  • This is our first camping trip of 2024. After uploading this video I noticed that there was a misspelled word in one of the captions near the end. I meant to say "Pavement", but typed "Payment" instead. I can't fix it now without losing views and comments. Sorry about that!

Yes, I enjoyed this video, my favorite place is the high Sierras. I’ll be going with my family to Mammoth in a month. You have a nice family. Pismo Paul.

Thanks Paul. That was only part of my family. I have a daughter and another middle son who are not campers. I also have 3 other grandchildren and a great-grandchild on the way. Our next camping trip is scheduled for July. But I think it will be too hot to go. We'll see.

Mark and I brought up our own food for the week. But my daughter-in-law brought up much more and cooked for us the rest of the time. She is a great cook.

Don that looks like a fun trip. You are surely blessed to get to spend such quality time with close family. The food looked surprisedly good and i told my wife that your kitchen is better than our home kitchen. when i camp meals are of utmost importance lol.
i didn’t see any fishing poles but i did see a creek- did anybody try their luck?
good to see you are well, your old friend
    Darick.

Hello Darick. It's really good to hear from you. Today, July 21, 2024, I just returned from another camping trip. I'm now working on a new video of that trip. It should be up on TH-cam in a few days. No! Nobody tried their luck in the creek. I like to fish but am not a Gung-ho type fisherman. I much prefer fishing in a river. We are a little short on rivers around here! Plus the cost of a fishing license is too much for me particularly when I only fish about once a year. Thanks for watching the video and commenting.

Not sure if you have any interest in old trains but on July 9th Union Pacific will be running the restored Big Boy (largest steam locomotive built) Westbound on the old Western Pacific Feather River Route to Roseville. On the 14th it will Return East to Cheyanne Wyoming on the old Transcontinental line (through Reno and Salt Lake). Lots of great places to watch it!

First,as a Marine Corps veteran I want to thank you for your service . Second thing is you and your son reminded me of my time at deer camp as a kid with my dad CONSTANTLY telling me " get your feet out of the fire son" , I was just a kid. Lol He passed away when he was 39 years old. Sure miss those trips.
Anyway, great video, thank you and your son for bringing us along and thanks for bringing back some fond memories from my childhood.... BTW, I'm almost 60 now so... Thanks again!!!
