Not a true geologist, though I have an associates, but I would assume it is quite similar to what happens in the southwest's more famous aeolian sandstone, the navajo/nugget sandstone. The Cedar Mesa Sandstone likely has similar geochemical processes that allow for iron to come out of solution(groundwater) either at cracks or various depositional planes. Though the Navajo is really famous for its concretions, the same process can create either phenomenon.@@the_pov_channel

Dry arid land like that can be prone to extremely fast rising and fast moving high water scenarios. Even if it's completely dry where you are, if you are in a slot canyon and a sudden downfall occurs North of you, all that water across square miles of hard non porous land gets channelled into large walls of water that can come up on hikers very quickly before they even realize there was any danger of flooding.

I can't help but wonder if the larger formations are concretions of some kind, perhaps formed in the same way a casting is, sort of a negative 3D negative of a cave once formed in the softer, less durable rock around it? I've seen formationa like that before, where the material (sediment, rocks, clay, etc.) washed into a riverbed or ancient animal burrow, and cemented into a material that's harder and more durable than the landscape around it. You can find "fossilized" riverbeds in some places, where alluvial aggregate is remains in situ after the river dried up and was buried, turned into a sort of natural cement by pressure and the chemistry of the material. Then, after vast, untold stretches of time, the surrounding earth is washed or blown away, leaving only the material from the river bed, which describes the ancient course of the river. I'm no geologist, but, to me, they look similar both to that kind of material aggregate, and to the petrified mounds of bat guano you can find on certain caverns. I'd love to hear what an actual geologist would say about them, and the way they formed.

Amazing! Where is this?
I'm so in Love with what you do!! And very grateful for you sharing and allowing us to vicariously travel through you, and respecting physically and morally the places you go visit.😍🤩 💕🙏
A decade ago I used to use google earth for fun and post on my facebook under "what did I just saw?!" but I never went and search more about the places that intrigued me (well, I didn't have the time nor the money).
And so I'm very very happy that you really do it. Thank you again for sharing and wishing you many more wonderful adventures to come!
Be safe in all times! 🙏💕
Fantastic, I love Sandstone geology, for such a basic principle of sand, lots of it and weathering, incredible structures. Love your dog too, is it a collie mix?
Thanks! Aussie
A channel called "Mudfossil University" has a neat perspective on what you're seeing is actually biology. Even scripture says the earth is made of the carcasses of titans.
Never came across that, could you tell where please ?
Oh, Nolan, I'm so glad I learned of your channel! Thank You, Heath Putnam! The geology is off the charts here! What you called 'the corkscrew', kind of looked like a desert rock version of Yin/Yang. And, if you don't know, some of us have one boob larger than the other, so, anatomically the rock boobs are correct. 🤣🤣🤣 Thank You for another awesome experience!
I can't thank you enough....I am in awe.
The softserve formation seemed to have a well defined pathway running counter clockwise against and cross the grain spiraling to the top.
Flyby at 14:17 was awesome ...
Sweet video Makes me confuse also😮 Mama😅
Cooked out canyons. Melted from the Phoenix.
Would love to see the Coordinates to this location that would be epic
You are the best at revealing hidden truths about people... Keep going, hero
Dude very cool keep it rocking on!show us mother nature art👍
Will do. Beautiful art
i bet they feel like two... big... bags of sand!
if only
Mudfossil University guy would love this!
He blocked roger from this channel. All this channel is after is VANITY and making a name for Himself. This channel could care less about the truth! This channel suffers from SEVERE MENTICIDE as well.
I don't think I've heard you mention "spooky vibes" before ? That doesn't sound too settling. This place is unlike anything I've ever seen. What in world happened in this place. It is creepy !! STAY SAFE out there. LOVE your videos - They are truly One of a Kind!!
Sounds are so calming
Did anyone notice the Toes at 19:19, their bended down. It’s the big toe & the next 3 toes.
Or am I just seeing things?
Brings a whole new meaning to..... mother nature. She a baddy ayy 😂
Not ''mother'', but Father!
@@tomgunn8004 don't assume it's gender 🥲
Home run! 🎆
It looks like a large-scale electric plasma discharge happened over the entire area.
looks more like a natural deposit of Iron and Magnesium oxides to me but hey I am a Geologist,, so Yea there is that
@@chrisr4188natural in the sense in that all of that iron comes from the blood of a giant long dead being.
@@chicagoarty3933 Iron and Magnesium are common in these kind of ancient fossil sand dunes
Spectacular, breath taking, majestic. Great filming, raw footage of nature's wonders and God's creation
Thanks for taking me there never could’ve done it without you!
You gotta do a collab with Desert Drifter bro
Don’t stop
You should really hook-up with Roger from Mudfossil U. He provides
a lot of answers to your questions
Очень и очень впечатляющие места и снимки с дрона! Вы очень профессионально все сделали. Окаменевшая лава и каньон просто грандиозные. Успехов вам и будьте осторожны.
Thankyou for showing such places so closely . Greetings from India 🙏🎉💐
12:35 They are petrified body parts of the giants from the flood in Genesis 6.
I was waiting for a comment like this in here
When you yelled echo, mother nature felt ashamed for being so loose..
I wish I had the resources to join you there, I'm from the Netherlands but I'm in love with the Grand Canyon :( So much weirdness and diverse terrain..
Meltology! Melted buildings!
WAT.
Thank you , finally someone sees what I have been saying for years
OMG, @@the_pov_channel - that is what I was thinking the whole time!
Yes - this is a giant melted city - as are in his other giant cube rock discoveries- likely true melted Babel and Egypt. The scriptures are real man- they have been fulfilled - and WE are in Revelation ch 20:7 imo
Yeah, the sun has sent us a fair few surface melting solar flares over earths long past.
Petition to make this a national park
Amazing !!! Thank you so much for showing us the beauty of this place. The beauty of our world 🌎 ❤️ ♥️
Man what is this comment section
It's a wild place in here
