  • Hey everyone...in this video I discuss what it feels like going into my first Mother's Day without my Mom. I also discuss something that she wanted for me more than anything: my health. I talk about where I stand physically, mentally, my goals for behavior and diet change as well as weight loss goals. I also reflect on what the past year of recovery has done to me as a person, the strength I have had to find in myself, and how to get through situations you didn't think you ever could. I realize this is a long video, but I actually think it is one of my most worth watching, as it covers many important things worth hearing. I hope you can take something helpful away from it. I'll look forward to hearing your feedback. Thanks and take care. Cheers.

My sincerest condolences for your mother. I was really deeply impacted when you first put up the video the accident. Thank you for the reminder for the love my mother deserves.
It sounds great that you're moving to be healthier, and I'm actually working on the same. You certainly have a great attitude on making that change.
I've done the same before in losing weight and plan on using the same strategy I used before. My #1 rule was calories and food. Cutting down on alcohol is huge. Take out breads/pasta/most carbs, loads of vegetables and salad, mostly chicken breast for protein. Eat mostly at home. Cheat meals on the weekend, for sanity. Weight lifting (or cardio) was part of my plan, but I found diet to be by far the largest part of the puzzle. I can't wait to hear great updates on your progress.
    Cheers Nick!

I have gone through this myself. I am glad for you that you have found your inner strength. What has been a solid relief to me is that I have never forgotten my lost loved ones and I hope that's also a source of empowerment for you.

Tough video to watch (especially the end), Nick. I can't imagine going through that. I'm a new sub, so I never saw your original video and wanted to send my condolences to you and your family. Glad you are continuing to live life and make your Mom proud. Good luck on your journey to a healthier lifestyle. Cheers.

Keep it up man. This is the first and only video I've ever seen from you. It's Mother's Day 2017 and your video helped me move some emotions around that have been stagnant lately. It's been over 12 years since my mom's sudden death and while it does get easier it seems like the pain will never go away. I can tell that you have made progress and for that I commend you. Thank you for posting this, truly.

Hey nick I love your beer reviews! Have you ever thought about eating more vegan foods? You don't have to become vegan but eating more vegan foods could help you lose weight, look better and feel great too! I'm a craft beer lover and I know for a fact that being vegan has helped me not gain weight. You are what you eat. Cheers!

P Fitzgerald Hey! Thanks a lot for the support and comment. I have no dived into vegan foods too much before aside from trying a few things...which I thought tasted just fine! I'll have to see if there's some things out there I can pick up I'd enjoy. Thanks. Cheers
