Enjoying this channel Peter. Like yourself, and some of your subscribers, I also follow Mustie1`s videos. I am very pleased to see uploads from either of you. Very interesting stuff for us Petrolheads.
One of my favourite things...peeling back the masking paper and being left with glorious machined metal and perfect paint. It really makes me happy. As always a top video, i laughed at you dancing around the dog pooh but still happy to put you up if your good lady can't forgive the bike frame in the bed and you wake up next to a horses head.
You are so right about the paint and I love the way that motor came out fantastic! I loved the beginning I thought that was very good and got me to chuckle. Cheers!
excellent stuff Peter - inspiring me to re-do my 1974 cb500 four. i had the cases re-painted years ago (i bought my bike in 1976 and still have it although it's buried in the garage!), but it was never as good as your example. i now have the gear to do a proper job, just need some decent uk weather!
The terms "decent" and "uk weather" ought to be regarded as mutually exclusive...this is high summer for gods sake - look out of your window and tell me how much sunshine you've observed this week....
Hi peter , love watching your vid. always fun and there is always something new to learn , by the way if i was you i wouldnt let 1 or 2 negative comments get into me and take the fun out of it . cheers from Croydon
Hi Peter, regarding your gallery brushes, have you ever tried dropping into Blackwoods and having a look at their 'condenser tube' or 'boiler tube' brushes? They have them in wire, fibre or brass bristles from about 6mm upwards. They can even come with threaded ends for attaching rod extensions for longer tubes. Ray
Hi Peter. I’ve been following every move you made and I’m just about to split the crank case. Couldn’t have got here without you. I live in Perth and wondered who you bought the parts from over here. Also, who did you use in Germany for the rod bolts. Please let me know if you can remember. Thanks again. G
That's how I see it... never put enamel on the body... it stays soft to the point where it can't be colour sanded or buffed. Acrylic is a lot harder, so if you make a mistake, you can rub it out and re-shoot an hour later, then buff it to a mirror finish. Cheers
great vids mate :) just wondering, if you've got a minute, can you tell us a bit about your gun setup? what sort of gun is it? nozzle size? what pressure are you running? etc
Hi Merlin, I run the compressor at 50psi with the air turned right down at the gun to minimise over-spray. I use a touch-up gun for smaller items (will need to check nozzle size, well under a millimetre) and a full size gun for body work. The compressor is a twin cylinder belt driven unit that delivers 220l/min FAD... I should do a video on the set-up. Cheers
Chase every single threaded hole on the frame and pieces you had powder coated or good luck with seized bolts and screws. And there are other areas you should remove the powder coat in holes so rubber parts fit right. Especially mid cover grommet holes or the tightness of the grommets may have a chance of cracking off the nipples of the mid covers. Of course this is if they are plastic. It's been too long since doing this to any bike.
Your powder coated components are very nice but they're not monumentally gorgeous...your wife and daughters are, on the other hand, monumentally gorgeous :-)
TH-cam re encodes your video when you upload it, they encode it into multiple playback resolutions, so that if someone has a bad internet connection, they can still stream the video at a lower quality. This process takes a while especially for longer videos, and they encode the smallest resolutions first, so in this case 360p was the 'best' resolution 'ready' when Adr0gen tried to watch the video. If you check now, the video has finished processing on TH-cam server side and is now available in 1080p. Some youtubers don't publish their videos for an hour or two after uploading it, so that when the video 'goes live', the HD version is already encoded and ready to playback.
If you like grab some calipers take measurements of the outer diameter of your paint gun cup's lip, the diameter of the outside of the cup just below the lip and the vertical diameter of the roll of the lip itself. I'll 3D print and send you some caps, the least I can do for the enjoyment your videos give me.
"If you want to complain or leave comments, don't bother, I don't care" Gold. Loving the videos, very informative and interesting commentary.
How rude was I? Didn't mean to be, but a guy left a know-it-all comment that annoyed me. There's always an armchair expert isn't there? Cheers mate

Thanks Loki, I received some shiny new genuine Honda parts today, so did some shooting for a new chapter, Cheers

...and she loves horses too, she's a great lady and I'm sure if she had her time again, would gladly pass me by. Cheers
Peter Anderson if you think motorcycles are expensive get a horse lol I stopped adding up the money we have spent on horse's along time ago !
You are so right about the paint and I love the way that motor came out fantastic! I loved the beginning I thought that was very good and got me to chuckle. Cheers!
Thanks Peter. I really enjoy your advice on painting; very helpful.
All your videos are absolutely priceless and extremely helpful!

Engine paint looks great Peter. Are you thinking of putting clear on? The bike series is great!
came over from cold war motors... subbed!
A comment on one of Mustie's recent videos brought me here-really like the content! New sub.
Thanks Thom, I hope I can keep you interested in this stuff. Cheers

Thanks Ray, I didn't know about those, thanks for the information. Cheers
Love the videos. Keep up the great work. Is there a way to send things to you? I have a couple tools I think you need.
AMC?

So you reckon that Enamel is fine for engines but you would prefer Lacquer for body work? I was tossing up between the 2 for a roof repaint on my mini

Peter do you have a list of the 9 parts I can link to. I want each - thanks

Indeed, the first thing is to grab 6.0x1.0 and 8.0x1.25 taps and clean all threads!
I wonder why they painted the aluminum silver?
Go ahead and leave comments, I don't care. :)
u replaced the missus with a bike frame?
VeganGain's Black Dad in my case it'd perform better...
lol :) sounds legit
I took my 671 supercharger to bed and my wife did leave me, eventually
Awesome :)

360p??? Pete, I don't understand!
It was recorded and uploaded as 1080p... not sure what's gone wrong...
Adr0gen it's 1080p for me

Good one Pete keep it up mate
honda cb 750 restoration complete
Your going to tear it up installing the engine. lol
Something strangely theraputic about watching someone paint.
Called fine-line tape.
Will Peter be feeling unwell, after his wife sees a motorbike frame in the bed. :o

Is someone building a Zoo in you neighborhood? ;)
Rather find a motorbike frame in my bed than a horse head...
I'd sooner find my wife there rather than either of those. Cheers
I trust your good wife doesn't watch these! Who's side was the frame on? LOL
No she doesn't, but wasn't pleased when I told her... was looking for her white dressing gown to put on it as well... I put it on my side, cheers
You're a brave man.
Join the priesthood
I'm not sure I'd be welcome there mate. Cheers
Oxidation is rust. Lol
