When first i saw the trailer on my t.v i immediately said out loud "OH HELL YEAH!" I was so privileged to have witnessed on the Big Screen the best film i have ever seen. Thank you Mr.Oldman🙏❤
Kristen Scott Thomas was perfect in the role.I have read as much as my limited brain allowed me, to read everything on the great man. Clementine was a powerhouse in her own right. Powerful people usually date within their intellectual pool. Chairman Red Cross Aid to Russia fund, outliving 3 of her 5 children.
My favorite (unforgettable) lines: "You are strong because you are imperfect. You are wise because you have doubt." And of course - "Up your bum!" Then a third (something to the effect of) "We reach for it because it is impossible."
I loved this movie and I think I need the Blu-Ray so I can watch the movie again and see the special features and all. So much of the movie is about Churchill the man, in close range--suggestions of the war developing but the drama of human individuals is up front. And as for the "probably fictional" tube scene--since Churchill is "off the radar" in that scene, there's no record that it happened, and yet we can see it as a dramatization of what did happen: Churchill reached out to the British people, probably not as we see him do in the tube scene, but in many ways that enabled Britain to prevail in WWII.

Glad to see Kristin and Lily are making British historical figures relevant. Wasn't just Gary Oldman being fabulous.
