain out. Took me a while to realise why. So what is the purpose of the cap
I have a new home and noticed water build up on the INSIDE of the window on the window sill (like a quarter inch). I’m assuming this is not normal and part of the weep hole system
Hi Kyle, Windows with a proper drainage system will drain water from the inside windowsill to the outside. If you have a lot of water on the windowsill caused by interior condensation, you might have a humidity problem. I have a problem with these holes allowing cold or extremely hot air in to my room depending on the time of the year. Is there an exterior cover option to prevent wind, dust and pests entering through these holes? I have just used electric tape to cover them up for now.
put some poison honey in the hole. they take it home and it kills the colony. BUT its impossible to stop ants entering homes. They have better communications than humans.
Hi Jared, If there are no weep holes, water can build up in the window sill and can leak into the home. Some windows may have a different water drainage system.
I cant get to my outside weep holes as I live above a garage. My landlord doesn't seem to be worried about it but hes not the one who has to continuously mop up the lake that gathers on the window cills! The inside track is clean and weep holes are free but every time it rains the water fills up in the track then gathers along the cill and pours down the wall. It's such a bad design. The window almost looks like it's been installed inside out! Do you have any suggestions what I can do to stop the water coming in please?
Hi Karen, The problem could be an improper installation of the window. Do you know if the window issue you have is an Anlin window? If it is an Anlin window you can ask your landlord to contact our Service Department 1-800-899-4896.

Normally weep holes come with covers to prevent bugs and debris from entering. Not sure why this company doesnt provide them.

Yeah I have these windows. And they are leaking water inside my house from the rain. Ridiculous. I’m calling my installer tomorrow morning.

Just had to plug those to keep wind from blowing around inside of window!! Raised the room temp =+8 degrees!

Air compressor? The ari pressure should blow loose any clog

Windows should be waterproof . Period.
Mine were mounted upside down! Weep holes on the top... That's why mine have junk in them.

What about condensation in winter months? I usually wipe them dry when moisture builds up inside...but does it drain to outside?

is this a general UPVC thing on new windows. We just got new windows and the inside of the frame had water after heavy rain. it’s not this brand.
I had seal mine cause wasps and bees kept getting in my apartment.

Does anyone know why my external widow seal fill up with debris, between the glass and seal?
You have to adjust clearance. Check the locks and you will see how it works. Most likely it is left at winter setting.
My grandfather says they're key holes... he likes to create arguments when there shouldn't be.
