    I could never understand why my Khmer mother in law would repeatedly ask if I wanted something after I told her “No!!!” This explains a lot. 😋

      this is EXACTLY the same in the Arabic culture especially Syria they if you refused like 10 times they will keep insesting until you accept it 🌚 it's annoying sometimes tbh 😂

    Omy! And I thought only in Brazil people would do that! Yeah, now I understand why we should ask people about 3 times when we offer them something. You ask one and the person refuses in a not so convincing way, then you ask again, and again the person will refuse smiling in a coy way, and you're there still confused by that awkward behavior until, finally, you ask the third and definite time, and this time the person says ok. I found that to be really weird but now I understand that the person just want to be sure you really want to do that for them because you want to, not because of some social bullshit.
