    This crept inside my ears and worked it's way deep down into my soul. I didn't know who these guys were until about ten minutes ago, and about ten minutes ago I began to wonder just what in exactly the hell I've been doing with my life. Such a great find and a reminder to me as to why I love music so FUCKING MUCH.

    Im a very rationally thinking person, but this music makes me question whether there is something greater. I know logically that the answer is no, but the fact there is music that can transcend the rational boundaries of my mind and make me question my very existence is an amazing feat. God is an Astronaut is great music for introspection and just a feeling of one with the cosmos. :)

    When I first heard GiA I threw everything out of a window (metaphorically) I thought music was. It's highly subjective, but this, THIS is what I think real music is. This music truly emotionally satisfies me, though I'm not an emotional-kind of a guy. So I bow low to the gentlemen who made this astonishing an miracilous music.

    If you are Christian, you believe God created us. And if God created us, than he pretty much has the right and ability to kill us whenever he wants. He is an all powerful being on another plane of existence. To him, we are just little origami things. If he feels our purpose is gone, into the fires we go.

    @NevinJarek We freakin humans for gods sake, we can listen to whatever the hell we like and as long as we like it it's fine. I love this band and no-one really should care what kind of taste the music is and how much talent it took to create it.
    If you like it you like it and if you don't you don't. There shouldn't be any in-depth thought as long as the creators made it because they liked it and not to make money.

    @vivelavidarocka Post usually means after an event (the opposite being Pre) so, to me anyway, it stands for after rock, or in other words the evolution of. Really it's name doesn't matter does it? The feelings/spiritualism of this type of music speaks for itself.

    Who says you cant question it? Dont listen to zealot "christians" , you can question and discern all you you what and come to your own conclusion, but if you chose to believe in God there will be a place where you have to say I dont understand all this and faith will have to take its place. I personaly have had enough of my questions answered to choose to have faith/hope in what we call God and that He is loving. Thats what Jesus showed, would God suffer torture for people He doesnt care for?

  • @neurogenica
    @neurogenica 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    I see your point but when you consider that God has infinite wisdom, He will do things that we as human with limited wisdom dont understand. But that is where faith comes in. God has said for us to have faith that He is ultimatly working everything out for a good and loving purpose. And then He gave us a sign of His love when he sent Jesus to suffer a viloent death, this is the "good news" of the gospels.

  • @emptyhighways
    @emptyhighways 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @NevinJarek Did you use the word "hobo" as an insult? For someone who seems intelligent and educated that's pretty shocking. Cuz i was homeless too, and i know what a tautology is and all the other freshman words you used, and i had friends who were absolutely brilliant, and yet homeless, abused, fucked up, mentally ill and addicted. So, not to go all pc on your ass, but just saying that it's a really ignorant insult, especially for someone who says things like "logical functionality".

    @studiiamericane2 I wasn't suggesting it, darkeststreetx mentioned something along the lines if it. Maybe he's trolling or something. And I don't compare bands any more as a rule of thumb. I'm not starting a flame war, just putting my opinion there.

  • @miniioana
    @miniioana 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @ROy1849 is it? you can take the song as being about god - as i can say its about a near death experience or about an orgasm - but just because the band has 'GOD' in its name doesn't mean they are singing in any way about god...

    @Grilasap That is all very true but there's no regognition or fame needed... The moment people start to realise that this music is superior, is the moment this music dies!! It is vital that music like this stays as 'low' as possible to avoid falling into the hands of the majority of this disgusting society... Those who have the ability to understand and appreciate these sounds are the ones worthy of it's presence... Most people today don't even bother to question the meaning of talent.

  • @omgtkseth
    @omgtkseth 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @ImpendingSerendipity They already do, minimalism is based on the idea that concentrating on a small idea can pronounce itself to a unique level not achievable through raw talent like Beethoven's. Thats why modern musicians usually cant write their own music, because its easier to achieve 'something' but doing a silly thing again and again until it feels spiritual rather than doing a monolith of creativity like they used to. Everyone can experience it, but can everyone say if it was worth?

  • @anonymous564
    @anonymous564 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @NevinJarek Haha i'm not going to read your fucking 6 part message dude. Seriously, i can respect that you don't like GIAA, that's your opinion. I bet there's a lot of people that they do not appeal to. Just as i do not like a7x, that is my opinion, they are generic and boring. But that does not mean that you have bad taste, it's merely a different taste. If this music can capture an emotion in my eyes, it is in good taste to me.

  • @anonymous564
    @anonymous564 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @NevinJarek No what i'm saying is that dialect is irrelevant in ethical issues. Ethical issues are about morals, which you don't go to school for. You don't have analyse ethical issues using knowledge :/ Gay marriage, did you really have to have a great amount of knowledge to figure out that it's ignorant to condemn it? Music on the other hand, you need specific knowledge to analyse. So saying that argumentative ability in music has a relation with ethics is absurd.

  • @SeknaTS
    @SeknaTS 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    Sorry I understand completely that you're NOT telling me to like it. :P
    But the fact that you think that music should have certain qualities to make it good for "higher tastes" really is very arrogant. Just because you study music at a higher level doesn't mean you like these "higher tastes" now. You've seen qualities that you've studied which you now appreciate. you don't actually like them any better. A taste is per individual and I personally think it's arrogant to think there are levels...

  • @jjddrumming
    @jjddrumming 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @MoonrayDrake I agree, not really the essence of the song what so ever, still a bloody shame they couldn't have taken the time to spell the band name correctly, bit of a piss take in all respects

  • @anonymous564
    @anonymous564 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @NevinJarek And yes, the fact that you used the same word 4 times shows that your vocabulary isn't as big as you pretend it is. But that is neither here or there, the fact is that you music can't be in "bad taste" and music can't be measured by quantifiable elements. There is no bad taste in liking GIAA, no matter how boring the band is to you.

  • @SeknaTS
    @SeknaTS 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    Anyway I think you two should stop this discussion. It's kinda getting off track. If you really want to continue do it via PM or something. That'll show whether or not you actually are interested in going any farther.
    And NevinJarek I don't mean anything harsh I'm just trying to express my opinion and each to their own, but this should really stop. Anyhow, I'm out of here.
