    I grew up on these OTR programs. I remember doing my homework in grade school in the 1940s listening to these wonderful programs. THANK YOU FOR MAKING THEM AVAILABLE ONCE AGAIN. They bring back precious memories.

    Loved these when I was very little. My first recollection of the world around me was through the radio. Then later the golden days of TV. It was a gentle time.

      +Craig Clyde Hi! i don't know about gentle - but magical times for culture on radio and television - lots of live shows (1950's), too - Jack Benny, Show of Shows, Amal and the Night Visitors" every christmas, specials full of understanding of humanity. the kid's show were great, too. do you remember "Kukla, Fran and Ollie", "Howdy Doody"? :}
      and we were still in the afterglow of WWII victory! (even though there was the Korean War :| and so much for simpler times, which is ridiculous! - i guess most adults remember childhood times as so-called 'simpler'.)

      It's always been a natural human tendency to remember only the good times. Each generation tends to reminisce about the good times when they/we were kids (the "simpler" times alluded to) and try to forget and/or reject the not-so-good times.
      Of course, our dads were *ALWAYS* telling very tall tales! How about the one where our dads "had to walk five miles to school every day, uphill, both ways!" Then there's the winter tale where they "walked to school in four feet of snow, again uphill, both ways!" And the older they get, the longer the walk becomes, or the higher the snow falls!
      HAHA!! Good memories! 🙂🙃🙂

    There's nothing more that gets me in the spirit of Christmas than listening to radio shows from this period. Thank you so much for dedicating your time and energy to bring these memories to people everywhere.
