    Hey man! Just came back from Japan and wanted do say: BIG THANKS DUDE! You helped me a lot! Akiba zone was a disappointment, bua thanks to you I saved a day to go to Saitama and spent an afternoon at the Surugaya at Omiya. That place was heaven. Got so many good games there at 30/50% off the price of central Tokyo. I can send you a picture of the loot if you wanna see. Again, thank you!

    Hey JJ, thanks again for guiding me around Akihabara. That's my treasure at 2:00!
    The knowledge that JJ brought and having an extra set of eyes to look through the thousands of cartridges was super helpful. He saved me so much money finding all the hardware with his vast knowledge of games prices. For example I saved almost 40% for a top loader famicom that was located in a store that didn't specialize in games.

      It was a pleasure, and a great time hunting at that! I hope all is well, game on!!

    Great video as always, man! I'd really like to get that PS One combo with the LCD display too. Looks neat. Pretty good price on that one.

    I found this 18:42 passport game complete for 100 yen in the tiny hardoff in Akihabara, where they mainly have junk only.

    Great stuff as usual. The game at 11:11 is GiFTPiA, highly sought after though the language barrier is supposed to be tough. I’d have grabbed it, though want I really want is that PSOne. Oh, and have fun with TR2, one of my favorite games. You did take care of the annoying butler on the training level, didn’t you?

    • @RetroReWire
      @RetroReWire  ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh man! I dove straight into the game, haha. I’ll have to play the training level now.
      Thanks for the insight on GiFTPiA. Cheers!

    Hi! I am going to Hiroshima to visit family in November. Was wondering if you can make a video out there? There’s not that many retro game hunting videos out in Hiroshima

      Look for a chain of second-hand shops called レプトン (Lepton)

    • @RetroReWire
      @RetroReWire  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hiroshima is on my list. As Eric says, Lepton is a chain located in that area that is worth visiting. I feel Hiroshima has some good shops to offer. Cheers!

    I need that dancing game for n64 but I just cant justify the huge box it comes in. Same with the train game pedals lol

    • @RetroReWire
      @RetroReWire  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The boxes can be huge. I typically sell off the boxes to my consoles as well. My space is limited, so keeping empty boxes is difficult. Cheers!

    This 26:19 Bio definitely on the lower side, because it's "the best" version, I got the regular version for 2700

    I am so happy I got an even cheaper SF Alpha 2 for saturn a few days ago :)

    • @RetroReWire
      @RetroReWire  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Alpha 2 is a solid fighter. Street Fighter Zero 2 dash, also known as Alpha 2 Gold, is an update to the game. It’s also worth picking up. Cheers!

    Visiting in late October, but will only be in the typical spots Akihabara, Shinjuku, Shibuya, then Denden and Kyoto. Should I just accept my fate that everything will be 2x, 3x more expensive due to tourists tax, compared to stores outside major cities?

    • @RetroReWire
      @RetroReWire  ปีที่แล้ว

      You will have some benefits! The first being many shop concentrated in one area. Two, many of the shops will be tax free, so you will save yourself that 10%. Have your passport handy. The rest will depend on what exactly you are looking to buy. Common titles won’t break the bank. And don’t forget to browse the junk section! Cheers!

    Love the videos man! I’m going to Japan in September and am wondering - I know Akihabara inflates prices cause of tourists, but if I have to buy from there or the touristy areas of Tokyo, where are the best prices normally?

    • @RetroReWire
      @RetroReWire  ปีที่แล้ว

      Akihabra is like Anor Londo from the Souls series: decay is ever creeping, but there are still splendors to behold and treasure to discover!
      Trader HQ is a shop that sits comfortable in the middle. Their stock has dwindled, but they still manage to surprise me more often than not. I love that place! Surugaya is another go-to spot. Their junk section is noteworthy. And ole BEEP! I scored a beautiful, complete copy of Thunder Force V for the Saturn for a very reasonable ¥6,900. I wasn't expecting that from Beep.
      Be sure to have a solid pickups list in hand, and above all -- wear comfy shoes! Haha, cheers!

      I like the cover art to Vanguard Bandits. I’ve seen a copy at Retro Game Trader in Beaverton, Oregon USA. It’s a pricey one! Cheers!

    11:45 - OBAKE no Q Tarou Wan Wan Panic Q-Taro - Its on my list. Gregory horrow show isn't like mindcraft its like a cutesy resident evil. Was only released in PAL and Japan territories, USA still had that silly rule that if it wasn't groundbreaking they wouldn't release it.

    • @RetroReWire
      @RetroReWire  ปีที่แล้ว

      It's the first time I hear about Gregory Horror Show. I looked up a video, and it has a very interesting visual design. I'll have to look up Obake Q Tarou Panic as it's another title I'm not familiar with. Cheers!

    I never got the idea why current gen titles are having such a steep prices like 4 years after launch...Also, if you can find, please show Tekken 7 on PS4, i'm jus curious about pricing, thanks.

    • @RetroReWire
      @RetroReWire  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The new Zelda is hovering around the ¥8,000 mark. The NA version in Tokyo goes for around ¥9000. I’ll keep a lookout for Tekken 7, cheers!
