The blue datejust is a lovely watch. But what's also interesting is that, as Jon says, list is £9300. He says the customer paid an extra £1300 through them for a 2024 watch. So £10600. Fair enough. But on the Watch trader website the same config, and a 2024 watch is up for nearly £12k.... So I can only assume the customer here.... In the bit we didn't see.... Managed to negotiate the price down from that figure to £10600 !? I read then that big discounts on the high prices on Grey market dealers websites are readily there. E.G. this is a very desirable combo, Blue, Fluted and Jubilee.... So clearly look before you leap at a Grey price. In the current market, there is a lot to come off, even notwithstanding the deal is still above list....
So sad that this gentleman treasured that datejust for 60 years, obviously had nobody to hand it down to so gave it to the church who in turn just sold it to a dealer.
I'm new to the watch world. My head spins like a top trying to figure out what is going on, it's a completely new language of watches to learn, fun but confusing. Cheers
Jack love your work, missed out on an omega on the group deals this week gutted was hoping to pick it up with a signed jon the polish calendar. Fair do's Jon takes it in good spirit 😅
How about , one other manufacturer of watch than Rolex per video . Not one example in this video . Are you watching dealers or not ? P.S. I do like your videos
I said it once before and I’ll say it again, In Sir John Polish We Trust! 🙏🏼 😅
Absolutely loved all the story which came with the Datejust, absolutely amazing!
Incredible!
The guy who paid 20k for a Starbucks must be pissed when he sees the prices they go for now
Bank of england inflation calculator says 459 pound in 1967 is 7106 pound today!
You gotta have Hendo do the unboxing for the vintage stuff!

On the plus side sounds like the new owner will enjoy it just as much.
@@jeeves951 Very true.
You don’t think a grandson would have done the same thing? 😅
@@BIG2hats I know I wouldn't.

That 72 sub is my absolute grail watch 😍

Depending on the price I 100% would buy that 70’s sub red letters
The GMT for 84 GBP in 1967 would be an equivalent price of 1300 GBP today.
The best thing about the new Explorer is they fixed the ladies sized crown on the 39mm version. Compare and you won't be able to unsee the difference.
Enjoyable video guys like the story behind the old datejust
Thanks Simon
Really enjoyed this episode
We’re glad to hear it. Thanks for letting us know
That Explorer is very tempting at that price.
You can buy this watch EASILY from most ADs. I've been offered it twice this week!
Just get a spankers one from an AD, plenty of them available, Prestons had one available when I was in Leeds 2 weeks ago.
@@r1pperuk brand new ones available at ADs for same price!
Show also other Watches, Not only Boring Rolex….
Just curious. What did you sell the 1960s Datejust for?
Rolex Datejusts are the finest vintage wathes in the world.
You’re going to have to knock a few hundred more off the explorer. I reckon it needs a polish 😀😀😀
DOTW wrong ref number, it should be 224270. 124 is 36mm version! 😉
Good spot, thank you
Jon does this need a Polish 😂 👍
Do you get many 5512 watches?
Wich is better starbucks or rolex yacht master blue dial?
Starbucks
Ouch brought it from Flippers and lost £7k on that sub!!!!
He lost more than 7k. He bought it for 19k and sold it for well less than the 12k they sold it for. He got maybe 9.5k.
The mark on the glass is because of the ar coating ruined

You'd need to ask the customers or you could check out last weeks video. There were a lot of other brands in that one. Thanks!
I cannot afford a Rolex
Sniff sniff
