  • Nikko is a short train ride away from Tokyo, making it the perfect getaway for a day or two. Today we're going to show you some of the food that Nikko is famous for. We'll pay a visit to the Toshogu Shrine as well as the magnificent Kegon Falls. But of course you know it's going to mostly be about the food.

Thank you brothers!!! Thank you for showing the small town of Nikko. I've been there twice, but only up into the mountains, to see the Toshogu shrine, to cruise down the river in a small boat, and to visit Edomura. Never visited the town, or tasted Yuba. The falls! I remember! AYU!!!! One of my favorites from my trip to Nikko!!! Sooooo many memories for me! Thank you! Thank you!! Thank you!!!!!!

Juliette Roussos......I can only wish. LOL! I've only been to Japan 3 times in my life, but was fortunate to spend more than just a few weeks. Three months was the longest, but that was many years ago.

Japan is such a beautiful country! I, too, love that they share foods from all over the world! Blessings to you too! Hope to see you at the live feed on Saturday night.

I’m headed to Tokyo in mid-October and had been half-contemplating a trek up to Nikko, since it looks so beautiful... I’d been vacillating a bit, until I saw this video and the one you did on ekiben (Nikko to Tokyo). Now I’m very excited to go. Thank you for the nudge.

Nikko is great! I can remember that just outside the shrine there was an amazing cart selling one of the best taiyaki. Havent't been to the falls or the marshland but what is also great to see (although it is a bit far from the main sightseeing spots) is Kanmangafuchi Abyss and if you follow the hiking trail to the end I believe there is an onsen hotel there.

The falls were still beautiful, the closest falls to where I live are the Niagara Falls. They're very long, but not nearly as high. Waterfalls are one of my favourite natural structures. There is just something so calming yet powerful about them. The food looked delicious, and I'd love to see a video of you guys making your own Gyoza Croquette recipe. I can tell you have a lot of fun coming up with recipes too. ♡♡

Wooow, such a stunning beautiful surrounding there and I love the foggy fiew on the waterfall, makes it so mythic ^^ and I love to watch you taste these dishes too, of course. Everything looked soo tasty and it is so interesting to see the specialites from the region, I bet it tastes amazing. I'm always impressed everytime you travel how you catch the scenes on camera, the feeling, but somehow this is one step above to those in the past, can't name why. Everything was on point (ohh and I love the shamizen music, you picked perfectly) hope you have such a wonderful time there, please take a break just for you to relax too ^^

I know people here who don't like Nori so they use Yuba skin for sushi. I don't think I could live in Japan on just my disability check which is $943 per month. I get free medical care and home assistance. If I asked where I could live on my disability check you would probably tell me out in a farm house in the middle of nowhere! LOL LOL. I love to fry things with Yuba but not very often because of calories. I make soy milk at home sometimes too.

Nikko looks Americanized! All those stores with English names. Was looking to visit but might change my mind.

My parents are from Kanuma and we go to Nikko every time I'm back in Japan! It makes me miss the place! I definitely need to try some of the food you tried out!

One thing that i would like to see if possible is if you could list how english speaker friendly a place is when you visit it. I see in some of the videos some restaurants list they have english menus. That would be super useful for people traveling to Japan.

Thank you for doing a video on Nikko! If you do other videos in Tochigi, please go to Nasu and check out the onsen! I miss it the most from my time living there.
