Using the fiber from paracord is a great idea, there's a ton of it and it's so strong!

Great video wild! you can use a pattern to make these drawstring bags, but I think these that are made without a pattern have a really great rough and authentic look to them. nice job!!!

Hi Jim, if you start in the middle of the strand you want to separate then pull from each end saves all the bunching up,

Hi jim. I used to make these before i lost a thumb,(careless)I made one for sepp fischer (waldhandweg) i used waxed dental floss as its very strong and easier to use as you can keep the ends very fine.

bob kirk great idea! i should have thought of that before i bought some waxed thread! you're right, the paracord does start to fray towards the end of the project and makes it harder to stitch. time to sew some minty fresh bags!

Very nice, useful leather pouch, freaked me a bit, the way u cut the slits for the cording, a respectful suggestion? When I make them I use the leather punch which has a wheel with many different size hole punches. Also, neat knife!!!

I found some leather at a fair and knew it might be useful. I decided to make some drawstring bags to store various bits of small kit etc.. This video shows you a simple way to make leather drawstring bags, all you need is some leather (can source from old unwanted garments) scissors, and some nylon for the stitching. I used the inner fibres from some paracord.
Its really simple and you end up with something useful and fly bespoke to your own kit and needs - give it a go!

A Note: Paracord strands are rated for 50lbs and the sheath is rated for 200lbs (50X7 strands + 200 sheath = 550lbs)
A Tip: Cutting the leather cordage at an angle making a tip will make it easier to thread :)

Waxed thread is so cheap, why tear up paracord? I use artificial waxed sinew, and saddle stitches for my pouches....this is weak and will come apart very easily...
