Honestly what this kit really needs is a Proper Front Clip Conversion to the 81-87 (or 81-93 Suburban, Jimmies and Mexican R/V C/K trucks) C/K model Years, that, and a 2 wheel Drive IFS for the TF2 chassis, that would make these Trucks all the more versatile in terms of what you want to build... Not everyone wants a 4x4 Off-road scaler, id like to build a Real nice 2wd C10 short-bed to match my real C10 Short-bed.
Well hang on to your scale parts 😂 because FMS has new 1:10 scale crawlers that look just like the 1:24 scale Chevy Blazers they have. One is the same orange & white & it seems a bit bigger then 1:10 scale but it’s amazing & has all the features of a TRX 4 & dig & the chassis is amazing. But the body is just absolutely beautiful can’t wait to get one the owner of FMS said November is when they should be available.
I think the K10 body has more space for the tires than the blazer body. So if you want to build a truck with small wheels, you need to convert the blazer body. How about a conversion kit to an 80s squarebody? That should be very popular.
The front wheel well on the Scottsdale has a little more clearance at the back of the tire. So far no plans for a later model conversion mostly because its a very involved project. I do get a request for that once in a while.
Leaf spring shackle relocation is almost required right out of the box, along with a servo, speed controller, motor...I don't think the conversion bits will stop selling because so many parts of the rc4wd kit are hard to live with.
I agree, as usual the electonics are nothing to write home about, and the weird shackles are, well, weird. There definitely still some folks doing the conversion. Also if you want to do a flatbed or something like that, the conversion is the way to go since you can support the cab with 4 screws.
Nice video bro. I bought one of the K10’s from RC4WD and the paint in one area on fender had scratches on it! I don’t understand their quality it’s very bad! Have you ever had problems with their stuff? Thanks
Everyone has problems with there stuff. my blazer had stripped ring gear in the rear diff and I made sure all screws were tight before first run I was pissed for the price of the rig I will never buy a rc4wd product from them again
@@thomaspayne4507 Hello , yes their stuff is a love hate relationship with me lol I have too much of their stuff and really love the scale details of their machines. Their quality is a JOKE sometimes and pisses me off! Although their customer support is good and will always replace whatever is wrong. I wish that I didn’t like their stuff , I would have more money……
Some call their RTR's "ready to rebuild." All the screws come without loc-tite, so they fall out (drive shafts for example) unless you take it apart and put it back together with loc-tite. Also I've found some screws badly overtightened. My Scottsdale came with excessive glue on the lighting wires that was sagging and showing in the fender well from outside, and I had to trim it away. The electronics are meh, like most RTR's, and they can't handle a ton of power without breaking. That being said, I am one of their biggest fans because they make hard bodies with nice scale details that nobody else makes, and ShrinkRC probably wouldn't exist without them. I have never called their customer service for an issue but I have always heard they are very good but also take some time.
Maaan I really want to build one of these someday! If I did the blazer kit on an enduro, whats the biggest tire that would fit? I love the look of these rigs.
If you want to fit with no trimming and no rubbing you have to go tiny, like 3.9 or even less. You can go 4.19 with some rubbing and/or some trimming. Any bigger than that get out the hatchet.
The SCX10iii is a thorny one for me hahah. I know they are very popular, and the original 10 and 10ii are some of the best rigs ever. I also have a SCX10 Pro which is one of my best trucks. But the 10iii has huge transmissions and some other issues that really are hard to work with for me. So far I have no plans to support it unfortunately.
Thank you very much! Its a Mopar color, F8 Green, painted by my buddy (@slow.crawler on Instagram). He paints 1:1 cars and trucks for a living, and he used automotive paint.
I have parts for the Scottsdale, including a hood scoop, front bench seat, roll pan, and dually fenders in two different widths. Soon I will offer body mounts as well. If you have suggestions for any other parts send 'em my way.

Just another truck to work your magic on my friend 👍🏻
Hehe thanks bud!
My next purchase right there.

I just heard about that, I'm very curious to see it!

i've already got a front end conversion,
Nice Truck. Excellent video. Mine is about to arrive...!
Nice! I think you're gonna like it!
Chevy Square body trucks also came with bucket seats. I prefer the bench seat though. Cool video man. 🤙🏽
I did some research that says you are correct, the buckets were apparently an option! I did not know that, thanks for the info! Jesse
they were only an option from 1973-1976 after that they were gotten rid of and all you got was either Vinyl or cloth bench.

Please come out with something for the SCX10 III. I hate, hate, hate those factory mounts.

That Green short box is killer. What green is that? I love it!!!! Looks 100% better than the blue rtr!!!!!!!

When u going to have crew cab conversion?
I've always recommended buying an extra body (just the shell) for this. Its stronger and cheaper than what I can make.
I’m just waiting for them to release the body kit by itself.
I hear its gonna be a while (it usually is), no official info though. When they do I'll make mounts for it.
Why not just start making parts for the new Scottsdale too. 🤷♂️ the main reason people like the new Scottsdale is its leaf sprung.

Start selling Rc4wd converted trucks for us non skilled folks lol
🤣You can do it I believe in you!!
it's not hard to make a conversion if i can do it anybody can lol
Please keep making your truck bed because rc4wd is not reliable with keeping bodies in stock.
I will, thank you!
shorter fenders would look more scale an maybe the hood scoop be shorter also maybe by half lol but great to see it up close makes me still want one
