I think that for grappling, the 10-2 is the superior exercise. It works your grip intelligence since there is a whole lot of gripping and letting go going on as well as reinforces throwing patterns as you bring the gada down toward your hips.
Thank you for the info. 300 vs 360? I've always thought the 300 was sort of cheating because it's easier (at least for me), but your discussion of muscle activation combined with the discussion of heavy gada training makes sense.
The angle can change somewhat depending on the mace you're using. The longer/heavier it gets the lower it will come out with proper technique. What I was showing with the red mace was approximately 300 degrees. The goal is to make the distinction between the 300 and the 360, that's the most important thing ;)

Your version of a 300 is closer to a 270, as a 10&2 kind-of create a 90° angle, just like 270° of rotation
