    Your English was correct, compromise. Great points about the knife's eros and blade use.

    You had that for a while now and it still looks as good as new. Cool tool for outdoorsman and good modification.

      :-) Well, I try to care about my knives and I rotate them. If I go to forest from a spring to autumn I usualy don´t take a heavy chopper with me. I take a machete rather instead. Also, since I bought that CS Warcraft tanto (and I will do comparison of these knives), it is more time with me then the kukri - the WT is more versatile and lighter and sits on my gear better, so.... Anyway, if I need a dedicated chopper, the kukri is on the first position still;-) Thanks for comment anyway:-) FM

    I think i will stick to my trusty Cóndor mini parang as one tool option, It has a sweet nice spot right where the keen Edge starts, (also is the parang center of gravity) so you can chock It up right there for fine carving.

      I like a parang design so it is only a matter of time before I buy some, I agree, the parang is another great choice for tasks I did in the video:-) Have a great time. FM

    Hi FM, called Tops and they do not put the company logo on the handle anymore and my T1 was made this year in February according to serial number. Just purchased a Tops BOB also. Now looking for quality leather scout carry sheaths for both blades.

    I wanted one of these in the San Mai III steel, out of Japan, but I waited too long. CS no longer makes these style knives, which to me is a shame. The part of the traditional Nepalese version that you speak of is often called the 'cho' and some say it's for 'religious' reasons, and others (Nepalese people) say it is for stress relief. Whatever the reason, there are some that have the 'cho' much nearer the handle scales than you are speaking of here - that area between the blade edge and handle scales is called the ricasso. Glad you're having fun with the blade.
    ATB :-)

      Hi, thanks for the corrections:-) I use the term "ricasso" more in a sword/sabre topic, but yes, it is the same place:-) About CS, I saw both these khukries (with/without the guard) on CS page last year. There was a notice, they will start to make them of A2 steel and this year (2021) they advertised it made of CPM3V, so hard to say, what they will do... And it is great knife and I call the guard a big upgrade for me;-) FM

      I have their San Mai III Gurkha Kukri. I wasn't able to find the Plus version (with guard) in San Mai III.
      I honestly can't recommend this version. If I had the choice now, I would buy one of their higher carbon versions, with the guard. Since it's a chopping tool, there's higher risk of chipping the edge. The carbon steel I believe to be less likely to chip.

    • @honortruth3600
      @honortruth3600 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you're dead set on stainless steel, I believe there's a good reason they've chosen CPM3V instead of San Mai III for their next production.

    • @forestmantis1737
      @forestmantis1737  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@honortruth3600 Yeah, they are going to make this PLUS version out of CPM3V this year so this could be a great option. As far as I know, they never made San Mai III PLUS version. Thank you for the comment anyway:-) FM

      @@honortruth3600 Oh, I get this response after I wrote my answer below. I don´t want such a chopper out of stainless, O1 isn´t and those on San Mai are 420 I believe, but those (420 sides) are there not only because they are stainless but they are soft enough to protect the hard core, as I know. Today, I would prefer 3V over San Mai if I need to choose. FM
