By this time, Jack was firmly established on NBC's Sunday night schedule at 7pm(et). This was also the first season that Phil Harris was a regular- and despite him being identified as Jack's "orchestra leader", his studio band was actually arranged and conducted by Mahlon Merrick (who stayed with Jack through the end of his weekly TV series in 1965).
Science Alert: 15:03 - Don's enthusiasm is misplaced. A sliced pineapple and Jell-o won't go great together. Pineapple has an enzyme that prevents gelatin from setting. If Don's wife gave him a can of pineapple, the enzyme would have been broken down in the canning process.
The band number, You Can Tell She Comes From Dixie, really swings!
