seeing this video makes me miss about Glasgow so much. Living in this beautiful city for 4 years for my Ph.D. Glasgow always bring good memories. Thank you for your video :)
I love this area. I lived at the back of the Botanic Gardens for 9 months. I love Glasgow. Its fantastic. Thanks for the upload. Sentimental journey for me 40 years on (40 years jeepers!!!)
Our pleasure! How nice of you to drop by and let me know. I hope you weren't disappointed? I have a few more of the city if you ever feel like dropping by again? All the best to you.

Ashton Lane is a real hub for eating and drinking in Glasgow's West End. Join us for a short walk as we make our way through this lively area to the Glasgow Botanical Gardens
Hi dear Yvonne and Mark! What a nice part of the city is this!! Glasgow seems really liveable! And the Botanical Gardens are wonderful! Many thanks for this amazing video my friends!! I'm always looking forward your lovely walks.... Hugs from me! Ciao. Renata
Hi Renata, yes I know what you mean about seeming liveable, we felt the same. We'll be showing more of the botanic gardens in a second video. All best wishes to you Yvonne and Mike.
It makes me so sad watching this thinking of the perfect summer weekends down byers road and ashton lane this is a very difficult watch which is brilliantly filmed it captured everything about the west end. Please god let it return soon 🙏
Ah Karvanz, I know what you mean, life just looks so simple doesn’t it? I as you so hope it won’t be too long before we can enjoy such things again. All the best to you.
Reminds me of sitting in "Jinty McGinty's" beer garden in Ashton Lane and eventually having to go for a curry in the "Ashoka" when the aroma got too much to resist.
My ancestor founded Glasgow University, his name is on the iron gate leading in. I was allowed to visit and see the Turnbull room as well as the separate Turnbull apartments near the college.
What a pleasure to receive your message David. Thanks for dropping by, how interesting to hear that. It must have been a moving experience. All the best to you.
That brings back lots of memories from Uni a generation ago. I guess the Grosvenor cinema has something to do with the Grosvenor Hotel facing the Botanic Gardens on the left side of Byres Road. I wondered what would happen to the site after the GFT moved back to its own home on Rose Street, Garnethill. Now I know!
@@LivingWalks Thanks to you, too, for posting! Ashton Lane was my shortcut from University Gardens to Hillhead Subway Station; it saved the long walk round University Avenue onto Byres Road. :-)
Easily the best university areas in the UK - fine restaurants, inexpensive cafes, chippies, second-hand books and a local economy full of characters. Excellent video.

Living Walks, my close friend and fellow walker, I am always filled with fascination to view your Scotland videos. The success of your channel always increases to new heights and every video I enjoy more than the previous upload contents. Will you create the Scotland videos always, my friend?
What a nice message to receive. I've just been enjoying your immersive video in the Shanghai rain. I loved being it in the rain (whilst being dry in my cozy home). So pleased to be sharing video's with you. If you ever feel like doing a video exchange just let me know? We could swap a UK video for an Asian one. Just a thought. I've not done this before but perhaps it could work?
Nice video. Could you tell me what equipment did you use for it? I am in Glasgow now and I also would like to record some videos like this. BTW, did you notice the countless white dots on the roads. I see them everywhere in Glasgow. I think they maybe gums, but not sure.
Hi WB, the equipment at the time was a gopro and a gimbal but now we use the dji pocket. Hope that's helpful? Best of luck with your new channel friend, keep in touch. We're here to support you.
Thanks for the feedback TN. We do have some that are 45 minutes long and some short ones too for variety. The second part of this walk will actually go up tomorrow if you feel like continuing to walk in the Botanical gardens?
Different type of people in this part of Glasgow, not one football top or tracksuit in sight, just normal chilled polite people doing their thing. Moved away from my home town 20 years ago, I do miss it, Glasgow is a wonderful city with welcoming people. Looks so nice in the summer sunshine, so many well behaved dogs and not one poop on the ground.
Well I've not lived there myself Jimney sweep, but perhaps the culture and beauty might make up for the not always good weather, as it's certainly noticeably colder than the south where we reside.
Living Walks yes that’s a good point . Certainly is spectacular landscape there and I hear that the people are super friendly so that would help matters
