Kent thinks if he raises his voice or interrupts that proves his points. Good to see he was shut down by James Graham last night . The players are the most significant part of the game and deserve to have their thoughts heard through the players association. Kent rabbiting on about how lucky they were to be paid through the pandemic , even though they took a pay reduction which the journos didnt.
Newton was trying to say some players did say that but that wasnt the main issue just because some players said they wanted him remove doesnt speak for the rest of them
Interesting that the NRL had said they had numerous consultations with players and clubs, yet no one seemed to really understand what types of penalties for different degrees of headhigh tackles. That it was implemented halfway through the season. The game is definitely going in a direction that the NRL are not capable of turning back. To say your all about player safety yet the number 1 cause of concussions is not headhigh tackles, blatant or accidental. For sure should Origin become the farce that the game is now, he should be removed as well as the other members.

Newton was talking political talk, because he's the head of the player's association - But amusing that Kent picks him up on this when he only five seconds later comes out with "how many weeks more of players getting concussions will you blokes wait...." .. Pretty much the equivalent of the "won't somebody think of the children" emotional argument used by certain politicians, journos and middle aged women....not to mention the journalistic nonsense he cooks up most weeks.

Geez for a small fella, I can’t help but think he’s only so rude and vocal because you knows he can’t get smacked in the mouth “like in the old days” 🙄
What Kent did was reprehensible but i do miss him, he was one of the best commentators on the show. The first time (a long time ago) i turned on NRL360 & saw Braith Anasta as the new host i said to myself WTF this guy will be hopeless but he has proved me wrong. Not the best commentator but he is a capable host. Well done Braith. I am not condoning Kent's behaviour. In the end Foxtel had no choice.

I actually like kents work as a rule, but hes dropped the ball badly on this one. Its not about the need to mitigate concussions as thats a given. Its how its been executed and how media people cant prosecute how this is being handled. With media standing in this great game comes responsibility. Lift your game.
