It's pretty clear why these sets dropped so hard and it's not what you are hypothesizing with the PSA grading.
When this TCG got announced, Bandai was on an all time hype train with the One piece TCG. There was alot of demand, way more than expected, and one piece booster box priced skyrocketed because of the huge demand but low supply. There was alot of speculation going on, that bandai didn't have enough print capacity to meet demand.
The first wave of Dragon ball FB-01 Booster boxes was incredibly scarce, shops couldn't get their preordered boxes, only getting small allocations, or even none at all. This further drove FOMO, and people belived these boxes are soon gonna reach prices like OP-01 at the time, with 500 Dollars a box.
Then it turned out all the talk about bandai not having enough print capacity was pure BS, alot of OP sets got reprinted that people believed, would never be reprinted again, aswell as alot of printed boxes for newer sets. Prices of OP finally started to drop and stabilize. Subsequentually, Bandai reprinted and dropped huge amounts of FB-01 aswell as FB-02 boxes, so prices went to free fall. Before all this, supply couldn't meet demand at all, and now it seems the opposite, looking at these current prices well under Msrp, it seems the market is even oversaturated for how much demand there is.

Now this is very interesting and definitely makes alot of sense as to why we prices are what they are see I was thinking maybe the grading market just got flooded so this explains the less demand for cards and booster boxes but what your saying seems more plausible appreciate this

So is it stupid to keep a booster box sealed for 10 years?

Dragon ball super may not be the best investment to keep sealed but you never know seeing recent trends of the past decade of all tcg lately I would say not a bad idea

You buy the red yes and sell the green. But you don’t buy in the red without a potential catalyst. Who is to say these prices won’t just keep declining. Because of the lack of content surrounding the DBZ space. No news of the show continuing and who knows when we will even hear about another movie coming out… The only hope is the new Dragon ball video game coming out in October. I expect a new wave of buyers coming in around and after then. The game looks beautiful. The game gives it a pulse for life but idk if it will be enough. If we hear confirmation of the show continuing. Then definitely buy, Great time to buy and there’s good chance the prices will increase in the future.

Wow my man you went a cut deeper I love this coment I didn't even think about the lack of content surrounding dbs and your 100 percent right about that hardly any content is being made which is odd even the content that is made isn't too quality like a lorcana pokemon mtg grand archive one piece etc that's a hell of a statement and observation
Also your correct in noticing the show and new game about to come out which can breathe new life into dbs not sure if it will bit there is that chance for sure man you gave me alot to think about appreciate that

We already know Daima is coming out…

There is a new show coming out, it's Dragon ball daima. It's yet to be seen, if dragon ball can continue it's popularity after the sad passing of toriyama, but I can hardly imagine they are not gonna try to continue the series.

@@level3xfactor everything in the dbz space is speculation and rumors until official release date is given. They will mention something then maybe drop it literally 10 years later. In the 10 a lot has happened u have grown maybe got married with a kid on the way. So now today we have another update about it. But when I made my comment diama had no release window

@@hillboy1611 I think they will try and do something. But the question is when and will it be good? The dbz cards might be a dead move. But if content comes out that keeps it alive then we might have something with the cards.
