"Tecline Frameless Superview Mask" is factory-equipped with that construction. The question remains where to get that ISE-Maskstrap from. It looks way better than standard neoprene maskstraps!
For those who are still searching for a compatible mask, I've just bought the "Beuchat Maxlux" and It seems like it's possible with it! Make your own research as I have'nt done it my self but I hope this helps anyway! Love the video BTW ;)
I've had the QD ones fail on my. Only on land though, after it failed I got rid of them. Also seen the push to release ones stop gripping the strap and loosen constantly during the dive. In a pinch you can fix it under by tieing the strap around itself.
After i saw this vid i checked my mask's and found a defect. It's a atomic mask and only two years old. The plasti thing wich hold the steel rod what is going thrue the silicon chipt of a bit. So i think a V4A ring is a good prober solution .
I tend to agree with other comments here. As long as you choose a mask without a convoluted buckle design, this kind of modification seems to be a solution to the problems of a the era before silicone masks.
I generally love your videos and suggestions but in this one you are suggesting eliminating a silicone strap failure point by replacing it with a nylon webbing strap....attached to a d-ring attached to the silicone skirt. If silicone is going to fail it is going to fail. The ring attached to skirt is prone to just as much stress as the mask strap.
Thanks for the videos. Most of them I find quite informative and thoughtful. This one just seems inconsistent with what you normally produce. Specifically, this manner of modifying a mask seems ill advised and potentially dangerous. We all do some level of modification to our gear. From cutting webbing and moving D-rings to creating leashes and adding tank straps for a pony tank of Argon tank and many more. None of these fall into the same category as this one though. A scuba mask, like any other whole product you buy, has been tested during the development of the product. Some of the tests that products undergo are reliability testing. Every single brand of equipment insists that tests are performed on any equipment with their name on it. So, we can assume that there was some donning and doffing test of the mask, and some stretch test of the mask strap with the buckles and the mask all put together. There is certainly some standard that the mask had to pass as designed and manufactured that it could handle some minimum number of donning and doffing cycles as a complete mask unit. Now, in this video, you are suggesting that divers pull out the buckle and replace it with the bent piece of metal wire. So, even assuming that a diver gets this done without damaging the strap, mask skirt, or buckle with a tiny tear or crack that will get worse over time, they’ve just rendered all of the testing that was done on the mask in the first place irrelevant. No one knows how long a mask that has been modified like this is going to last and how it will fail, but the entire unit will probably not last as long as the original configuration, otherwise high end manufacturers would already be making masks like this. This video just doesn’t seem to be in the same league as the rest of your videos that you’ve made that highlight your experience, knowledge, and clarity of thought around diving.
I got a atomic aquatics mask, and quess what ? The plastic from the strap holder brock and i will not pay big money for replacemente to get the same problem in two years again. The steel ring will do the job better and longer .
One of the best educational diving channels on TH-cam!! for real. I've learned so much from InnerSpace Explorers

I'm impressed with your shop.
Where do I get that beautiful mask strap!
where i can buy the mask strap? looks really cool :)
Vise is really good for accurate bending, instead of using Channel locks to squeeze.
Really good video, will be applying this META to my SP frameless
Can you do this to a Hollis M-1?
Nice tip. You can always use a small keychain ring.....
Good modification! Thanks for showing
Where can I get that mask strap from?
Danke, dass du das Video endlich gemacht hast. Verrätst du noch ob der Stahl V2A oder V4A ist? Vielen Dank für deine informativen Videos.
V4A
I’m diving since 2002, and I have never experienced or witnessed a mask strap failure. Just wondering is this necessary?

the audio is offset from the video
I feel like he's trolling us at this point. Audio is always messed up in some way.
Finally! Good video.
Gut erklärt!
Das werde ich an meinen Masken auch so machen! 😎🤙🏻
or you can buy stainless steel welded D rings and use the edge grinder to cut them open.

or just carry a 2nd mask if you want that much security,

I just don't think it's enough
(oh god, that mess in the workshop is a recipe for disaster!)
Don’t Feck with your mask like this. Buy a quality mask in the first place. Inspect it, as with all your other gear, to ensure it is fit for diving.
