Nice, I lost my dad five months ago to cancer. His favorite thing in life was fishing. He had a 24' bay boat and we would fish til the sun set down in the Gulf of Mexico and now i find myself watching a lot of fishing vids on here. Cherish these times as much as you can.
enjoy these moments. My father and I paddled the new river and fished for years. Now he is no longer able to do so physically. Boy, do I miss those days.
As a fisherman you have to love that sound you make when you strike a fish and immediately know that its a big fish....."Oooooh it's a big one, a big one." :-) Great vid!
Do me one favor. Don’t change for TH-cam. Once you get to a certain point they tell you what kind of content to put out. Stay original bud and most importantly keep fishing with dad. I would kill to have a relationship with mine. But he likes alcohol more. Crazy thing is. We both love fishing. But alcohol comes first.
Sorry to hear that, brother. I miss mine. Lost him to prostate cancer in 2016. Don't give up. Keep trying to get him back, because once he's gone, he's gone.
I would kill to fish with my grandpa but by the time I was old enough top appreciate it he had all timers and didn't recognize me anymore and he passed in 2017 October right after his birthday and I never got to say goodbye just so you know I'm crying while writing this😔
Trevor Arteaga you have to descale any kind of fish with scales if you are going to fry it whole like he was doing. If you are going to fillet the fish out you don’t have to.
I was fishing for smallmouth bass in a lake in Minnesota along the bank. I snagged a big one when it leaped out of the water in front of me tossing my lure right at my head. Smart fish.
I love your videos man! What makes them even more awesome is the time you spend with your old man as well as include his thoughts and advice in the videos, I truly envy you. Keep the awesome videos coming!
I have never poached fish before. I would really like to try that I think I'm going to be next time. Especially bass. Thanks for the recipe and learning experience. Definitely going to have to try.
I just finished eating a smally from the boise river. We were hitting it over in Middleton. I used garlic salt, pepper and lime juice and fried it on a cast iron flat skillet. It was delicious! That spot you guys were at looked a lot like Walters ferry… there’s good bass fishing under that bridge.
All of these people need to calm down. The DNR sets regulations on keeping fish FOR A REASON.It is designed to keep the fish population healthy. Just because Y'all can't catch fish doesn't mean there isn't any fish -like if you agree -
Nothing wrong with a meal every once and a while. I will keep a river smallie once or twice a year on special camping trips. I am a huge bass fisherman and c and r 90 percent of the time. Also I keep em where they are considered invasive species. But nothing wrong with a little meal. Good video man, nothing wrong with what your doing!
Great video, you guys have some nice fishing spots and you guys can really catch em, One thing I didnt understand was how you guys could eat 2 nice bass with no bread, rice, potatoe or something. Wash it down with some ice tea......just meat. Lol
Hey I know this video is old but try using the back side of your fillet knife when our scaling fish it won’t catch on the flesh like the edge of the blade, love the videos Ace!
In Californis we have lots of Perch called blue gills or sun fish. Pan fried with butter, salt and pepper (Garlic optional). Those are some very good tasting fish. The only thing is you have to catch 5 or 10 for a decent meal, in some places thats not hard because they're easy to catch. My buddy and I use to catch blue gill with gold hooks and no bait. Just dangle the hook over the side of the dock and the curious little sun fish would swim up and bite it with no bait. We would catch em every 2 or 3 minutes. Lol
Love your videos man! Me and my dad like watching you and your “me ancient” catch and cook! Just a suggestion though, try using a metal spoon to scale your fish! Works 10 times better than a knife:)
You need to try this recipe: Pour this on the fish before frying in it lots of butter: mix Soya sauce, garlic, a bit of honey, cayenne, lemon pepper and salt. Its delicous trust me.
I love the video And it was great but a small piece of advice is when your scaling fish you should use the back of your knife so you do not dull all your razor sharp edge
I would love if you guys implemented the killing phase and how you guys bleed them out the process it enjoyable and I’m pretty sure other people will like It too, like fisherman’s life videos. Keep up the vids man they’re dope Asf
Cool video! Fished the snake river everyday on my way to work for the better part of 8 or so years.. Yes everyday for 20 to 30 min. There are actually too many smallmouth and not enough forage in the southern owhyee portion, hence all the small fish
If I didn't have a crippling fear of handling fish, I just know I'd spend all my free time fishing and cooking up what I found. I'd love it, especially experimenting with all the flavours and seeing what I could find. It would be great. But, as it is, I can't even handle emptying my gold fish bowl when I lose one. Its ridiculous. So I guess I'll just have to live my dream through your videos :D
I like to pull a full stringer of bass out of the lake and walk right by the tournament fisherman with their $50k boats, on the way back to the truck! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I thought bass in Idaho rivers were rare but I've proven myself wrong catching a small mouth on the snake river towards the Idaho falls area! Maybe it's just because the river is always cold and deep, anyway keep slayin and rippin lips👍🏼
I wish I had someone to go out and do this with. I'm not a huge fan of fish but thats cuz we don't know how to cook them lol. Ive always wanted to catch and cook fish.
Just a tip I learned myself that if there is big sized rocks to where you could put crawdads under or they would fit under I have been using a crawdad "wee crawfish" crankbait no rattle at all but I go down fishing on the Willamette and it just slays the bass out of 2 days fishing in the same spot I have gotten 6 fish with that lure
Beau Dye only 6 fish in 2 days...shit i gotta consider myself lucky since i get in average 20 fish a day including walleye pike and bass, at a spot i caught 38 bass with senkos once.
Dude you make the best videos. Similar to what everyone else is saying, never change what you're doing and the content you put on your channel. Love the videos!
Clorox Bleach once we went to Lake Powell (if you dont know what it is look it up) and we caught one but didn't have a place to put them. We had a inflatable island with a net for feet and we put it in there😂all three kids were touching it and playing with it. It was hilarious.
Ace, when I am bass fishing and miss a fish I let the bait sit and often time they will pick it back up. I reccomend that instead of instantly reeling in like you do
Nice, I lost my dad five months ago to cancer. His favorite thing in life was fishing. He had a 24' bay boat and we would fish til the sun set down in the Gulf of Mexico and now i find myself watching a lot of fishing vids on here. Cherish these times as much as you can.
Hey man I’m so sorry about that. My dad loves fishing too but he is always working so I barely ever get to go

Makes me miss my dad a lot when we used to go fishing together🐟💔💔💯🐟
Never to old for some father- son bonding time! Perfect way to do it!
Nothing like a good father son relationship!
yeah lol all these betas need a father
As a fisherman you have to love that sound you make when you strike a fish and immediately know that its a big fish....."Oooooh it's a big one, a big one." :-) Great vid!
Its a big one that’s what she said
Love smallmouth bass fishing. Even the smallest of smallmouth feel like lunkers. They are great fighters.
Cheezy Truth Seeker best pound for pound fighter
Love the way you bond with your Dad. Mine in died in 1985. Miss him so much .
Such a proud dad. You can really tell. Awesome. I need to go fishing. A lot of good fish here in Alaska
NC Outdoors With Justin B. Damn I’m sorry 😐
Sorry to hear that, brother. I miss mine. Lost him to prostate cancer in 2016. Don't give up. Keep trying to get him back, because once he's gone, he's gone.
Big bass master Tv woah there. Sorry about that though I dont think this is a competition for who’s got it worse.
I would kill to fish with my grandpa but by the time I was old enough top appreciate it he had all timers and didn't recognize me anymore and he passed in 2017 October right after his birthday and I never got to say goodbye just so you know I'm crying while writing this😔
NC Outdoors With Justin B. I’m in the same boat you’re in bro, so I feel you. He loves fishing just like I do, but he’s too busy with his business.
Use the back of the blade to scale that way you don't dull the blade before you fillet your fishes.
That's a great tip! Thanks!
Do you have to descale bass? Or was he doing it just for this video?
Trevor Arteaga you have to descale any kind of fish with scales if you are going to fry it whole like he was doing. If you are going to fillet the fish out you don’t have to.
Brody Whitley thanks for the reply!
It's a nice feeling to catch something,,,, just having fun with family is the best time spent,,, love your videos
I love the ending part of the video because its cooking
Thanks for giving me a feeling like I'm there in this terrible city! Missing my last Dad too. What a nice son!
Yo no I don’t like people eating fish but your so responsible about what u eat and u don’t eat under inch or anything your amazing
Right as i saw this title i knew there would be controversy but what you did is fine
Gabe K exactly what I thought but as long as you eat your harvest it’s fine
Question, I'm kinda new to this whole thing, what was so consaversioal about this?
Tino Väinämöine they get mad because bass are generally catch and release fish
@@mrclean8049 ooooh okay
Your videos are actually do peaceful and I love it
Love smallmouth bass fishing. Even the smallest of smallmouth feel like lunkers
Your old man brings me joy
I was fishing for smallmouth bass in a lake in Minnesota along the bank. I snagged a big one when it leaped out of the water in front of me tossing my lure right at my head. Smart fish.
your channel is blowing up man! congratulations to you! love your videos. keep it up!
Catch n Release(CNR); Catch n Eat(CNE). As long as it's within regulations, there's nothing wrong with CNR or CNE.
Especially in Idaho we don’t need or want bass
I love your videos man! What makes them even more awesome is the time you spend with your old man as well as include his thoughts and advice in the videos, I truly envy you. Keep the awesome videos coming!
Dude your videos are always legit! Pretty rad to see videos of all these local places I hit up too. Well done sir.

I have never poached fish before. I would really like to try that I think I'm going to be next time. Especially bass. Thanks for the recipe and learning experience. Definitely going to have to try.

River smallies put up a better fight than lake smallies. River fish are more fun a use they're stronger
Perch is very good eating fish!
I am from sweden and when me and my friends go fishing for pike and perch we almost always eat the perch:)
In Californis we have lots of Perch called blue gills or sun fish. Pan fried with butter, salt and pepper (Garlic optional). Those are some very good tasting fish. Perch is a sunfish, and a bluegill is a panfish
Love the content Ace. Your dad makes the videos even better
Yess i love binge watching your videos ❤

It’s good. Tried this with bluegill
I love your videos so much!

Hi Ace! I am looking forward to see you trout Fishing!
I love the video And it was great but a small piece of advice is when your scaling fish you should use the back of your knife so you do not dull all your razor sharp edge
GREAT video w/ you and your dad. 🐟🐟💯💯💯👍
It pains me to see these beautiful fish get kept but they do taste good!! Great video man.
I would love if you guys implemented the killing phase and how you guys bleed them out the process it enjoyable and I’m pretty sure other people will like It too, like fisherman’s life videos. Keep up the vids man they’re dope Asf
Loving the videos man. Among one of the most entertaining on TH-cam. Keep it up
Love you guys, great video!
Young ACE right here
Cool video! Fished the snake river everyday on my way to work for the better part of 8 or so years.. Yes everyday for 20 to 30 min. There are actually too many smallmouth and not enough forage in the southern owhyee portion, hence all the small fish
I’ve never seen a smallie jump that far out of the water! Nice video brother 🤙🏼
If I didn't have a crippling fear of handling fish, I just know I'd spend all my free time fishing and cooking up what I found. Honestly this makes me want to go try some smallmouth, amazing video man!
Lol at least 3 quarters of you in this comment section complaining probably have ate salmon, cod or some fish so calm down
I like to pull a full stringer of bass out of the lake and walk right by the tournament fisherman with their $50k boats, on the way back to the truck! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Great Video!! Rough day at work, and seen your Catch and Cook video pop up. Defiantly subbed Great videos keep it up man!🙏🏻😊
That fish looked really good!
I thought bass in Idaho rivers were rare but I've proven myself wrong catching a small mouth on the snake river towards the Idaho falls area! Maybe it's just because the river is always cold and deep, anyway keep slayin and rippin lips👍🏼
dankleaves the snake below AF is full of them and even the Bear has some good ones.
I have watched everyone single one of your videos multiple times at this point XD haha. Big fan keep doing what you're doing and god bless brother!
Nothing like catching river smallmouth, so strong. Columbia river has some amazing smallmouth fishing if your ever near there.
I hate fish but I LOVE watching these
Smallmouth are one of my favorites to eat!!! But I never really keep em.
-LGbassin from fishing amino!!
I wish I had someone to go out and do this with. I'm not a huge fan of fish but thats cuz we don't know how to cook them lol. Ive always wanted to catch and cook fish.
You should try maple syrup mixed in water with garlic salt and pepper mix and pour over your fish and let it cook into the fish Irish recipe
I've heard of that bait. Thanks for the tip!
Beau Dye only 6 fish in 2 days...shit i gotta consider myself lucky since i get in average 20 fish a day including walleye pike and bass, at a spot i caught 38 bass with senkos once.
Nice u make it look so easy
Dude you make the best videos. Similar to what everyone else is saying, never change what you're doing and the content you put on your channel. Love the videos!
Very cool video. I like the catch and cook btw. all your stuff on yt is amazing. Greets from germany

Ye Ol’ Man: “Hurry up, hurry up” *regretful laughter*..Ace: *confused laughter* “Don’t ever talk to me like that again on film”...Ace: *Edits video*
Hey, since you like fishing so much you should come to Wisconsin we have lots of lakes and ponds and lots of big fish
Awesome video !! Thanks for sharing
Great video guys. Love it!!
The only bass I’ve tried is striped bass it’s pretty good (striper) it was a 15 pounder
Clorox Bleach once we went to Lake Powell (if you dont know what it is look it up) and we caught one but didn't have a place to put them. We had a inflatable island with a net for feet and we put it in there😂all three kids were touching it and playing with it. It was hilarious.
Anyone else just be eating and taste what ace is eating
And ignore the haters, you're doing a great job.
Ace, when I am bass fishing and miss a fish I let the bait sit and often time they will pick it back up. I reccomend that instead of instantly reeling in like you do
Awesome video dude, keep em coming
I loveyour videos!!❤️❤️❤️
Honestly watching your videos make me feel sad how bad of a fisherman I am I’m happy I’m I catch one
It was yellow and I also got pulled in the water and it was oatmeal bait it works really good catches the bug ones
I like the effort to save the senko lol
Hey ace what was your ancient using. It was like a curly tail grub?
To be honest whenever you guys cook the fish or any other sea food/animals it makes me hungry
I don’t know why but I love your dad
