Similar to how most Westerners travel to Sri Lanka in search of its tropical climate, Nuwara Eliya has been the go-to place for Sri Lankans who want to escape the mostly hot climate for a vacation. Most Lankans can’t afford an overseas trip that spans a couple of days/weeks, so Nuwara Eliya has always been that much loved getaway spot.
Sri Lanka will never cease to amaze me! Love how you have started to notice Ceylon tea all over the world haha. In case you didn't know: a lot of people who live in Nuwara Eliya and almost all people who work as tea pluckers in Nuwara Eliya are actually descendants of Indian Tamils brought to Sri Lanka by the British to work in these tea plantations. The guy with the horses said they are Hindu but this is a Buddhist temple, it was nice how he was trying to explain things to you even though his English skills were limited ❤
Within 3 hrs you could go to any climate in this country.....a great place to be born ..the people the religion...... Great place to live at your retirement ...

I am a Srilankan. From Galle. I am a industry owner in Srilanka. I treat to workers better than tourists. I enjoy well in Unavatuna area and have spent in every big Hotels in Galle area. And ALSO Spend time in Sinharaja jungle area which roads across Galle , udugama Road , Neluwa...area And Ķannaliya jungle also. And I love Nuwara eliya. I spent time in nice hotels in Nuwara eliya area including Grand hotel. I wish to be born next life also in Srilanka , Galle or Nuwara eliya.
