- Sanctus was composed as part of the St. Cecilia Mass (Messe Solonelle de St. Cecilia) by Charles-Francois Gounod. The "Sanctus" section is the climax of the mass.
The solo is sung by Tenor Drew Duncan accompanied by the Plymouth Summer Choir on August 25, 2013.
I remember the first time I heard this song. My cousin sung in The Metropolitan Opera. She recently died. I have always loved how she sung it.
Rest In Peace my dear Cousin Jessye Norman.
This is not a song. This is a Latin Proper, the Kyrie Eleison, taken from the traditional Latin Mass.
Unfortunate that it was done in a Protestant setting, as it was intended for a Catholic setting according to the mind of its composer, Charles Gounod, a devout Catholic.
Nobody sang it as well. Remarkable vocalist!
You all did an EXCELLENT job on the Anthem and also the Organist did an EXCELLENT job as well an also you have a Nice Beautiful Pipe Organ
Ergreifende erhabene Wiedergabe. Vielen Dank!
Bravo!!!!!
Lindo demais; emocionante, parabéns
