He told me a story about a day they were filming on the water and Hulk Hogan was driving the boat. @@bigjohnsbreakfastlog5819 Kinda feeling like both. Hogan and Savage were more worldwide known names, but they catered too much to who they brought on to appease Hogan. And we see that by Fall Brawl, as Brian mentions, with Hacksaw steamrolling Austin for the US Title. It isn't like Austin was chopped liver and got the US Title by a fluke. But on the bright side, it eventually gave us the late 90s boom, even if it took a long, long while to get there.

I will give WCW this, they handled Hulk hogan's debut exactly how they should have. Give them a classic hulk hogan victory and remind people why they loved the guy. the only problem is they should have immediately done something different with him right after. they tried that with the dungeon of doom, but how great would it have been if hulk debuted, and then 6 months later the outsiders emerged. That would be a perfect timeline for things if you ask me

  • @redbigun

Ron and Fez may not mean much to people watching this review, but to me and many others, they were great. When I was in middle school back in 2001, I would listen to Opie and Anthony from 3pm to 7pm and Ron and Fez from 7pm to 11pm on 102.7 WNEW in New York. They got me through a lot at the time.
Unfortunately, Fez Whatley passed away back in 2021 due to his history of heart issues catching up to him and we'll all miss Fez. But, they were insanely entertaining and just hearing you mention them was pretty surreal.

Holy hell, Inoki worked my home town? And boy, between Steamboat retiring after a back injury at Clash and The Giant getting dropped on his head by Kevin Nash at Souled Out, maybe it’s for the best that Cedar Rapids hasn’t had a major wrestling show in 25 years, seems every time we get one someone gets hurt

    • @thedman-zx1ip

@@heisensaul5538 No, I think that WWE just prefers Des Moines as a location, since the Wells Fargo Center has a capacity of 17,00, while the Alliant Energy PowerHouse in CR only holds about 9,000. I’m honestly surprised they haven’t tried to run Iowa City for a PPV, since Kinnick Stadium holds just under 70,000 people, but maybe there’s logistical problems since that’s the University of Iowa’s football stadium
