@@wildlandfirefit hopefully out of Missoula Mt. But with your videos being such a huge help I'll apply in other places. I took my first pack test n courses back in 2010, life happens and now I have the opportunity to do wildland firefighting.
I am training for wildland firefighting this year and getting my certificate. is there any advice you have for me going threw this traing. I am working out learning terminology and also gonna be getting a 45lbs vest soon adn walking off trails to simulate the terrain i will be on when fighting a fire.
People should understand that when they have even 100' of defensible space from their home, depending on many other factors, it may still burn down. And although it varies from region to region, one of the most common cause of fires is chains dragging while towing, and many other vehicle related causes; smoking is among the most rare, unless you're talking about an addict smoking crack in the bushes, which is still rare, but probably more common!
I'm a former wildland firefighter. I worked for the BLM for 5 years before I join the military. While in, I have done volunteer work with my local fire department.
