I sang this with the mens and boys choir when about 8 or so...have always loved it...but feel that this version was a bit slow...

One of the reasons I hate the operatic trained voice is that every one of them is prone to "swoops"...they NEVER hit the note dead on, but "swoop" up or down to reach it...like a siren (!)...and having been taught NOT to do that...it really really bothers me!

Amen. It gets worse in Messiah just after the Pifa. Coloraturas seem to think they are performing The Damnation of Faust. Nice thing about Yourube is we have a choice. This tenor was fantastic. This is a moving piece inspired by the heavens. Thanks to Gianni and TH-cam
