The Burt the Bashful fight is actually pretty messed up when you think about it
Chuggaconroy recently LPed Yoshi's Woolly World and he also talked about using Yoshis instead of enemies for the statues in the final level. If I remember correctly he had a way to color all 4 without eating any enemies. That could reduce the egg count to 7.

You can also “abuse” two player, because throwing the second player makes them act LIKE a yarn ball, but they don’t break. They also fill stuff like frame chomps.

from a speedrunning trick, for the final level, you could only use one, enter as red Yoshi, use a green Yarn Yoshi amiibo, have another Yarn Yoshi Amiibo that has one of the primary blue skins, then grab a skello-goonie then use it on the white statue, then use the amiibos, which would bring it down to 8 yarn balls

1:47 if you look really closely you will see that yoshi is spitting yarn balls.
When you said breaking a yarn will count as one use of yarn, but the enemy in yoshi's mouth turns into a yarn ball, and then it breaks when you fire it.
Something I like to think is that because this game is made out of yarn, it takes place in the Kirby's Epic Yarn universe.
How many Yoshis do we ditch and let them fall into the void so they can't see their family anymore as Mario leaves his friend to die

Answer: It's almost possible. The only money you can't avoid collecting is from the final boss's crown.
Its pretty kewl how you go over every level instead of just the hard levels

If you use any of the compatible non-yoshi amiibos (like the smash ones) during a level, your current Yoshi will turn into that costume, you can access all 4 final level locks like this!!! I used the Inkling Squid amiibo to bypass the Green Bowser Statue, the Villager amiibo for the red one, The Inkling Boy amiibo for the blue one, and my very own Fluffin Puffin' Yoshi for the white one, meaning you can bring it down to 7 broken eggs!

Unfortunately in Crafted World you can't utilize enemies the same way as you'll automatically turn them into eggs. Only a few enemies like Koopa Troopas and Ukikis do that...

When you eat an enemy, not swallow it, and spit it out, you’ll see that you are spitting out an egg. Nico cheated.

I think it can probably be brought down by two more. There's a badge that makes all yarn balls big, so that could be used for just about everything short of the final boss... And to use the same yarn ball infinitely since they re-grow once you grab them again.

You forgot that you can get the yarn balls back from the chain chomps since they get that yarn string which yoshi can eat and make a egg out of. So that can help subtract some eggs for you since you didn’t get them back. But you solved this with a yoshi buddy so yeah.
If you time it just right, you can flutter jump indefinitely AND gain height. I did this once to clear the first section without using the yarn balls.
Nico on world 2-3 you can sometimes get large eggs from the egg box so you don't actually destroy them :)

I feel like you could probably use the gem shop to bring in giant eggs even if they aren't usually available so even if you didn't use the co-op feature I'm pretty sure you could use those giant eggs to hopefully save on some eggs to by using them sparingly
