People that she's being questioned about, have tenured positions... They've been teaching staff at Columbia for decades. This woman has been the University President for less than a year. As bad as this is, Claudine Gay of Harvard was worse. This woman at least seems concerned, while Gay openly supported and celebrated the hatred and violence. And Gay has been "punished" with a $950,000 contract for agreeing not to be Harvard president and (maybe) cutting down a little on her plagiarism.

Claudine Gay didn't celebrate any such thing. She didn't like the man-handling, being forced to say what the other wanted her to stay. That's coercion. University presidents would be very sensitive to coercion techniques and would resist them.

I feel really bad for Minouche Shafik, the woman who is president of Columbia University, and currently being given the third degree by one after the other, as if she's to blame. She was the one who called in the NYPD to clear the campus of these radical protesters. She's not even been president for one year yet.

Check the protest going on at Columbia as the hearing progresses. It is obviously, the hearing, not having much of an effect. But then our politicians are only good at showboating, and they are the best in the world at that. Not so good as just lawmakers.

This President has been there for less than a year, so I don't lay all the blame at her door. But if I was a CEO, I'd want to have a list of burning issues on week 1 and be dealing with it on week 2. Add to that Oct 7th and all the protest since, and also the controversies since, it becomes clear that she's not coping well in the role.
