Dev Mode on Xbox is probably the biggest case of a hidden godlike feature, because it actually does what most people want, a powerful console where you can have full control over it and use it in any way you want. I think the Switch is the only "current" gen system i have used the most for its dedicated hardware. But in general, i've been using my Xbox series for emulation (and a few games thanks to BC), PS5 for Tower of Fantasy, but i might look into this a bit more once the homebrew community for this evolves a little more, and the Switch because of THE SWITCH itself LOL. But Dev Mode is basically letting you skip all the extra steps and actually have the closest we can get to "legal emulation" on console. Or just Homebrew in general. And i wish other companies would allow for that, at least the idea of paying whatever amount but to have a full control over your console and do basically whatever you want and see possible with it.
What's sad about this is the fact that many of us that were waiting on the PS5's release ACTUALLY ASSUMED that MOST if not ALL of the PS5 games would already be at 120 frames per second. Funny enough, I bet some of the PS5s that were scalped and never sold would have early enough firmware for this trick. That said, don't buy from them. Later hacks will come out.
So if I were to go let’s say Best Buy right now and buy a brand new PS5, what are the chances the firmware installed out of the box is within hackable range?

I also wanna someday own a SteamDeck... if it ever comes to Australia, and turn that beast into an emulator of all things. Until then, I can only watch other people on what I can't even try to do.

I mean yeah some games were made for consoles like rdr2 just like he said, the game was made with the consoles in mind that's why it didn't launch on pc
As another point, consoles deliberately make their controllers prone to stick drift instead of using hall effect sensors. You get a better experience on PC especially with controller choice.
If you have anywhere from a CECHA-CECHE PS3, you really should get the frankenstein mod done on it. Pretty much all fat PS3s have the defective 90nm GPU chip except for the late fat ones which received revised 65nm chips. Frankenstein mod puts the very reliable 40nm chip (or 65nm if that's the best you can get) from a slim PS3 into the fat ones. This is great because it makes the once unreliable backwards compatible launch models the definitive consoles to have. The only problem is that the mod is hard to do, so it's expensive to get it serviced or buy one already frankensteined. But they're the best because of the sheer library of playable games. Then, having a PS5 on top of that covers most of the rest of the library with PS4 and PS5 games. You just might get the odd one-off incompatible game here or there. But that's where emulation or PC ports come in handy for the few exceptions :)
Yeah.. that was weird how they had an official Linux kit, then just sort of flipped to "no, you can't run stuff". Microsoft's security is two fold. First of all the security on the Xbox is watertight. Secondly, the existence of Developer mode removes any legitimate motivation to hack the system.
When it starts w manscaped, you know it's a good day for muta
Are you that guy who goes buhuhahahaha?
he's the def the guy who goes buhahahah
Finding an exploitable PS5s at a price below 1K is basically impossible
i have been waiting for this...Mutah you dont disappoint 🤙
A new chapter has begun
16:49 Man the drifitng events in NFS Carbon felt so good!
Muta is an extraordinary gamer.
Bro looks like santa claus from the pind in the thumbnail 😂😂
They should really just "allow" ofc for homebrewing.
@3:49 Correction, The CPU had plenty of power but what most devs do as we've discovered this gen is make games for the "power" the PS5 has but never bother coding/optimizing using Xbox's additional power as time is money.
☝️🤓
I love when he mentions the vita. WEIRDLY ENOUGH I just so happened to get one gifted to me the WEEK it got jailbroken. I’ve loved modding/hacking every one of my consoles since I was soft modding the Xbox when I 10. Got to it right away and got all the ratchet and clank titles working. Beautiful underrated handheld
is crazy to think that in almost every genre of...anything, that older movies, games, consoles, things in general, sold more than most things nowadays, except very very few things.
I never had a ps4 or ps5 but I finally tried the VR version of PT on PC and it's pretty cool.
This man gets crazier with each video of his I watch
Muta out here just casually giving us a step by step tutorial on how to hack a ps5 lmfao
I just realized that Mutas chair is the exact one I just stopped using lmao. I would recognize those chair creeks anywhere
So basically you would of needed to get the ps5 immediately at launch or the firmware is already patched? Damn
The thumbnail looks like a happy child getting a ps5 for christmas
i might actually buy a ps5 so i can play bloodborne without hurting my eyes
You should do a video on the new Xbox one exploit that’s coming out. You need to update to the latest firmware and download an app in preparation.
Funny enough, I bet some of the PS5s that were scalped and never sold would have early enough firmware for this trick. That said, don't buy from them. Later hacks will come out.
sony lawyers: ohh really buddy
stay right there frend
So if I were to go let’s say Best Buy right now and buy a brand new PS5, what are the chances the firmware installed out of the box is within hackable range?
asking the same
I remember buying a ps3 on firmware 3.55 for jailbreak on ebay. The good days when you could be jailbroken and play online also.
It has always been my dream to dive into emulation. But I worry that I am not technically minded enough to even figure out half this shit. But I wanna try. I wanna be able to turn my Series S into an emulator of all things, from PlayStation games to running Windows 98 with a mouse and keyboard. I also wanna someday own a SteamDeck... if it ever comes to Australia, and turn that beast into an emulator of all things. Until then, I can only watch other people on what I can't even try to do.
Do you mean youve never emulated anything?!? Do you have access to a pc or an android device?
There are tutorials. Google or TH-cam
Discovered you through UFO stuff ha.. stayed because you are hilarious.. and yay videogames. Love your stuff.
is it true that you use virtual machines?
that's amazing, you're very talented
Virtual machines are very easy to set up, it’s really not talent it’s just simple research
I’m glad you’re still active on TH-cam bro I’ve been watching you ever since you started your pastas and it’s been a pleasure to see you grow
Still easier than the shit we had to go through with PS3. So glad everything got easier with that console as time went on.
PS3 was damn formidable
Mutahar: “Unfortunately, in my situation, my PS5 is a little too…YOUNG…to get hacked.”
Me: “Ayo, what the fuck?”
Chris Hansen: “Mutahar, is it? Why don’t you take a seat.”
That’s crazy he actually admitted games are better to play on a console. Haven’t played on my pc since I built the damn thing, gaming on a console just feels better.
Play dwarf fortress
I mean yeah some games were made for consoles like rdr2 just like he said, the game was made with the consoles in mind that's why it didn't launch on pc
You can turn a PC into a console, or connect one to a TV physically or remotely. Couch gaming isn't an excuse.
As another point, consoles deliberately make their controllers prone to stick drift instead of using hall effect sensors. You get a better experience on PC especially with controller choice.
I’m just here for the PSVita appreciation. It’s still the most versatile and used device I own next to my cell phone.
So an emulator for PS5 is possible in a few years? Since it’s able to be jail broken
For the 10 people that have a launch firmware around, yeah probably.
I remember running linux natively on my ps3 before they stole that functionality away.
Yeah.. that was weird how they had an official Linux kit, then just sort of flipped to "no, you can't run stuff". If they'd kept the support for Linux, I'd probably have become a console gamer and moved to PlayStation for my fun, and used the Linux part for the work style stuff. But nope. I'll stick with actual Linux on my regular PC.
“Ignore the anime girl on the side!”
Me: 👁️ 👄 👁️
But is it as easy as hacking a psp?
The only villain here is : HYPERVISOR
Nintendo Switch: You can't hack me! I am too powerful for your hacks!
Xbox Series X: Sorry, you can't hack me that easily.
PlayStation 5: Just hack me I don't care.
What? The Switch was hacked day 1. Switch emulators run Switch games before they even officially release like TOTK.
Muta's been channeling more and more Billy Mays energy into his manscaped ads and I really appreciate that
exploit is fun but the only thing I hate about hackers when some dude griefing you and decreasing all your statement but the friendly one I love it because they are actually so nice and kind
Why does Muta look like a professional model in the thumbnail
