It feels like there's a bit of a regional meta in this game right now. When I play during the day, I run into a lot of Gyarados. However, I typically play at night between 10PM-12AM PST. During those hours, something like 70% of my opponents are Japanese, and they seem to favor Celebi way more than the Western opponents I play during the day. I ended up powering through the emblem event mostly with Arcanine thanks to this, lol
This seems to happen across tcg’s in general in my experience. I used to play MtG competitively and if you looked at meta decks online/played you could see what different regions seemed to prefer because the meta percentage differences you’d see in more local tournaments. It was always really interesting to see
I absolutely love how this format has tossed and turned with a mini set despite initially feeling like it was simply Celebi plus *a buff to pre-existing decks. Now Celebi isn’t considered anywhere near the top of the food chain plus it feels like we have kind of like an uneven triangle format because of how some *decks do so well against others. Phenomenal set for us. And great content man
There are so many viable decks now idek what the actual best one is. It really feels like there’s a best deck for each tournament based on the play rates of other decks, but no overall best one. Maybe Pikachu for pure consistency and decent matchup spread? This set has been great for variety
If they'd done something about the misty card it would be a very successful expansion. As it stands, "50% do nothing, 50% win the game" remains the worst designed thing I've ever seen in a game and it's very hard to have any faith in a design team that can't recognise what a mistake that was.
What do you think about my Deck ? 2 x Greninja line (6) 2 x Lumineon line (4) 2 x Articuno (2) 2 x Pokeflute (2) 2 x Pokeball (2) 2 x Profesor´s Research (2) 1 x Sabrina (1) 1 x Leaf (1) (20) It´s a Benchsniping deck wich hard counters Druddigon Meta Very strong against Blaine with lumineon havin 0 retreat cost and hitting for 50 + greninja (20) you can even get the 70 hp base pokemons down Articuno is a good wall for the beginning and you don´t even need misty cause the others got so low energie and retreat cost
@@koYyn i like your deck, but personally would prefer trading 1 pokeflute with 1 misty. I know pokeflute can net you that last point with lumineon and greninja but the possibility of an early misty + articuno just steamrolling cannot be understated
Right! There's a lot of good players out there. No shade to the content creator but the fights they share tend to be much easier than the ones than at least personally I've encountered regularly!
Going to try this deck list, I enjoyed a modification of your scolipede list where I ditched the kogas and muk for 2x potion and 1x ekans 1x arbok. It really helps give you time to build up venoshock by preventing opponents using x speed or leaf to save their active slo. Keep up the good vids!
I used your greninja egg deck in the most recent meta monday tournament and came 15th, i beat a golem, pikachu, and gyarados deck. I think it’s still pretty good in the current meta
@mesprith This is a spread damage deck full of single prize cards to avoid giving up the prize trade. There is no chance Mewtwo or Charizard, two decks that have fallen off, are going to get set up before being put in range of Tauros or Marshadow
@@AlphaOutlaw You can still price trade efficiently with giving 2 one pricers then a two pricer, in fact it adds up better as two pricers are bulkier and usually more impactful. Versatile decks like these do better with Mew EX as a one of as it doesn't need any particular type of energy for its Genome hacking, it almost seems like it has been designed to nicely fit in those types of decks. The extra 20 on the Hitmonchan will not matter most of the times as it's getting knocked out anyways with 80 health.
@TillyTCG You yourself said that Mewtwo has lost a lot of play, and Gyarados seems to be topping the charts. That Golem deck seems to be everywhere too
Man, I don't know how you all make these mixed decks work. I feel like I get screwed with the wrong energy comming up too many times in a row. I wish the energy system was more predicatble.
NOOOO! MY DECK HAS FINALLY GOTTEN EXPOSED!!! I've been running these guys for over a month!! Well my version was just hitmonchan and the greninja line. A really fun deck, but taking inspiration from this version, I will add a mew EX. A bit risky, but has more counter play options against ALL decks. Not just EX decks which Tauros offers. Just having Mew on the bench will force the opponent into a hard decision. Continue taking chip damage from Hitmonchan & Greninja. Or step out to the active spot. A lose-lose situation, as I can sacrifice a "pawn", then bring Mew out with tempo and KO their heavy hitter.
New Golem deck wants to set up behind Drudd, and that’s kinda where this deck shines. Also Greninja damage doesn’t get affected by Golem’s damage reduction
@@pjanderson4876 While some games maybe could work out that way, idk. Golem would take about the same amount of time to setup as gren- both stage 2s. +1 Brock gets the energy done. Then maybe one ping before looking at a 140hp golem one shot for everything in the deck. Hitmonlee would help for sure, but still not sure it helps enough to make it a good matchup. @@seanoneill9299 You’re not wrong, but the Hitmonlee helps out more than you’d think in this match-up. Drudd out front can’t do anything to a Hitmonlee, and can 3 hit Geodude. I would still give it to Golem in this match-up though, but it’s not like this deck has no counterplay at all.
@@pjanderson4876 true, id agree its not impossible to take down golem. but even in what you said- have to draw hitmonlee early, and can three hit geodude, but they might have two and make one hit a waste, but also normally likely to find at least graveler. in a good spot that can happen, but id definitely feel if golem gets into actvie without a whole lot of damage its ggs. which tbf not too many decks can handle golem rn. think its super tough matchup. but more fun more viable decks always make the game better. super excited to see them all

What’s the rationale there?
@@shawng.478farfetch’d does more damage
