In Sweden we do it differently. The idea is put as big storage tanks in as possible in the space availible. Then take the total volume and divide it by 18. The number you get is the size of the burning chamber in the boiler i.e. the amount of wood that fits in there. So say for example that you can fit in 3000 liters of water, then you should choose a boiler with about 170 liters of space for wood. What output power it gives is irrelevant.

@Tjita1: that's an interesting rule of thumb, i'll have to see how that compares to the formulas I usually use. you just can't get any efficiency or long run times with gasification without storage, storage, storage!

Do you have any videos on the plumbing side of this boiler

    LiquirDinner,
    Thank you for your reply.
125KBTU is perfect. I believe many of the other gasification boilers have such a high BTU out put that a 1,ooo gallon storage battery of water is imperative unless U don't mind making a new fire every hallf hour/hour or so.
Thank you for your time, glennnnn

I am looking for a wood gasification boiler that has a low BTU out put so I can keep it lit 24/7.....
What is the BTU out put of this one? Do you need a large water storage tank n fire it up once a day like all the others?
    Thank you, Glennnnnnn

I always find it hard to think in btus per hour. I usually think in kilowatts. A btu is raising a pound of water by 1 farenheit. (A bit bigger than a kilojoule) 130000btu/hr = 38.1kw so pretty damn hot (19 portable fan heaters).

Don't have to have the tank. I ran for over 3 years without. I beleive this stove cranks over 130,000 btu's approx. They make an EKO 25,,,,, about 85,000 btu's approx.
