I met this one girl at this event I attended. It was a 1 week nationwide convention, and on the first day, we happened to sit next to eachother. We were listening to a lecture, half way through, I fell asleep cause of how boring it was. The lecture was over after ~2 hours, and I wake up to find myself leaning on this girl, we both woke up and start laughing, then we were talking about how boring this speech was. We then introduced ourselves, and we became friends after that. We hung out the whole day, we danced together, and we played games together. Halfway through the convention, one of my friends came over where me and her were sitting, and I introduced her to that guy. The next day, we have a party at this convention, I didn't find her so I just sat at a table with all my other friends, after the dinner, everyone danced. I leave from the dance floor and I'm searching for her. I eventually found her, sitting with my friend. They were talking, and so I joined in the conversation, not thinking much of it. Later, my friend invites me to his room so I could crash their (we are staying at a hotel for this convention), and we were playing games, chilling, etc. Later he's on Snap Chat and I look over and see him texting that girl, and as he's texting her he tells me he has a crush on her. Immediately everything I saw had just changed. I tell him about my crush I have on her aswell. We agree that it is fair game for whoever pulls her, we then shake on it and say "May the best man win." The next day, we go to another lecture session, and I find her and him sitting together, she then sees me and invites me to sit in the row behind them. She doesn't really pay attention to me anymore here on out, and was just talking to him. At this point I just admit defeat, he obviously won her. What really messed me up was what I learned the next day. A friend of mine just heard from my other friend whom I was competing with that the girl and my competition have both kissed. What I also heard was that this whole time, she thought I was gay, and my friend neglected to tell her that I wasn't, so he could use that as a means to end the competition and come in swiftly. This made me feel betrayed. It's now time to leave, I say my last goodbyes, and fly back home. I've had many other crushes, but none like this, all those other crushes just had nice looks, but she was so different, she was beautiful, and her personality was exactly what I've wanted, she matched my energy, she was funny, she was my everything. I just wish she could be the Bonnie to my Clyde.
