    Great video, very professional! My only experience as a kid with Epic was, buying a box of Tyranids, putting them on the window sill for priming with a spary can and all minis flying out from level 5.
    However bought and ork and space marine army two weeks ago and happy that I found your channel. Subscribed.

      Oh no! Poor Tyranids! They at least took part in a lore friendly atmospheric drop to the surface. So happy you’ve bought two armies. Very useful for getting others involved I think. I’ll be painting the models now so I hope you like the additional content!

    3d printing makes epic such an easy system to get into, i printed a guard army and it took no time at all, the height helps make the printing super fast. Regards stripping models, i would recommend bio strip in the UK, such an improvement over dettol and really nice to work with.

    I honestly can't really remember how I got into Epic. Back then, it seemed like a fairly organic process...
    I started with 40K, right around the start of 2. edition. Then bought fantasy. Then Space Marine. Then Blood Bowl. Then Necromunda and GorkaMorka. In fact, I think the only game from that era I never really got into was Man o' War. Too bad, because that was actually not a bad game...
    Drifted away for a while. You know... Life happens... And now 40K has gotten way too big and way way WAY to expensive for my taste. Epic is much better suited for mass-combat and with plenty of count-as models and stl files out there, this seems to be a good time to get back into the game.

    • @BUNKER6
      @BUNKER6  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I couldn’t agree more! There is a game cal Dread Fleet. I don’t know how similar that it to Man O War if at all. But it’s based in the ocean. Single boxed game. I loved the first edition Necromunda. Thought it was awesome. I hope you get to build the Epic army of your dreams!

    Reason #8: ARTILLERY!!! 😊
    I had Epic Squats back in the day, and loved their massive cannons. Nothing phallic about it!!
    But yeah, I really loved that game, being able to bring titans, super-heavy tanks, artillery and flyers meaningfully onto a single battlefield. Had Elder as well, and was kinda in love with that Phantom Titan model. Hmmmm ... eBay, was it?

    A very polished channel you have here sir, good stuff. Im an old skool 2nd Ed Epic player - got back into 40K about 5/6 years ago after a c. 20 year break (!! lol) but the last version of it totally turned me off - too much re rolling, constant updates, less focus on tactics and more of buff synergy etc. Then I noted Adeptus Titanicus had been re-released and those models were *gorgeous* so bought the starter set of that simply to see how good the sculpts were. These new Titans are very very nice indeed so it got me thinking, these look like the scale they should have been back in the 90's... I wonder what they'd look like next to the old 6mm stuff? So... I end up searching for all my old Epic stuff in the loft... 20K+ points of Imp Guard, Space Marines and Squats. Found it all, now repainting it all and have played Epic with friends who have enjoyed it, certainly in comparison to the bloated 40K ruleset as it is now. Thanks for your vids!

    Hi, Necron player from Turkey.
    I'm not playing 9th edition W40k anymore for some reasons so I started to play alternative games. Epic40k was the one of the greatest options. Thanks to 3d printing I have approximately 5k Necron Sautekh army. In Turkey, Ebay is no more an option, Paypal is blocked. Finding model is very hard for epic, 3d printing is life saver. In my local gaming club 6-7 persons started to play epic in the last year. Many are thinking to start in a while. Most players have their 3d printers, resin or PLA. Collecting is very easy and fun. Painting is easy too. Playing is great. We print many terrains which are looking very good on the table. 3d printing opens a new way in modelling and playing. Battletech, Epic, BFG and many old games are more accessible now.

      Great comment Ibrahim! When there is a will, there is a way! It sure sounds like you and your fellow gamers have managed to get into Epic despite outside limitations which is fantastic. It’s very exciting reading that Epic is being played in so many different parts of the world. 3D printing and file sharing really has transformed the specialist game space. We just need someone to make Man O War sculpts! Which edition do you play?

    I’ve seen the case made for 8mm over 6mm when using titans and such. Which do you think has a better scale? Between Epic 40K & a shrunk down version of Armageddon do you see pros or cons or either choice?

    • @BUNKER6
      @BUNKER6  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question! Apparently modern AT is 8mm. That’s also mean all the terrain for AT is 8mm too. So original epic would look a bit weird. I am quite OCD about matching scale. So if you can I’d make an 8mm army if you’re playing with Titans. New titans that is. The old titans is a whole new world of pain scale wise. Ha ha

    Love Epic 40K but not a fan of EPIC Armageddon. Yes there were some issues with the old Space Marine & Titan Legions rules (I.E. 2nd Edition Epic) and well the 3rd Edition Epic Rules were just horrible and I think design this way so that Evil GW could kill off Epic 40K which they did shortly after 3rd Edition came out.
    Oh that was the being of my pure hate for GW along with other decisions that kill off other games and turning 40K into a "Bucket of Dice" game. So I have 15,000 to 17,000+ points in five different Epic armies; Space Marines, Eldar (biggest army), Squats, Imperial Guard & Orks.
    Oh and GW decided to bring it back but like always they up the scale and the the boxset is a joke when compare with the old Epic Space Marine or Titan Legions. Sad since it was a great game 30 years ago.

    Why Epic 40k.and not the current Epic Armageddon? Just look at Net EA!

    • @BUNKER6
      @BUNKER6  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Epic 40k is a catch all term that I use. I have all the rule books apart from Net EA as I want to knock down all the official versions of the game first before diving into the fan supported rules. Thanks!

      Not in the regular GW rule sets. But NetEA may have rules for them which is a fun generated rule set that a lot of people use.
