I actually bought a HR-V ex-l, and I'm hoping it does well in the snow. I bought mine based on your first off-road review of it. Keep the great videos coming!!
Thanks for this video! I will most definitely get a HR-V. Having moved to Colorado I need a AWD crossover that can handle the snow, not to expensive and still get comparable mpg's to my Cruze. This vehicle fits the mode perfect!
LOL! "Let me just double check here..." Hands off, reading a sheet of paper, going down a snowy hill. I dont know why, but that made me laugh out loud. Its like the perfect storm of "never do this", in such a way that it felt intentionally comical, like a bad 90's work place safety informational VHS. Im sure you didnt mean it to be funny, but im still chuckling from it.
+Everyman Driver Oh I know it wasn't anywhere near as bad as it looked. There was just something about the timing of it, with the look on your face in one camera, and the ground getting closer in the other camera, that just made it hilarious.
Nice video and thanks for posting. I was impressed with my HRV in the snow and ice with the stock tires. Imagine the HRV with real snow or winter tires. Use my HRV for on road condition. Off road, I used a M561 Gamma Goat. LOL.
I love this little suv BUT Honda does not make it with a 6 Speed Manual with AWD... it is a shame that Honda doesn't understand that many car buyers that are not happy with Subaru's issues will just switch to Honda because of better overall reliability.
Would you recommend it for winter city driving? I'm talking about Winnipeg in Canada, but let's say an average city with regular but not constant snow plowing.
I am beginning to really consider an HR-V. My question is this--how reliable is the CVT from Honda? I like to keep my vehicles for a long time and was curious as to whether you think that the HR- V will hold up over the long haul. I enjoyed the video but I knew that those trucks would make it due to the deep ruts in the snow pack. The off road capability doesn't interest me The only time I went " off-road" was with my 1989 Mazda 323 hatchback w/ 4 speed manual. I went down a trail in the Green Mountain National Forest but that "road" was not that bad. I just went slow and steady.
+Peter Ximas No more off-roading UNLESS the vehicle is meant for off-roading... even then, I may not chance it.... don't want to be black listed for abusing press vehicles... sorry.
+Everyman Driver ok then .. But i'm sure the volvo xc90 is meant to face more difficult situations than the little HR-V...awd Haldex , air suspension so you can increase the ground clearance , SUV category....

Are people seriously complaining that he read for like 4 seconds while he was going 2mph while there was nothing in front of him? I guarantee the same people comparing do way worse stuff while driving.
This guy has the perfect broadcaster voice.
Lol when the car was still moving and he was reading off the paper
+Riding With Jahv I promise you, I was not being reckless or unsafe.
At 2 while mph :p
+Everyman Driver CAN U MORE TOYOTA REVIEWS THANKS
deep wet snow is toughest to go in...HRV did well! other trucks had bigger tires and did not make the hill...
+mike schlup I thought so too. Thx

xzimxzim how are you enjoying your hrv so far? 3 years now. I’d like to know
How's it going with your Honda HRV?
You scared me when you got close to those ponds. *Flashback*.
Thanks for this video! I will most definitely get a HR-V. Having moved to Colorado I need a AWD crossover that can handle the snow, not to expensive and still get comparable mpg's to my Cruze. This vehicle fits the mode perfect!
I appreciate you testing this car this way, it'll work for me in a normal Minnesota winter then. ;)
Now in 2020 I would really want HRV in this decent blue color
Hi Dave, even a Range Rover Supercharged with good tires may have a hard time climbling what they were trying to do. Love the HRV. Chears!

+bigbuckoramma It wasn't as bad as it may have looked.... I wasn't going that fast and no one was around AND I had my foot on the brake :-)
Y'all are gonna get him into trouble lol
There was nothing in front of him and he was doing like 2mph...
+Everyman Driver Oh I know it wasn't anywhere near as bad as it looked. There was just something about the timing of it, with the look on your face in one camera, and the ground getting closer in the other camera, that just made it hilarious.
+bigbuckoramma somthing out of Reno 911 lmao
Do you ever try turning the traction control off? I think it would do much better!
Nice video and thanks for posting. I was impressed with my HRV in the snow and ice with the stock tires. Imagine the HRV with real snow or winter tires. Use my HRV for on road condition. Off road, I used a M561 Gamma Goat. LOL.
So you weren't getting stuck in the snow? I'm deciding between the HRV and the Crosstrek!
Awesome as always Dave !!!!
Would the HR-V perform better in this type of snow with the paddle shifters keeping the gear low and the traction control switched off?
You do great work! I really enjoy watching your TH-cam channel.
I love this little suv BUT Honda does not make it with a 6 Speed Manual with AWD... it is a shame that Honda doesn't understand that many car buyers that are not happy with Subaru's issues will just switch to Honda because of better overall reliability.
thanks for review...I have hr-v and I love it....
+mbpatel84 Sweet!
Would you recommend it for winter city driving? I'm talking about Winnipeg in Canada, but let's say an average city with regular but not constant snow plowing.
I own a 2020, and would say it would be ideal for conditions you mentioned here
Thats awesome, I'm surprised it made it that far
How do you think the hrv all wheel does in snowy conditions compared to how the 2wd might perform? Much difference?
I love your videos!

would be better if you can put winter tires on
great review!
Did you ever do a snowy off-road review of the 2017-18 Nissan Rogue?
Lana In America I don’t know, let me do a search on my TH-cam channel. Let me Type in “off-road 2017 Nissan Rogue” or “ off-road 2018 Nissan Rogue”.
Some xc90 please !!! In the same conditions !! Pleaaaaasssee !! Great job ! I love your videos !
+Peter Ximas No more off-roading UNLESS the vehicle is meant for off-roading... even then, I may not chance it.... don't want to be black listed for abusing press vehicles... sorry.

so which car would you choose, this 2016 Honda hr-v with the cvt and awd or a Subaru crosstrek with the cvt (and awd obvi)
hrv
any specific reason why?
Crosstrek has more powerful engine, aggressive design, exceptional AWD, the honda awd is the worst out there.
What tires are on this car? Winter snow or stock all seasons?
WTF happened to MPG over the years? I had a 1980 mustang that got 35 MPG on the highway...and it was 9 years old at the time.
Did you test it uphills at altitude above 8000 ft? Just curious how it did on power. Thanks
I enjoy the videos. What is the song you are playing?
these things would be a sweet tuner car man...6 speed awd sohc vtec hatchback...
7:47 = The only thing that will be able to make it up that snowy slope would be a vehicle fitted with MATTRACKS.
Did that car make it to the top?
These tests should ALWAYS be done with 4 winter tires on vehicles.

How did the heated seats work out? Were they on?
Should there be a light that turns on when the AWD is being used?
that looks incredibly dangerous! i was scared just watching this lol
What's your best bet for an AWD under 30k for snow
MORE TOYOA REVIEWS PLEASE
+Thivakar saravanamuthu I want to but it'll come for dealerships.
+Everyman Driver ok
Dave..please try the new murano in the snow.
+ijaz mom Please try the new Miata in the snow.
can you please try to get a 2016 ford edge and try this? love your videos!
+Cade LaRotonda I don't get Ford vehicles right now and I'm positive it would NOT be appreciated if I took it off-road. Sorry.
+Everyman Driver damn that sucks. thanks for the reply!
It's better in the snow with sports mode on
+everyman driver thankyou for the reply
Hi, thanks for your video. I have a quick question here. Could H-RV be switched between AWD and FWD?
No. It "senses" when you need AWD and engages.
Can u make a chevy traverse, orlando, benz glc review?
Are toyota rush available in north america?
+ Hello everyman Driver I will like to know if you can do with a 2016 Mazda CX-5 or the 2016 Kia Sorento thank you keep up the good work👍
+Arthur Fernandes I'm gonna be more careful about which vehicles I take off-road. I don't want to be seen as abusive or reckless.
Could you try the pilot.
Problema is not the power... it's the summer tires fited.
+Pedro Teixeira It has all season tires. Power is the problem, especially the CVT - it delivers very little torque at low speed.
all season tires suck in snow , you need winter tires
lol all-season is not all-season. It's 3-season.
Are people seriously complaining that he read for like 4 seconds while he was going 2mph while there was nothing in front of him? I guarantee the same people comparing do way worse stuff while driving.
It didnt go up the snow hill!
Please do a review on 2015 or 16 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland 4x4 in this trail. thanks
you gave the wrong information about the motor it is a single over head cam aka SOHC not a DOHC
Another youtuber did by disengaging the traction control on there HR-V
Have another red bull
Why not in french too :-)
lol the song says epic fail. Which is... true for those poor guys!
this car is common in Indonesia
блин, ну кто так снимает?! невозможно определить глубину снега и реальное бездорожье
More off road videos
i would not trusted to all season tyres .in winter you must have winter tyres ,in summer ,summer tyres So these all season are crap .
I HAVE HONDA VEZEL 2WD DRIVE .
HRV 🇨🇷 VS 🇯🇵 VEZEL
You were suppose to show the AWD abilites of the HRV and we saw a lot of other people showing of their 4WD... What a waste of my time!!!
+Ann Glore sorry
Lazy engine and headlights looks foggy already, like an 10yr.old car
seriously???
This video is pointless without using Winter tires.
