Really interesting vlog - my heart breaks regarding Lucinda's injury, you can hear her sadness. But what an amazing teacher. You were very brave Meg, not easy having a lesson from such a pro & on an unknown horse - kudos👏. Absolutely loved this - I hope there will be more like it. I hope too, that you heard Lucinda praising your riding Meg - remember that🙂
I also liked seeing how much Lucinda liked and valued the horse.
@@hazelrudland1643 Absolutely, one of those equestrians in tune with all the horses under her care, putting their welfare above everything else. Meg is the same as is Tina, Emily, Lucy & Holly - I suppose that's why we watch them.🙂
@@annejarvis7002 I barely watch "normal" tv anymore, the vlogs are much more interesting and fit in better with the time I have.
@@hazelrudland1643 I hear you on that. I used to ride, sadly no more following a car accident. So I get my horse 'fix' by following these equestrians. But I still enjoy learning (I had horses " before the Flood" 🙂).

Good job Meg!! You were riding so well in such a stress inducing situation! My trainer has also instructed me to work on my rhythm by counting but I always get distracted. From now on I will remember "You can't chat when you're counting!" and just get on with it!

My coach has me count too! It really makes a difference in finding a stride!

@@tryingtoride3757 I count to three! And sometimes she has me count backwards from three before a jump to test if I’m seeing my strides correctly and knowing where I’m gonna take off

I am 100% looking into getting a lesson with Lucinda (she's not far from me!) I love her direct teaching style. I know how nerve racking it can be to ride a top riders horse and have a lesson with them, I went for a job at Will FP yard and was asked to ride a few of his horses. It was an incredible experience but I was bricking it! Being 'judged' by one of the best riders in the world is a whole new level of 'pressure'!

I was from the start a little bit confused about counting, later, I got it. if you count, you have less time to focus on panicking. But I undertand Meg, that she will not do it in future, it is hard :D But good job and Lucinda is lovely. Firm, but just :) And when she said, that Meg has beautiful riding skills :)

I have the same Grey and mint green head collar on my horse
I went to horse camp and the instructor there told me that I was too heavy to reach my goal of showing preliminary and that Rhett (my horse) wouldn’t be able to do it too. But he’s confident and I really want to reach my goal... that instructors words were verry hurtful to me so now I’m going to go on a diet and work out and ask my trianer to help me, and hopefully I can prove that dumbo instructor wrong.
Wow, so sorry that you had to experience that! When my trainer told me I was too heavy to reach my goals it sent me into a 10-year battle with an eating disorder. Believe in yourself, believe in your horse and together you can accomplish anything!
You can do it, put in the work and any goal is achievable! Just imagine seeing the instructor again after achieving ur dreams.

I’m so glad that you have your mum as a support. I’m appalled at what your trainer said, and can’t wait for you to crush it at your next training session - hopefully with a different trainer who lifts you up instead of bringing you down. YGG!
